temu specials? -
I met Johnny Fairplay when he was in Winnipeg 15 years or so ago... that guy was a complete pr*ck. It's definitely not a persona or character... it is him in real life. Watching the video of Danny Bonaduce breaking his jaw is always very satisfying.

Any chance that Zach is contemplating retirement and they are signing a bunch of guys as replacements? -
That d-line is dominating... I miss the days when our d-line would disrupt games

Wilson was really good on short yardage for us last season, that alone is enough reason for me to keep him over Dole-banana. -

Strev had no issues at all throwing the ball in the NFL and having success for the two - three years he was gone. Strev when he first played with us was able to throw the ball with no issues... it was only when LaPo got cute and designed weird plays and then once again last season where LaPierce decided to also get cute and assumed that he was the 2nd coming of Christian Okoye and would run very predictable plays which were 75% him rolling out and running into a pile of players. -

I'd be concerned if I were a Hamilton fan that he's bringing many mediocre guys that way. As a Bomber fan this excites me that we have unloaded a guy who appears to be the one who recruited this C - D level talent. -

The guys in bold are TCF, those guys showed very little last year. -

So much sourness on here... it's not out of the realm of possibility that Winnipeg could offer Lawler 50 k more and Hamilton stays firm with what they originally offered. To think it's 100% impossible is very weird. It's doubtful, but most certainly not impossible. Weird things have happened in the league before where players change their mind at the last minute. -

So you are suggesting that Walters won't adjust what he will spend now that he has an increased budget? Usually when you have a higher budget, you spend more money. I'd be very surprised if now that he has an extra 400 k that he will just ignore that extra money and stick to the smaller budget. -

Lots of TCF from what I can see, week in and week out we complained about most of these guys being invisible and under performing. -

I don't understand how 225 000 + 400 000 = 276 000 , your math doesn't make sense. If the team has $400 000 extra play money that they didn't expect then maybe they are willing to spend an extra $50 000 to keep him around. I wouldn't be opposed to it since Lawler is a guy who is a game breaker. It's almost like the moment he said he was going to Hamilton people forgot the insane catches he made and how he would make plays while being double/triple teamed. I'm not sure who is left in free agency that would be considered a game breaker or elite, but if their is no one else on the table then why not bring him back? I'm assuming Zach is on his last year of his contract , so won't that free up lots of money for next season? -

Or he has a very limited list of players that he has scouted. We've seen teams in the past where coaches/management brought in their old players with little to no success. -
I think Valley Fiber is from Manitoba? I wonder if one day they will be available in Winnipeg? So far I've had them for 4 months at my cabin and have only had two outages that lasted 20 minutes or so. I will say for the ten months that I had Starlink that I never had a single outage, so it was reliable. At home I switched to Shaw and have seen far more temporary outages then when I had BellMTS before. Nothing that lasted very long but still annoying enough that the internet would drop for 30 - 60 minutes.

I don't think the accuracy/touch is the issue... it's him making bad decisions. I don't remember him throwing into double/triple coverage as much as he did in his earlier years with us. -

Something something Wally Buono would get rid of players before they declined something something..... -
I describe it accurately, if I am incorrect in any of my statements please point it out. The original post was showing that Winnipeg is the least desirable place for NHL'ers wanting to be traded. Explain why that is? Saying all players are ignorant is not a real answer as each of these players have visited the city multiple times and many of the players are Canadian and are aware of Winnipeg. A toddler would be a person closing their eyes and covering their ears because they don't like hearing the truth.
-
But Vegas is an option so why would I exclude it? I did say Buffalo is a complete dump, however it is warmer and is closer to more desirable destinations. I'd say Edmonton would be the only place that may be inferior to Winnipeg, I have not been in many years but since my last visit it has grown consdierably and is a much larger city then Winnipeg so maybe it has more options? Places like Chicago and Minnesota are significantly better, while they do have really bad areas, they have equally as many beautiful areas with plenty to do. We are going to Chicago again this upcoming summer and I have to trim out many destinations for our family to go because the amount of options of fun things to do is staggering. What does Trump have to do with anything? Describe Winnipeg downtown then in your own words? Why would I cheer for Vegas, I'm pointing out that young people dont' want to play hockey in Winnipeg. The NUMBERS back that up, give me a reason why they aren't playing here if it's not for the city being a dump. Truth hurts.
-
Their is nothing to experience though that is the problem. It's not gross its' the truth. EVERYONE who lives in Winnipeg is well aware of how gross downtown is and after 5:00 pm the place is a ghost town. It was a ghost town pre-COVID... now post COVID it's even more so. Even during the day it's very quiet as many people are working from home now, lots of businesses have closed and the amount of "for lease" signs on the main strip is staggering. Talk to anyone who has to use a bus and travel to downtown during off hours and you will get smacked in the face with the reality of the situation. The issue has spread and even going to the Forks these days is dangerous. See numerous stabbings in broad daylight and a few shootings to boot. The place is a crap hole and the undesirables isn't only located in a "ghetto", it's infected the full downtown area and more. TLDR: The numbers do not lie... MANY years in a row hockey players do not want to move here. It's because the city is a dump and has nothing to offer young wealthy people. I'm sure if Regina had a team they would be neck and neck with us on being last on the list. To say the players are ignorant is stupid, many players are Canadian and are well aware of what Winnipeg is like.
-
A little ignorant to think that others would want to live in Winnipeg just because you have rose colored tinted glasses of your memories of Winnipeg. Winnipeg attracts refugees, immigrants, and low to middle class income folks who want to raise families in a place that is affordable. Educated young adults leave Winnipeg in droves so this isn't exactly a place that a 20 something year old millionaire would want to live. It is freezing cold during hockey season, night life is extremely poor, downtown is a complete desolate zombie wasteland, their is nothing to do or nowhere to go in Winter. Their isn't a conspiracy on why players don't want to go to Winnipeg. It's a complete $hithole. I don't blame the players, would you rather play in Vegas where you have thousands of options and nice weather or do you want to go to Winnipeg where you can't walk outside at night (weather/extreme crime) and visit Earls for the 100th time since downtown has nothing else to offer. It will always be a challenge to attract players , they just have to pick and choose ones that want that docile stay inside all of the time life.

I've kept traction bars in my trunk my whole life and numerous times I've helped people getting unstuck from the snow. The fold up ones take very little space and are super handy.

We lost a star receiver, a star Db... and a whole bunch of mediocre players. I don't see how it's the end of the world? Also in free agency what team has ever won the cup based on a plethora of off season free agency signings? For the last many years I can only remember everyone on here mocking Edmonton and Saskatchewan and Hamilton for continously over paying for free agents only for them to wash out by mid season. -

Lawler leaving.. it's not the end of the world. Look what happened last time he left... we found a young and better replacement. I'd much rather we drop $275 000 on a star LB'er or a guy on the d-line. As said many many many times over the years.... receivers and running backs are the easiest positions to fill. Not worried at all that he left. Hogan ... that is a head scratcher. I guess he comes cheap? I don't know why they wouldn't have Jarious as the OC and let Hogan be an assistant or something for a few years. Not a great move IMO. So when are we signing a star punter? -
Who would be crazy enough to visit NK? My friend was given over a grand for his one day delay... it is in the small print somewhere where they list out prices on what they compensate.
