It's the CFL.... we've seen many times guys come into the league on short notice and immediately take off and excel come game time. I'm not understanding why they go with the "known talents" who have a ceiling of mediocre. Why not try out guys who "can" become break out star players.

I'm not writing off Thursday as a loss. I will however be unhappy if the O is out of synch and we give away a game that we should of won because some guys were shaking off the rust. If the mindset is treating the first few weeks as an extended pre season and not putting as much weight on losing the first few games... that is a risk that I'm not a fan of, If 8 teams out of 9 are giving starters some reps in pre season and if 8 teams out of 9 are not using additional Canucks for no real reason... I refuse to believe that O'Shea is the only smart guy who has it figured out while everyone else is behind. I know his track record gives him the benefit of the doubt but these are a few things that had a new coach implemented we would be much more vocal with the complaints.

It makes for an easy piss break + restock on snacks without missing anything important

Is O'Shea a huge fan of our punter? He seemed terrible last year and this pre season he was a whole lot of mediocre?

I like our technique of handing off on first down and throwing it into the turf on 2nd down. So nice!

We are getting good film of Calgary players who they may cut That's a positive I think?

Well this is the fun part of the game where we see players make boneheaded plays that makes the cuts easier. Such as a fumble on a return.

400 yards vs 100 yards... It would be nice to have at least a pulse on offense.

Has the Bombers made a 15+ yard pass in either pre season game?

I just tuned in... any cliff notes on who showed well and who showed poorly?

Do they have any pics without a green lighting shining on it? It looks like just plain black uniforms with a small amount of green trim?

Not worth the time and effort? They don't to lower the standards of how they broadcast? Maybe the CFL wanted to charge them a large price to broadcast? What big network would ever air a live sport using a janky feed for which they would to pay someone else for the rights to display? If TSN were to show all pre season games then it would have to be done professionally complete with the full staff. If they could do it with only half the staff then they would do that for every game because in the end everything comes down to making money. It's a very silly thing to consider a big business not wanting to air games for any reason outside of making money. If pre season games were to make money then they would do it.

I don't think some folks on here realize just how many people work on a game day production. It isn't just 5 camera guys and two guys in a booth.

I can confirm that Taste of Ukraine in KP is very good. I had the meat lovers bowl on the left and I was beyond full. My European wife can confirm that the cabbage rolls are legit and among the better ones she's ever had. Next time I'll try the potato pancakes and the borscht soup.

It was extremely bland, reminded me of old Mr Sub. Google searching jimmy john sandwiches you will see many similar to this (many much worse with more lettuce). Now google searching Fire House subs and from the two times I have gone it was a very accurate representation where those sandwiches were comically large with how much they stuff in them. I'll give them a shot when they come here but will go in with low expectations.

I've had Jimmy Johns in the States several times and found it to be significantly worse then Subway and Quiznos. It was extremely bland and on par with what you would get from a gas station sandwich. Each time it was like 90% bun and lettuce with a tiny amount of meat and other toppings. I think the sandwiches were also pre-made and they didn't allow for any customization. Unless Firehouse drastically changes what they serve, they won't see any impact at all. I have not tried Jersey Mikes, will check it out if I'm back in the States this summer.

The insanely high prices for rock bottom quality food and the constant parking of everyone in drive thru is what really pushed us away from going to McDonalds. Thankfully Canada does have much higher standards for food requirements , so what they do serve up here wouldn't be as low quality or as filled with preservatives and junk in comparison to what McD's in the States and what they had in the Super Size documentary. I believe 100% in what he showed in the documentary is true. All of the processed food and crap with preservatives do last a long time which can't be healthy ingesting in the long run.

Watching the rest of the game. I'd like to see Barriere get one quarter... not sure if it's going to happen though. Late in the 2nd half he looked "better" and overall it was a bad showing but he didn't look completely useless like a Boltus or a Brink from back in the day. I think it was a lot of just bad nerves. Wilson looked far more ready after he settled down and from what I saw we need not Pigromes or someone else air lifted to the city asap. Lots of fast moving guys on D, I'm very anxious/excited to see who they keep and if any of these guys can be the next all star to play for the team for a few seasons.
