I drove by Freddies and saw the drive thru with 20 cars deep. Winnipeg people sure like mediocre fast food chains. Then again for dinner I was dragged to Olive Garden and it was jam packed and the pasta that I had was only a minor notch above a microwave dinner. It always blows my mind on why the location on Reenders is always so busy when the food is very expensive and mediocre. Every dish is near 30 dollars and very subpar.

Never updated with the times and I'm assuming basic burger places skew to an older crowd.

I disagree, places like McDonalds are so expensive now that the Mom and Pa if done right can offer much superior offerings at a similar price.

What I read was that Joss and his husband had a history with all of the neighbours as they would get messed on meth and would do weird stuff such as banging pots and screaming at anyone walking pass the house. Last year when he was on drugs Joss tried heating the house by making a fire pit inside the house and burned it down. The husband apparently was also cooking meth so that's why it went up in flames so quickly. They came back to the neighborhood got into a shouting match with the accused and he went inside and found his rifle and shot him. The police have found zero evidence of a hate crime towards gays but instead a feud between neighbours. The husband posted a rant on Facebook saying it was purely anti gay, however other neighbours posted on Facebook with the claims of drug usage and bizarre behavior. I assume the media is waiting until more info before starting a firestorm.

Maybe it's selective memory but I always feel like we punt near midfield and somehow the opposition ends up getting it on their own 45ish rather then deeper in their own end. I can't actually remember seeing a Sheehan punt and thinking "wow that was a good deep punt".

Thank god, it really ruined the experience watching on tv. I couldn't imagine how annoying it would be in person.

How does these guys develop and get real game time sitting on the PR or playing 3rd string. I would of rather they play out the contract this year and if he returns to form then pay him big at the end of the season. I'm anticipating that next year these boards will be pissed that they gave away a large chunk of money to a broken QB who is no longer worth the money.

I think so, I've never been but my co workers have all enjoyed it and recommended it. Do you have a food truck? I had met a guy back in the day who would do all the festivals/carnivals in Manitoba during the Summer and then would drive around the State fairs and whatever in the warmer States during Winter and he would make a killing. It was a fry truck with I think hot dogs and he lived in a mansion and had lots of big toys.

With the carnival idea , I think maybe Dreamland Diner might be the only one who is close to doing it? I know around the McPhillips area they have a funky corndog place which I have not tried yet. I'd stick with food trucks over a restaurant, I've known a few people who have opened up restaurants and it's high risk/stress, money pit, and a lot of work to keep afloat. The costs really add up quickly and the post Christmas slump kills a lot of places. At least with the food trucks you can drive in to where the customers are and during the winter months I'm assuming you would be in the States running the circuit. In an over saturated market like Winnipeg it makes things much more difficult. If I were to do a restaurant in Winnipeg I'd 100% buy into an existing franchise, it's far more safe.

We checked out Watt Bistro Pho (the newish location on Plessis and Regent) the other day and tried the vermicelli pork + spring rolls and also the Pho. Both were large in size and fresh and had a lot of flavour. We will be going back since Phuong Nam (our regular spot) is a bit of a drive and this is much closer. I believe they also do bubble tea. I'd recommend for those in the area.

What are you talking about? In that immediate area the only fast food burger places they have are: McDonalds, Burger King, Nuburger, Fatburger, Burger Factory, Wayback Burger, Georges, A&W, Sals, Five Guys, and I'm probably missing a few more... My kids enjoyed the frozen custard at Culvers in the States, though they could barely tell the difference between eating that and getting soft ice cream anywhere else. I don't think it's enough of a differentiator that will make it stand out. The location also isn't the greatest, the few times that I've gone to Firehouse subs, the Boutans and Mucho Burrito which are next door have been completely dead.

At this point Wilson is one minor injury away from me wanting to cut him loose and try someone else who isn't falling apart. I'm less concerned about safety/corner since we have seemed to have done a good job over the last 5+ years of finding guys who can jump in and play well right away.

I understand loyalty and giving your vets the benefit of the doubt etc... etc... I can understand this with your star players who may need to work out of a slump or coming off injury issues. I can somewhat comprehend guys who have shown flashes. I do not understand the loyalty for the mediocre players who have never shown that they can even come close to being considered an above average or really good player.

I was told on these boards 1000 times that Wally Buono could do no wrong because he would cut a declining vet before his expired date.

It would be interesting to know what determines playing one guy over another from the mind of O'Shea. I can understand character issues if you have self destructive guy who can be a cancer for a locker room for which his athletic / gameday ability is great but the overall value afterwards isn't worth it. I can't imagine over the last many years that we brought in guys who fit that negative criteria for which we dress a Navy Seal with D- level skills over numerous players who clearly have a much better upside.
