  1. You do realize that most crime committed with guns are from illegal weapons smuggled into the country right? When someone is sick in the head , they'll use knives, cars, baseball bats or whatever else to commit crimes. I'm indifferent when it comes to buying a gun because I have no interest.... but I do roll my eyes when people think that banning guns will somehow drastically reduce crime and murders.
  2. Apparently another theater chain is joining AMC... https://www.theverge.com/2020/4/29/21241463/regal-amc-universal-trolls-world-tour-vod-streaming-warner-bros-disney
  3. https://www.ign.com/articles/amc-theaters-refuses-to-play-universal-movies-once-theaters-reopen Is the article I read.... 80% cut compared to 50% at the theatre. I know every studio is not the same and every chain charges a different rate. I know back in the day they also had different deals so for example the big Pixar movies the studios would get 100% of the tickets for the first month and this was why they pushed concession prices up and had special combos featuring the disney characters etc... I'm sure the lockdown is a factor... but when it comes to the main cartoon movies... parents will go or rent regardless if it's in the theatre or at home. I remember a long time ago reading about why they made direct to DVD movies .... it was very low risk and high profitability. I think moving forward the blockbusters will be in the theatre and all small and mid tier movies will be VOD.
  4. So AMC is apparently never going to show any Universal movies in the future because they put Trolls on VOD! AMC is also on the edge of bankruptcy.... this reminds me of Blockbuster. I can't remember the numbers and am to lazy to find the article but I believe Universal made as much money on VOD in the first 3 weeks of Trolls World Tour compared to what they made after 5 months of the first being in the theatre.
  5. Considering Trudeau promised to give Syria 1 BILLION, Africa 400 million and Mastercard 50 million..... he better give the league f'ning 150 millions no questions asked.
  6. Well isn't that just toooo sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
  7. So no games in Winnipeg until September at the earliest......
  8. Not to generalize everyone in the States... but have you seen how ridiculous some of these folks at the anti-lockout rallies are?
  9. Those fans should do some research and see how poor the results were the last time Buffalo came to Toronto to play.... NFL is not coming to Canada ever.
  10. I agree something doesn't seem right here. I'd assume all of the office employees are Canadian and would be covered already. Are they asking for potential loss revenue? If that's the case then wouldn't every single Canadian business ask for the same?
  11. Currently Grand Beach is open... I've seen pictures on Facebook of people going.
  12. Pretty damn good !!!
  13. Garbonzo's in Fargo is basically heated up frozen mccain type pizza. Nothing special at all. Chi Chis.... closest that you will find is Paradiso's down in North Dakota.
  14. This is correct.... I'll give my example of my situation. Boss A - Old Guard... mid 40's. Has worked at his same job for his full career... has not kept up with IT practices (or technology). Forced his staff to come into work during pandemic despite the building being nearly empty as 80% of the users are working from home. Before the pandemic he would make one of his staff members who lives in Oakbank to drive 45 minutes to work to grab a work van... despite the job site being in Beausejour. 2 hours of extra driving because he doesn't trust the employee. Does not allow flexible work schedules, does not allow compressed work weeks, never allows working from home. Paranoid that staff won't do work from home, that higher ups will frown upon not visibly seeing people in the office, has the thought process that if a person is in the office that they will spend the full day working. Has a high turn over of the good employees, extremely low morale in the office, zero motivation, staff is disinterested and poor performance from employees. Boss B - New Guard .... 60ish.... Has worked in several different organizations and positions. Keeps up with latest IT trends. Works remotely himself and allow staff to work from home. Staff has had zero pressure into coming into work during pandemic. Staff is allowed to keep work vehicle at home over night. Allows very flexible work schedules, pretty much as long as the work gets done on time and in a correct manner it doesn't matter. Only rule is that the black berry needs to be on and nearby the staff during office hours. Very high morale of staff, most of the staff feels guilty being at home and not being able to do all of the work. Currently I'm writing this post outside on my deck in the beautiful sun working for Boss B. My quality of life in the last 2 years since moving over to this new job has increased dramatically. I usually go into the office 2 - 3 days of the week and the hours I save from having to drive in rush hour traffic , the ability to do house chores in between work , not having to drive in when it's -30..... has increased my quality of life massively. My mental health has improved so much that I'm way more focused at both work and home life. It helps so much when the kids did have activities (pre pandemic) being able to pick them up from school and having dinner ready the moment they come home with much more time to spare to get them ready for swimming & soccer.
  15. I'd think more so Milt with Calvillo.... Flutie loved the shovel passes.... Calvillo aired it out more.
  16. I just wish.... instead of giving all that money away to contractors... why not give it to the employees. Jeeze give me $20 000 for a days work that I could do myself.....
  17. Are we defining top 20 careers or in their prime in that one moment where you would rank them. I don't think Allen is top 20. If we are talking about who had a long healthy career then Allen would be ranked higher then Garcia despite not being anywhere near as good as him as a player.
  18. What pisses me off is that everyone including the local police knew what this guy did but always turned the other way... it's sad that it had to take this many years before something happened. I remember hearing stories 15 years ago about the **** he was doing IN Winnipeg with under age girls and boys. This wasn't some kind of surprise or dark secret...
  19. No way.... Allen wouldn't IMO hit top 20 qb of all time. Geroy Simon is surely a top 20 receiver of all time. Allen was the CFL version of Art Monk..... really good for a long period of time but never the best.
  20. I'm in IT and even I've seen resistance from the "old guard". It's the old guard mentality that if someone is at home that they can't possibly be productive. It's a weird kind of thinking where if these bosses really do not trust their employees then why did they hire them in the first place?

    UFC

UFC 249 is back on..... in Florida....
  22. Alcohol + Mental Issues equals a bad recipe.
  23. Not me! I save $50 - $80 dollars when watching it from home
  24. Have any of you ever worked for the federal government and see how insane any contracts are? A few examples over the years that I've seen was..... $500 - $1000 to mount a 40" tv on the wall $4000 to change a door from swinging inward to outward $500 to add the hinge to make the door slow down $100 000 to take down a 30 foot non load bearing wall $50 000 for 12 desks to be installed (desks price included).... these desks are Office 2.0 desks so low height (no cabinets) and very small in dimensions and they are linked together. $1500 for each chair.... You get the idea.... you should see how insane the prices are on big new build projects.....
