The guys on 1290 keep bringing this article up, while I mostly agree one point that annoys me is the reference to his play off play. They keep bringing up 2016-2017 numbers while completely ignoring that the guy is no longer the same player as he was during those years. As I posted a long time ago his numbers were great until his first injury... since then it's plummeted and he has not look the same at all. At this point their is no comparison.

Pipkin is a name that I've heard of before... that is about all the good I can say about him. I'd waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay rather go with McGuire and even Bennett if he's available before Pipkin.

He was healthy in the play offs though...

I'd hope they would only make a trade if the person has term and/or they somehow negotiate an extension before pulling the trigger.

Adams does disappear for games at a time , partially with the fault of the LaPo offense. But he's been known to drop make-able catches when we need them. If we *had* to pick between a Tasker/Walker or Adams.... I'd easily take the new since they have shown that they can play at an elite level for long periods of time.

I think it comes down to signing Adams or someone else.... they will stick with Darvin. He's a super good #2 guy.... he's just not the guy I trust to make a big play in a clutch situation or a guy who can take over a game. I hope we can sign him but then also grab someone else like Tasker...

From my memory the day he started with us we also saw a massive improvement from the o-line on top of Nichols getting the ball out early. With Willy he seemed shell shocked and the o-line succccccked and he kept hanging on to the ball and getting drilled. Pre first injury Nichols was really good, confident, would throw the ball down the field more often and definitely gave the receivers a chance for making plays. He will be remembered in a positive light similar to Kevin Glenn.

We've had no luck in bringing in free agent receivers.... might as well focus on other areas and role with the guys we have and recruits...

Maybe this season in the XFL it will be a nice audition for the CFL teams to pick them up... similar to the last time the XFL existed.

I think it's more of a case of the city having a much larger amount of casual fair weather fans then true NHL/Jets fans. Same thing happens with the Blue Bombers....

The eye test IMO showed that McGuire seemed much more poised and polished then all the other pre season qbs that everyone over hyped. Marve was only beloved because he could move and had a strong arm.... after years of limp noodle arm guys it was nice to see someone who didn't float every pass.

What were our other options? Arbuckle - Small sample size still un proven.... Nichols - Coming off yet another injury and wouldn't be ready for the start of the season. Prone to injuries. MBT - Healthy, a bit nutty... has not shown enough to justify a massive contract. I could understand if we had options that were more healthy... but we don't so we did the best with what was available. Any QB that we could of brought in would be considered a gamble. It's not like the early 90's where every off season their was a carousal of starting qbs that we could pick from...

And this is why I think it's tragic that the media and people ignore all the faceless people who are taken way to early.

The scope is minuscule compared to so many other tragedies that happen across the world. I just don't see why a rich famous person is more sad or bigger news then 100's of poor people dying in China?

I don't understand why anyone would want to celebrate his death that's weird. On the same hand every day innocent people are taken to early... I don't see why Kobe's death is so much more sad then your average person.

I'm perfectly fine with spending that much money and perfectly fine if Strev does go to the NFL. At this point the only free agent that I really want them to bring back is Willie. Anyone else is a bonus.

If Toronto doesn't pay Nichols starter money then he will have to sign for backup money. I'm guessing own year deal maybe even with us.
