The Jets really looked uptight and clenching on the stick tonight... also played a very soft game which was the complete opposite of what Lawless said of what they would do. Hopefully they loosen up for the play offs! So many two on ones that resulted in Stafford or whoever else holding onto the puck way to long and not even getting a shot off.

Agreed I definitely noticed a lot of wipe outs in this game.

White Cop Shoots Black Man, Charged With Murder
Brandon replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in General Discussion
So when the Army kills tonnes of innocent people its OK because America F$$$ Ya? So when taxpayers pay for criminals in jail and/or pay for social assistance for people who commit murder those don't matter because why? -
As a programmer my advice is don't get conned into spending 1000's of dollars from local companies. A basic site should be no more then $500. Hey maybe ask Colin Unger to do it

All I have to say is who cares? Tonnes of people of all different colors kill people every day in the States. The glorification of any of these incidents are pure garbage. -
Pav is starting to lose, back to Hutch ...
Brandon replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
But shot stats can be misleading.. How do you compare the quality of shots. So say goalie A faces forty shots from the blue line non screened and easy to stop. The defense is stout and giving the opposition nothing up close and most of the shots are simply them sliding it toward the net. Now goalie B faces only 20 shots however many of them were on break aways , screened shots, power play shots etc... Both goalies let in 3 goals... Does this make goalie A light years better? Numbers don't always tell the story... -
Lol at 17 and Noeller making excuses... Edmonton just plain sucks and Nelson is only looking bright because of his predecessor was absolutely awful. Not a huge standard to do a comparison. The injury excuse is an excuse, all teams go through it. Look at how many games missed that our defense missed. Are you suggesting that Pardy, Harrison , Chairot are all light years ahead in talent then the Edmonton guys? You guys are looking at them via oiler blue shade tinted glasses. ..

In fairness Perreault , Myers and Stuart twice had some horrendous giveaways in the last 5 minutes....
-
Myers has more points in less then half the games he played in Buffalo and is at a +8 I believe.... the guy really has turned it around with this club. Same goes for Stafford and even Stempniak... all 3 guys are additions that really work in our system.

The point is Pavelec is the weak link. Jets right now have 4 solid lines. Pavelec is the one weighing the team down. -

I don't think anyone disagrees with Pavs being underwhelming. I just don't see the point of complaining about his play when the team is giving away lots of odd man rushes and when Hutch blew his chance at being the #1 guy. Right now he is the best option. Two years from now he will be gone and Hellebuyck and Comrie will be the tandem... So until then we are stuck with him. -

And then he let in 4 goals and ended the game with a .867 save percentage. Yep, Pavs is back to his usual terrible self. Glad we were able to win in spite of Pavelec, but we're not going to score 5 goals every game. Jets simply need better from their goaltending. So who do they play now then? Who do they sign in the off season? -

Short term I guess you start the hot hand; and I'm not convinced that's Pavelec anymore. My concern is Pavelec's contract is holding this team back for the next two season, when we are primed in every other area of the team to make some serious noise. This club is primed? We have lots of young talent but far from any real superstars. This club is far from "peak" and even if we had a rock solid goalie I wouldn't think the club would be a cup contender. -

So what should the Jets do for this season? Just give up? Maurice has to start someone? -

Prior to this season Pavelec was well below league average, and you can't argue with that. Just look at his save percentage (league average is .915 and Pavelec's career save % is significantly below that). In fact that save percentage shows that about every 3 games Pavelec lets in one extra goal, compared to a league average goalie. Think about that for a minute and how damaging that is to a teams success, considering how close games are in the NHL. In a previous thread on this forum I posted links to websites with stats showing he's been the NHL's worst starting goalie over the last few years. His recent hot streak has brought his stats up to about league average, but since then he's starting level off to his normal self, below average. If Pavelec had kept up a league average save % the last two games, we would have won both games. Last two games he was .875 and .833. Prior to Pavelec's recent hot streak he was well below league average. He needed this hot streak just to make himself league average. Think about the anchor he's been this season prior to the hot streak. And now he's leveling off once again to below league average. Pavelec has a hot streak every season, but always levels off to below league average. We're lucky his hot streak occurred when it did this year, during a playoff push, but he's showing he can't be relied upon now as he's leveling off. Playing fewer games this year will also help make his numbers look a little better. He's an inconsistent, below average goalie who lets in soft goals at the worst possible times, and usually one softie per game. Pavelec is a good NHL backup, but is not a starter in the NHL. That's who he is. So what is your opinion on Hutchinson? The numbers have been tanking big time since the break are you suggesting we bench both and put in Budaj? -

My old roommate trained I say 8 years ago..it was a joke and aside from getting chopped 1000 times he did not learn a whole lot. I believe it was mostly a scam to take money from naive day dreamers wanting to play pretend. -

In regards to old ECW... I'm pretty sure Mikey Shipwreck, spike dudley, two cold Scorpio , rvd were not juicing to the max... -

And this is why ECW was so good... a talented wrestler could find a spot on the roster without having to be juiced to the max..... in WWE if you are big and muscles and could half ass wrestle then you are given a spot.... -

I would not consider the guy being sent to the all star game as a weak link. Pav has been mediocre in the past but any normal fan could see that the breakdowns have been not his fault. A weak link would be guys like Antropov, jokinen , setoguchi, etc... Guys who were getting paid but really sucked. -

ECW was on trend and made the best of what they had. Raven and JC is much more interesting then Jonny Polo and Aldo Montoya... Wcw was awful TV once the nWo expanded each episode and ppv was so predictable I'm amazed that it had any popularity at all. Every event had the nWo interfere do the spray paint thing and add whatever face to the group once they had a bit of a push. Ecw still holds up, watch the old Austin promos its still good.
