I don't see what's wrong with doing this.... good way to evaluate the new talent. The reason you don't see this happening so much is because most teams are not loaded with rookies and actually have vets and vet depths... Now if we want to look at it through conspiracy goggles.... maybe Burke is doing this to give an excuse and to prevent the media for blasting him after 2 huge blowout exhibition losts where we couldn't put any points on the board.

Been cut by two teams, yet Mack gets flack from Etienne who still is on the same team and looking to play a more large part this year.

No excuses on not being able to trade him for something... No one is ever going to trade with us because they know we'll drop them in an instant. It would be nice if this team could acquire known talent instead of continually losing it.

If I was a smart coach I wouldn't of let myself get into this situation. A smart coach would of axed Buck and kept Elliott and then have an open competition and hopefully Hall or Goltz steps up and takes the job.

Buck went 0-5 and was dinged around.... why is he still around?

I have no problem with the team getting rid of Hefney.... what I don't like is the fact that they couldn't trade him for anything??? How in the world can they not get anything not even a late pick at least for him. At least that way we can dictate where he goes to so he isn't playing for Toronto which more then likely what will happen?? How can they make a rash decision cutting him but don't have the cahjones to cut Pierce who clearly is on a huge decline. The odds of this blowing up in our face is much higher then it working out in the end.....

Awesome video!! Now I don't expect all coaches to be that rah rah... but you definitely noticed all the players paying attention and listening. The last few years I've only seen players showboat , laugh, zoned out despite the fact that the team is losing....

Until you watch old game film of Pinball Clemons getting his Argo players completely pumped and psyched up. Heck look at the drop off of play once Richard Harris passed away... it's been night and day!

I'd agree , considering he stayed in Winnipeg 2 years ago when he was hurt and was coaching high school football. My co worker met and talked with JE and he was extremely friendly and respectful and far from a d-bag with him. I'm guessing JE raised the possibility that the coaches were making bad play calls and decisions and because of that they axed him and went with the Yes man.

No Mitch was complaining that the guys were switching on and off the field and Doug pointed out to Mitch that is how the Bombers d have been playing over the last 2 seasons and it's simply how Burke runs his d-line.

An ugly game indeed and it does make me feel better to see other teams play like crap. That Harris qb is god awful and clearly can only run a qb draw and nothing more.

I liked Swaggerville because the players showed some life and energy. Forget not how PUTRID the offense was during swaggerville days and how the defense held us together during those many 2 and outs and bad field position scenarios. Mike - We cut our best qb because he didn't listen not because of talent. Buck is a great team player and a great human being. Unfortunately for Burke that does not equate to wins and production from the offense. I'd be shitting bricks if I was Burke considering in both pre season games every single qb (aside from ours) moved the ball and scored points. Even in years past with Kelly and Berry we had jobbers like Justin Holland or Richie Williams who could look good in pre season (and then fizzle out once they play against real defenses). We were playing against back ups and yet still managed to stink the joint up. If we don't score 30+ points in Hamilton then full blown crisis will take over Bomber nation fans. I'm at least satisfied with knowing that if things don't work out this year... at least next year we can rebuild and criticize a new coach and a new group of players! No more threads on Buck and Jade and our poop o line!

Pierce as a 3rd stringer qb coach I have no problem with that. I'm sounding like a broken record but to me it's desperation from Burke and instead of having a long term plan he's praying Pierce plays well and that he saves his job for another year or two. It's kind of weird that so many Bomber fans have the same feeling of hoping Pierce goes out with a season ending injury early in order to push Burke to use Goltz/Hall. Or to at least push Mack to trade for Glenn...

Mike what are these red flags you speak of? (I don't disagree but I think it would be good to recap on them!) I don't mind Burke's approach, my only concern similar to LaPo is that the lockeroom does not really respect him and with this young team we may have guys being unmotivated (i.e. playing way below their normal level).

Mike - I lost faith this off season when they didn't give Buck the axe or at least demote him to 3rd string and move into a new direction. If Buck comes back as the starter after being knocked out then I will lol and will anxiously await who will be our new HC next season.

Glenn wasn't often injured, he would be rattled and play scared if he was hit but it wasn't nearly as bad as Buck. With Buck it's simply delaying the inevitable....so for our sakes hopefully Hall gets some decent game time and shows that he can play and by mid season he can at least be serviceable once Buck brakes whatever bones he has left that are healthy. This isn't a huge surprise, we all knew and know what the deal is this year after Mack released Elliott...
