She was obscure until the ten dollar bill. The story was never taught in school and when the bill came out the majority of people only learned of that story at that point. Rosa Parks was a household name, Viola Desmond was and is not. It doesn't mean she isn't worthy of being on the bill.

I'm a bit young and maybe my memory is a bit off on the publics perception of the Royal family. But wasn't Lady Diana absolutely adored and loved by the world to the highest extent all while Charles and the now former Queen vilified for the longest time as being cold and I guess generally looked upon with far less respect then her? I thought most people mainly "like the Queen" because she was a fixture and has been around for so long and her quirks on how she dressed and how she carried herself in public. I don't really remember people really supporting her for her actions. I do remember people being absolutely devastated and crushed when Lady Di was killed because of who she was but also for all the actions she did for the people across the world. I don't think Charles really has much to do to follow suit and I don't think the general public worldwide will really have any high expectations from him. Now if William were to be King, I think it will really be a massive deal and "the popularity" of the Royal family will be renewed and he will have massive expectations since he reminds many people of his mother.

Even though I don't exactly share your opinion, it's nice that you are not afraid to speak in what you believe in and don't back down just because others don't share that same opinion.

Well said and please come back! This site needs more variety in folks posting their own thoughts and opinions!

Dude was such a solid depth player, we could use a few more guys like him on the 3rd/4th line.

Fear can make people do some really strange things. Look at how insane people were at one point buying toilet paper. I look back at Y2K and how some people thought nukes were going to be shot out and the world was going to end. People can toss out all sorts of common sense when they are afraid of the unknown. That being said it is known now and COVID isn't the end of the world, it's just another part of life and people (despite the few folks on here virtue signalling) have adjusted and are moving forward in life. I'm just happy that everyone is back to school, the kids are thrilled, the CFL is going on and Bomber games are packed with fans cheering, I can go out with friends to restaurants , life is good again and that's pretty awesome. No complaints until January when the temp gets super cold and the yearly bitching about why I live in a city where the air hurts my face happens again

In Ontario/Quebec it definitely looks that way. Sometimes change can be good so hopefully if (when?) they win that they make positive changes.

I'm not running to the defense , I'm merely pointing out that you share traits with the guy and that you like to resort to name calling. I didn't see you calling him a spineless coward when he was part of our staff? The guy is a terrible head coach and I would assume is in over his head. I don't think off the field the guy is some spineless coward or is malicious or evil. Dude simply is more of a positional coach then a head coach and nothing wrong with that.

I can safely say that Bigg Jay is not a Young Bucks/Omega mark and isn't a CM Punk hater. If you look online you will find that he's the President and #1 Fan of the one and only Leaping Lanny Poffo! Apparently he's in awe of his poetry and his backstage parlor tricks

Errrrr do we prep a spot on here for the Queen Not looking good.

I know of several people (myself included) who were vaccinated, extremely cautious and always wore a mask and stayed at home only to still get COVID. It's deflating when you get you try to do good and no matter what you still end up getting sick. I think many others were in the same boat and simply tossed in the towel and said "F*** it". On an unrelated note it's mandated to wear a mask in hospitals and clinics. I was in Manitoba Clinic with my little one last week and most definitely wore a mask as did everyone else.... with exception of the door dash driver and when he came in to use the elevators the staff asked him if he had a mask and he said no. They said thats ok go on in... even though the entrances have disposable masks for the public. When medical facilities don't care anymore then it's awfully hard for the general public to care anymore.

The irony of you of all people posting this lol! It's kind of mean to call a former Bomber coach spineless and a coward. Maybe in his mind he thinks what he's doing is correct and it's more of a situation that he lacks experience or knowledge on how to be a good head coach rather then him being a coward.
-
It's not only the fairweather fans, that's why I made light of the situation on here because a lot of fans wanted him gone after losing the Montreal game and now are praising the guy.

The lays Chicken + Tomato flavour is actually pretty good, we tried it last week and it wasn't overly salty and had a nice mild taste to it.

I can only imagine how poor of a fight it looked with a large group of guys who have no idea how to really fight. CM Punk's only other fight that I know of outside of the UFC was when Teddy Hart kicked his ass. The Young Bucks don't strike me as individuals who have ever been in a fight or could ever handle themselves in a fight. I'm picturing a large slap fest.

Somewhere Unknown poster is seething at this comment. I would assume Punk would have more pull since he is the biggest star even though the others are vps. From my wrestling friends and dealings most people said Kenny was really quiet and chill and not a ego fighting type of guy. Just a slightly weird person. I'm guessing Cornette may have been correct all along about the Bucks. I'd assume it's mostly them causing the troubles.

Where is Unknown Poster... What's the deal with Kenny Omega and CM Punk and the Young Bucks? Is this backstage brawl legit or am I falling for a work?
-
You would be shocked at how many more people have similar records.

I will trust Walters/O'Shea/Pierce on deciding if a guy should be with the club or not. I think they have a solid judgement on talent

In fairness most folks on this site suggest that folks in Saskatchewan are inbred knuckledraggers so I guess it really depends on who or what you are talking about.

Can you legally purchase cigarettes? How does smoking in private prevents cancer more then smoking in public? Wouldn't less people have lung cancer if they were not able to smoke cigarettes anywhere? The point is that a simple thing like cigarettes could be outlawed but the Gov't will not do this because people would flip out. If they were to do another lockdown and mask mandate... I think people will riot based on the fact that the vast majority of the public have moved on and are no longer living in fear and accept that COVID is just a part of life.
-
Shouldn't health orders also ban all unhealthy foods since heart disease is the 2nd leading cause of deaths? Shouldn't cigarettes be completely removed since it results in cancer and unhealthy bodies? Alchoal is a luxury and not a necessity, people are killed from drunk drivers shoudln't that be completely abolished? We can save many lives by making simple changes but will society accept these changes that I mention above? I can't foresee the future and or make any sweeping changes but I will guess based on my own opinions that if they ever consider another full blown lockdown that society will simply riot and not accept it. People in the last few years followed orders out of fear of the unknown, I don't think tweets like the one above will have very much if any effect on anyone these days into scaring them into going back into hiding from COVID. It's not 2021 anymore, people know better and simply will accept that it's a part of now modern day life and will go back to attending school, going to Bomber games, going to restaurants and living life to the fullest. So once again where am I wrong in what I said in my original post? Am I just really out of touch in saying that people are going out unmasked and living life similar to pre pandemic times?
-
Nobody said the pandemic was over. I said that people are treating it like it's over. 99% of the places I've been are not enforcing masks/limited entry/social distancing. Nearly everywhere I've gone in public has zero masks with exception of some of the older folks. So I ask again where am I wrong?

Resting Ellingson until the play offs? -
Based on my outings both in the States and around Winnipeg, I'm pretty sure everyone is moving on and treating it like it's over.
