  1. I only watched the first period and he made some fantastic saves, the proof is in the stats.... the guy clearly is outplaying Pavs When it comes to goaltending, stats are definitely for losers. Until goalie stats show the number of 'scoring chances' against, they will be mostly meaningless. For example, Kiprusoff played some excellent goal for a poor Calgary team - for quite a few years. Ok well watch the Chicago game and watch the Montreal game and you would see Montoya making ridiculously good saves... then watch Pav being out of placed and being undressed with weak goals (such as the wrap around goal he let in the other night) and that alone is enough. Stats are for losers? Are you kidding me? In Hockey stats tell quite a bit of a story, the +/ - stat is a very good indication of a Defense and Forward, also I'm pretty sure when you pay someone big bucks and they have a crappy plus minus on top of very little points that it tells quite a clear story. For Goalies stats between different goalies for different teams might make sense... but when Montoya who is coming off the bench cold and is playing behind the exact same guys that Pavs does and against the top teams of the league and his GAA is a full goal lower and his save % is quite higher, has more shutouts..... how does that not tell the story??
  2. I told you guys we'd pay for Hank if we signed him. No, no, he has nowhere else to go so he'll be cheaper was the response. Sure. Then let him sign elsewhere! We sign Willy then or if Edmonton or Montreal sign him then we go after Reilly or Nieswander. No team can justify spending 300 000 on a backup qb Everybody seems to want to sign somewhere else & we keep losing. Not just games but players & coaches. So how is that working out for us? It can't continue. As much as I backed Mack... this problem only started occuring when he took over (to a certain extent Mike Kelly also kicked the clubs reputation in the pants) .
  3. And this is why I would give Goltz another chance, at least bring him into TC. When you have 3 different QB's who dumped on Burke/Crowton and being disgruntled and apparently bad attitudes.... it's a little bit to much coincidence. Boltus needed to be cut because quite frankly whats the point of having a 3rd string qb if he can't even do a basic sneak? If you wern't going to play Levi then why not at least sign McPherson just to help close out the season....

  6. Byron Parker? No, he wasn't. The only person making $400,000 in Montreal was AC. Bo Bowling was near the half million mark also! He got a bonus for each time Rod Black said his name!
  7. Lol yes because Walters would tell Stegall who is friends with Burris and lots of the free agents exactly how much free cash the team has to spend LOL!! You also didn't respond to my examples with Calgary and Saskatchewan who were able to sign loads of big contract players. If Edmonton isn't sold on Reilly then why not trade for him, he showed more then enough that he can play in this league and I would way rather have Reilly then Burris. For Montreal, why would they re sign Troy Smith at a bigger contract? In your world how would they possibly be able to afford Burris at 300 000+ with all those big contract talented guys on the Als. With other guys saying that Burris is a big baby (probably true) why in the world would he sign in Montreal when clearly they want to go with Smith in the future?
  8. Says who? Or are you just assuming and making things up on the fly again? Says you!! You wrote - > Again, I'm aware of that, but I think it would be a shame if bickering with Henry over X amount of dollars ends up costing us someone like Henoc. I find your posts to be far from Perfect.... I'd say you're more Brooklyn Brawler with the continuous fails that you make. So this team now has 3 qbs under contract... none of them are making "big money" .... They offered Collaros more money then Hamilton ..... so for some reason you don't think they cant use that same "pot" of money to put towards Burris???? This team is loaded with young guys are very few "big time all stars" so how is it that a team like Calgary can afford to re-sign Tate and Mitchell and sign a cfl vet for a 3rd stringer and yet still be able to pay big money for their all stars like Cornish , Lewis and so many others...... yet Winnipeg wouldn't be able to sign Burris (at a discounted price) and Muamba??? I love how Winnipeg's salary cap is apparently only 20% the size of every other teams..... Having the right mindset isn't always the popular mindset. Now, coming from a guy who was serious about inquiring about Steven Jyles last year...pot meet kettle. Someone like Henoc is an EXAMPLE hence why I said "someone like". The cap will go up, and probably a decent amount because of the new TV deal. The fact is, is that guys like (but not limited to) Turner, Vega, Edwards, Banks, January, Henoc (if he signs) all get paid handsomely. If the team decides to pursue top tier free agents from other teams they will also get paid handsomely. If you think Burris is coming here at a discounted price, you are kidding yourself since there have been reports he has offers in excess of $300,000. Granted that's fair market value for him, and that price will continue to climb as teams continue to negotiate. You're kidding yourself, and frankly making a fool out of yourself (again) if you think Burris is coming here at a discounted price. I never once said Burris signing here would cost us Muamba. I suggested as a hypothetical (that isn't too big of a word for you is it?) that it would be a shame if a band-aid solution in Burris ended up costing us "someone like" Muamba. But hey, keep making yourself look silly, I'm certainly not going to stop you. Once again how does every other team manage to sign free agents while having a high priced qb and lots of other all stars on their team...... you are making yourself look silly. Burris has to come at a discounted price.... using your ridiculous theory how could any other club in the CFL "afford" Burris at a high price when they already have a QB on their team making big money. Discounted price is still higher then what Hall or Pierce was making last season... but it's not like he is going to be making the most money in the league considering he was dumped and his *only* chance at starting is with Winnipeg. Turner, Vega, Edwards, Banks, January, Henoc ???? How did Saskatchewan manage with Durant, Sheets, Dressler, Getzlaf, Geroy Simon, Labatte, Picard, Chick , Foley, Hall etc.... How did Calgary afford Glenn, Tate, Mitchell, Cornish, Lewis, Hughes, Simpson, Tsoumpas etc... But apparently from your theory us signing a bunch of average guys equals us not being able to sign both a QB and one NI LB.... it's hilarious. This team *should* be able to sign a whole crap load of players considering we were the youngest team and we by far had the cheapest set of QB's across the league last year. So many guys on entry level contracts and so few big time players.
  9. But hasn't this been the story of Pavs career starting in Atlanta..... up and down and zero consistency? Which was exactly like the team playing in front of him... But Montoya has been playing much better even when the team in front of him have stunk it up (see Win vs Chicago last week)

  11. When was the last time a team signed and had a press conference on a Weekend.... specially Superbowl weekend!??? Would make only sense to make the announcement mid week...
  12. But hasn't this been the story of Pavs career starting in Atlanta..... up and down and zero consistency?
  13. And once again the fans think we can only afford one player in free agency....
  14. But I've heard of him before!!! And he was in Montreal, every player they have is great! And he had more success then Hall, Goltz and Elliott and whoever else you want to start for our team...
  15. Nieswander has a decent arm and looked good out there. Hall definitely has a weak arm and the whole likes to float the ball like Ricky ray isn't a good excuse.
  16. That game tonight was much closer then it should of been.... the difference in goaltending really showed tonight. While Lack did let in a softy or two..... he robbed us of 3 goals easily. Pavs on the other hand.... making the flashy saves leaving him out of place and luckily the defense bailed him out when he did that late in the 3rd. He wasn't terrible by any means... but he wasn't rock solid either. I really don't understand why Montoya doesn't get more games? The numbers don't lie.... Worst defenseman on the team this season was Clitsome by a mile.... the only guy I see really struggling now with Maurice would be Ladd... the guy is invisible , is scared to take the puck to the net (hence the slapshots from a mile away despite having a clean lane to the net) and he just doesn't seem to be anywhere in the offensive zone. The guys who have stepped up and who you notice playing lately have been Schiefle , Setoguchi and Little.....
  17. If Montreal were to sign him then Nieswander would be a very solid guy to go after.
  18. Well *if* they sign Burris it would be the first time since like 2009 that they signed a qb with any sort of cfl success. Mack failed bigtime at doing that. Same goes for having a cfl coordinator with experience.... If we had any sort of qbing and offense Mack and Burke / Lapo would still be here
  19. Positivity?? Its been so long!
  20. * The Braveheart sad music plays as we deal with the sadness of losing this noble warrior*
  21. No they won't, Montreal has 3 guys who started and had success.. Edmonton isn't paying Reilly to sit on the bench. Nichols aside from injuries had looked good. I doubt they sign him. It'll either be Winnipeg , BC or back with the Riders.
  22. I can't wait until 17 jumps on the bandwagon and starts frothing from his mouth about how awesome Hank is!
  23. This thread delivers! I want them to sign Willy simply for all the potential awesome threads!
  24. Good trade in my books, we need a few vets on this team. This team was really young during Mack's time and with poor coaching it was really double trouble. With Banks at least they have a guy that doesn't require his hand being held and he can go out and play.
  25. That should clear up salary in order for us to sign Willy for 400 000 dolla
