The extra week doesn't necessarily give Ottawa an advantage.... the team will be rusty and needs some game time to get comfortable. I'm sure Burris will be *on* but I'm unsure of the defense and if Burris is pressured... will the running game and the receivers step up? In Pre season Burris had all the time in the world to throw the ball and he dropped perfect passes to these mostly no name receivers....

No doubts.... I'd rather the team keep focusing on the young guys ... who knows maybe in a year or two Petan and Kosmachuk join the team and light it up and by that time Schiefle is an all star.... I can see the Jets signing a decent FA or two... but they won't make a big splash. No need to.

Higgins... Dinwiddie... Popp it doesn't make a difference when the qb has time to set his throws and still ends up sailing the ball 5 feet above the receivers head..... *If* Smith keeps it up he will be a coach killer.

What's wrong with the Thorburn signing? The guy is a good community guy, plays with a lot of grit and a bit more versatile then Peluso. If he was such garbage then why did San Jose make a pitch for him at the trade dead line? For that small price it's a decent signing. While it would be awesome to sign some huge superstar.... I would like to know which guys are available right now? I direct this question to Goalie as he makes it seem like every single other team is signing superstars left and right and the Jets are standing pat.

Typical TSN. Couldn't they give their sideline guy an umbrella?? Mickey Mouse. They have such a good panel in the studio then cheapen the broadcast with guys like Rod Black doing pbp & expect their sideline reporter to perform like a professional in a monsoon. It just makes no sense. We could hear water hitting mics all game. If those were sideline mics why wouldn't they turn them down. Just weird production. They go to the sideline guy and his mic is dead. They didn't test it? Having Rod Black makes no sense either as he is despised by just about everyone yet, there he is... I still like the "early season form" about DA that was classic.

It's the CFL who knows what will happen. I'm hoping BC and the Riders both get crushed that would be awesome. It will be a very interesting week of football that is for sure.

You'r right overall....but there are some degrees between "inconsistent"......and "terrible". For a 30 yr old QB Smith seems to have problems executing the most basic of fundamentals, throwing the ball. I think this was the most alarming thing for Als fans.... he had time to set up his throws and he still sailed the ball way over the receivers heads.... he also seemed very content throwing bombs to the sidelines... I'm not sure if this was designed plays or not? I would think that a few dump offs to Whitaker would of helped immensely in the game.

Come on man, that's just annoying. You know why Toronto was 12 - 1. Because Bishop isn't as bad as people made him out to be. He had 22 TDs and 11 ints that year. You don't play ten years in the league if you are awful. Guys like Max Hall who flame out with no wins are awful. Bishop was simply mediocre... Hall , Boltus, Goltz were awful. He'll win if Defense and ST's score the points for him. Well if Smith keeps playing like he did then sure.... but if he manages the game and has more TD's then INT's then clearly they can win some games. If Bishop back in the day played like Goltz and couldn't even manage 100 yards passing after 3 and a half quarters then Toronto would of lost a tonne of games.

Brandon, you know they sold over 30k tickets for the game. You know a lot of people come from out of town to attend the game. Can't exactly get to the game if the hwy you're travelling on is closed. Don't worry about that game it's still early, check back in at the end of the season. in 23 years as a coach/GM Wally's teams have won 13 West Div. Championships and 5 Grey Cups while appearing in an additional 4 Cup games. If he would have accomplished half of that for the Bombers people would be lined up from here to Brandon to kiss his ass. The guy is was good but he still made mistakes. Also lots of benefits with Flutie, Dickenson and Garcia... Horrendous lol that is a massive over reaction. A horrendous move is Jyles for Ray. Or dropping six figures on Kelly Lapo and Burke for them to sit at home. It's a move that didn't pan out big whoop. Every team does this. Name one current gm who has never cut a vet they signed or traded for??? Every team has done this. We paid Max Hall and Goltz decent money last year to take a dump in the field... Austin signed Collaros for big money and for him to throw for Goltz like yards and to take ten sacks? Colossal failure. Buono traded for completely done Buck Pierce only for him to retire. Buono massive failure.... Korey Banks was a move that simply didn't pan out. I just watched the game.... Hamiltons o line to blame... Collaros may need to only play dome games. The side arm toss is not good in bad conditions and also when being blitzed. The refs early on throwing any penalty they could at Hamilton while blatantly ignoring the holding by Sasks o line and the late hits on Collaros. Hamilton was completely unprepared and that d was sloppy. So many missed tackles. Sask looks prepared and the team looked solid all around. Will be up top unless Durant gets hurt. I think Ottawa legitimately could be 2nd in the East.. We will see how they fair this week.
