  1. I wouldn't say that ... they have been actively trying to move the content from ppv to other means to collect the dollars. This is why they were one of the first on the xbox 360 "apps"..... As smart tvs really take over peoples living rooms I think all PPV's from all sports will be by passing the cable companies....
  2. Except that the stats show Etienne had more yards per game than Kelly did.... Mike isn't trying to pimp Etienne here, simply saying that Kelly was less productive yet people ran Etienne out of town on a rail so why does Kelly as an import survive?Once again... Kelly came in cold and outperformed Etienne. Kelly: 9 games 321 yards = 35.7 y/gmEtienne: 7 games 265 yards = 37.9 y/gm How come Kelly played more games? Wouldn't you think a guy three years with the club and who is a ni would see the field much more then a guy they called up out of the blue. Face it Kelly out performed him hence why he saw the fields more. The 2 yards per game is much inferior then a guy coming in cold and instantly being more productive. If Etienne was the better player he would of seen the field much more. Face it he was a bust. Kelly would be a C level player while Etienne would be a D. They both are the suck. If Etienne was good the Blue would of kept him. Unless you are suggesting the current regime doesn't know what they are doing?

Kelly came in cold and outperformed Etienne. This is similar to the Boatman / Jones where one guy with only 5 days with the club out performed some one else who was with the club for the whole season.
  4. Didn't Bauer call out Nate at one of these many years back?
  5. Someone should make a highlight video of this with the Benny Hill music
  6. Off the streets meaning he wasn't with the team during training camp and pretty much came out of not playing to out perform a guy who was 3 years in with the club! The fact that Etienne couldn't make the club over this guy is a sign that either our coaching staff was / is incompetent or that Etienne simply sucked the big one. ... but Etienne did outperform him. ... and make the club over this guy? Why would they ever have been competing against eachother for a roster spot? One is American, one is Canadian. Literally no idea where you're going here. How do you say Etienne out performed him? He had less stats despite having way more time with the club and our system. Ignoring the fact of import/non import Kelly clearly was a better player then Etienne. If Etienne was so good he would still be with us and would of actually seen the field. Mike its OK to admit that Etienne was a bust and was just another crappy NI receiver that the team drafted.
  7. Clearly the way they handled the goalies was the downfall...
  8. Well the UFC has a similar thing going and that is the way of the future. I remember reading an article about the UFC where they only pull in about 40% of the money when one pays for its ppv. Cut out the middle men and these businesses can rake in much more profits.

  10. So in other words you have no idea what you are talking about lol. Back in the Attitude era most fans were shilling out for both WWE and wcw ppvs. not as much as you think they were. Google it. I mean really. Put in wwe ppv buy rates and the first thing that pops up shows you the numbers have been consistent for the most part. I was mostly directing that to the comment of PPV being a tiny portion of the revenue.
  11. How much will people freak if the Bombers end up picking a guy who was projected to be a late 2nd round pick as their 1st selection?
  12. Especially since Aaron Kelly is still on our roster. Bellefeuille bromance? I'd rather bring in a reasonable prospect for a look in training camp, hell if we really need Kelly back I'm sure he'll be available. Don't even get me started on Aaron Kelly, I have no idea why he's still on our roster. For everyone that loved to rag on Jade Etienne, here's an import who tons of people seemed to fall in love with because of a few spectacular catches despite the fact that he actually produced LESS than a guy like Jade. If we're going to be competitive, we should be able to do much better than Aaron Kelly. I'm not huge on Aaron Kelly... but considering he came off the streets and had 3 more catches and 60 more yards.... Etienne with his 3 years should of had much much more stats then Kelly... not a good comparison. Regardless.... with Moore I assume Kelly is TCF....
  13. Considering how poorly the team has played in the last three years this isn't such a huge drop off...

  15. I'd be curious to see how the ppv sales were back in the attitude era compared to today...
  16. In the 90's Vince simply copied ECW and Paul Heyman. Paul let the wrestlers create there own persona and used more adult and realistic characters with an edge to them. Vince created Knuckleball Schwartz, Garbage Man, Flex Kavana, Flash Funk and many other garbage outdated personalities. He was so out of touch he can thank ECW for saving his butt.
  17. I don't know how one an debate that Kane is not a goal scorer... his negatives are more so along the lines of him not being able to pass , taking shifts off, taking dumb penalties , taking way to many shots.....
  18. So you've been a season ticket holder for the Blue over the last few years?
  19. Well in fairness Shane Carwin throws absolute bombs that blew many fighters away and Brock not only took a huge ass kicking he ended up coming back. With Overeem he's a bloody K-1 champ and in the first 4 minutes of a fight he hits as hard as anyone in the sport. Brock isn't a wuss by any means... I think his health issues ultimately made the decision for him. It's way easier to dabble in the WWE and make a million then for him to get seriously hurt for only a little more.
  20. Well Brock unfortunately is a part of a division in which the high end talent is extremely thin... I don't think they can justify headlining ppv's of Brock vs guys with .500 like records...
  21. I seem to remember watching the special on the history of the UFC and them saying that they produced the show on their own dime and that Spike allowed them to air the program since they were desperate for any programming. Brock brought in fans but not from WWE promoting it. What's funny is WWE is now using the UFC to try to promote its product by bringing in Brock and trying to implement submissions which look ridiculous in a WWE ring.
  22. If or when the Blue win another Grey Cup I think the feeling will be more of a huge monkey off the back rather then jubilation.
  23. Its not like the ufc is losing any money on its events. Its still very profitable.
  24. Well I don't agree with UFC gaining most of it's success because of WWE promoting it... most people gained interest in the UFC because WWE became stale and the UFC with Ultimate Fighter 1 was extremely interesting and they started showing FREE FIGHTS on Spike which gave UFC the exposure it needed. Myself and my friends lost complete interest in WWE pretty much right after they bought out WCW and when ECW had folded. Once the Rock and Steve Austin both left to make movies they simply didn't have any big stars that were interesting at all. I don't think anyone of those same friends could name 3 wrestlers in the WWE right now (aside from the oldies). Back in the late 90's you would see a tonne of people wearing Austin 3:16 shirts and everyone knew the Rock and his one liners. The problem with the UFC I think was that they just shoved to much down the throat right now... for the casual people it's impossible for them to keep up or become a more hardcore fan because the roster has expanded to something ridiculous (500 plus?) people and it's very hard to keep tabs on what's all happening. A few years back when they used to do ppv's that alternated between Pride and them it was much easier for a casual person to follow along since you would always have a few main stays on each card (Liddell, Couture, GSP, Hughes etc...) now days on each card even myself who I'd say is pretty hardcore can only recognize maybe half of the people fighting on each card. It's much to overly saturated.
