It's the root system. Weeds have roots that are thicker and more importantly grow deeper. People who water their lawns frequently create poor root systems for their grass. Less frequent waterings encourages the roots to grow deeper in search of moisture, and in times of low precipitation these lawns will be more durable than lawns that are overwatered. Over time a healthy lawn should overtake the weeds. So they say. Thank you for this tid bit , it makes sense to me!

My random thoughts.... How come Boston Pizza continually changes their menu and removes favorite dishes such as Cactus Nachos (cuts smothered in cheese) , chicken parm sandwich and szeuchwan pizza yet they keep on the menu the garbage like the pizza-burger? Also why the raise in prices it's not that great? Why doesn't Chris Tucker make movies? I know he's blown all his money away and it looks like he's doing another Rush Hour... but I'm sure the guy could score a tonne of big roles and he's way funnier then his mini-me Kevin Hart. What's the deal with Black comedians who become huge then disappear (Murphy, Tucker, Chappelle).... What's the deal with weeds.... why can they grow to be massive in my yard without being watered yet the areas of my grass where I do water struggles to grow. Why can't grass grow crazy big with ease while Weeds struggle? What's the deal with MIL's? Is their some kind of secret society where women must make their SIL's life miserable??

I think the short time between games and the fact that Toronto had the extra week off was a massive factor in why we simply looked tired and beaten up tonight.

Grigsby does have great speed when running in a straight line... His blocking has improved... The lack of being able to snake between players is disappointing. I'd like to see a full game of Cotton and maybe see how other guys do.

Brink only showed well when he was not blitzed... He will get smoked in the game.

Well the Riders will get a very easy win, they may as well treat it like an exhibition game and rest the main guys. Montreal has no passion at all on O and are not even close to turning the corner. They are approaching Burke levels of sadness.

That's unfortunate, I guess money can never truly buy everyone happiness.

Didn't Higgins say that Smith had his best half of football last game? The comment that left the broadcast booth completely puzzled? I don't know why Marsh isn't given a shot? While also wild he at least gives them a fighting chance.

I disagree... Reid was pretty useless as well. On OB.com I harped on him for being able to only get 1 big gain per game and a whole lot of fall down after getting touched for 2 - 3 yard gains. I remember posting his stats where outside of his one big game against BC... if you took away his one big run per game he would average something tiny like 2.8 yards per carry..... I'm getting the same feeling with Grigsby. Now I know the o line isn't giving him a whole lot of room and maybe MB should be calling for more sweeps or anything that will get him outside..... it just seems that when he does have a chance to make a move he usually makes the wrong move or he's one on one with a tackler and instantly falls down. I'm not a huge Messam fan but clearly tonight he showed that he can at least break a few tackles.... so he *would* of been an upgrade to a certain extent.

As disappointed as I am.... I do sit back and realize that Willy has only a fraction of the starts that Durant has and yet still managed to move the ball much better all behind an inferior o line and an invisible rb. We get a few more pieces (quality o line man and anyone running aside from Fred Reid clone Grigsby) and we win that game easily. Things look good....

Do you think he's getting 6 plus figures with TSN? I'd say he would make quite a bit more coaching in my books.

I still say the biggest difference is the lack of stupid penalties compared to the last few years....

The other receivers were making good catches last week so I don't think it's a big blow for them.
