  1. Stanback is awesome and a real pain in the ass in every single game to bring down. How he gets $150 and mediocre talent gets double is baffling.
  2. Did anyone try any Poutines out around town during poutine week? We had Jonseys which was good but a pretty safe dish. Anyone have anything unique/different?
  3. Well he did out perform him so it's a possibility? Also he doesn't have a large injury on his resume (AFAIK).
  4. A huge over pay. Great deal for Montreal!
  5. How can you judge any receiver when for years we had bums throwing the ball to them. Things picked up and instantly our receivers were better once we brought in Nichols up until he was far to hurt and then suddenly our receivers disappeared again. Magically these receivers started getting the ball and moving the yards with Strev.... and then disappeared again with a really bad Nichols.... and then boom the moment we get Zach ... Bailey, Lawler, Demski and whoever else started getting catches and moving the chains again. The guys we had in camp last season looked great and unfortunately the injury bug hit a few of the new guys. I have ZERO impression that this team cannot scout receivers. Our issues in the past wasn't the talent of the receivers... it was Nichols and possibly the offense of LaPolice which didn't stretch teams. Great points... I really do like the idea with Harris. I also don't see what the issue is with the size of Bailey? Him growing one inch doesn't instantly make him a deep threat and a much better player? I could see if he was a tiny guy like Banks but he's not?
  6. Noticed how much better Lawler and Bailey looked once they removed the real issue with the receivers..... Kind of hard to judge a receiver when the ball is 5 yards short and out of reach for them.
  7. Lets sign random guys because I am familiar with the last name and they had success many years ago! OR Maybe we can scout someone new and not over pay and possibly get a guy with a way higher ceiling coming in on a lower price tag?
  8. Not concerned at all, maybe he has a few guys on his radar that he wants to bring into the league. Receivers and RB's are a dime a dozen and not the position that you have to over pay to bring an older guy in. Plus if he wants a vet presence why not bring back Adams?
  9. I do not remember reading that.
  10. Masoli to Ottawa is a good move for them, he's good at moving from the pocket and throwing on the run. A significant upgrade over Nichols and Davis.
  11. Would you say Lawler is better then Stegall because of the rings?
  12. I can't remember in recent times anyone leaving the team and trashing it on the way out? Maybe a few guys early in the O'Shea timeline like Banks?
  13. So we don't want to sign him for a 1 day contract to retire as a Bomber
  14. Augustine averaged 7.1 yards per carry, Brady averaged 4.6 , Harris 5.4. Harris is clutch and their isn't a way to use a metric for that but it's not like these other guys we have are complete bums. Augustine appears to also be a solid guy..... http://michaelphall.ca/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/PH20848-copy.jpg
  15. Destroying the league.... because it now has 1 global punter. Sounds like a good team player , so has he signed with Edmonton yet?>
  16. Do you think Winnipeg would not sign him for a league minimum type contract? Clearly the only reason the Blue would move on from him is the money + age / health factor. No need to nit pick with JCon just because the main point I had made possibly resonates with the both of you? It's fun to **** on other teams for making silly decisions or to make fun of Rider fans for being off... but you can't pretend that this doesn't happen on these boards as well with our own fans. The only possible way I was wrong in my original post is if the Blue Bombers absolutely do not want Harris and would even refuse to sign him for the smallest contract offer possible. Everything that we have read so far has shown that this is not the case.
  17. Where are the comments about how he can be signed for under 200k?
  18. Go back 2 - 3 pages and read? Bad optics on the team , team having to do the right thing, Harris HAS to come back etc.....
  19. It's been bad for years , I don't think any of this can be resolved in a matter of months or even years. Definitely change will need to be made but growing pains will be endured.
  20. I'm confused by Noeller and few others..... Stupid BC for spending $250 000 on a receiver with only one break out season and with the team already having 2 great receivers in Burnham and Whitehead. Same person: Stupid Winnipeg for not spending $200 000 + for Andrew Harris who is older and coming off injury plague season despite having Johnny Augustine and "potentially" Brady Oliveria who both are fully capable at doing a great job at RB. Don't get me wrong Harris is awesome and can still contribute... I don't see him as a full time back anymore and if we are limited on dollars to spend I'd rather those bigger dollars go to Stove or Alexander. You never over pay at RB/WR as they are a dime a dozen to recruit and put in. Ideally Harris comes back on a reduced workload and maybe they can be creative and give him a handshake deal where he's the RB coach after he retires.
  21. Khari is the black QB whisperor? I'm guessing they signed him because they don't want to scout any new QB talent and/or hope that he only does 3rd down plunges?
  22. I have a mini rant.... https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action?pid=1310070801&pickMembers[0]=1.8&cubeTimeFrame.startYear=2010&cubeTimeFrame.endYear=2020&referencePeriods=20100101%2C20200101 Hopefully that big link above works, I'm not diminishing the role of COVID and the seriousness of it all, but in the grand scheme of things is the amount of deaths really a number that people should be freaking out over? The ICU issues are very real but this isn't something new that suddenly popped up in 2019. In the last ten years our families have had to go through 4 different people with Cancer and even back in 2012 our whole system here in Manitoba was subpar and nearly every different area was strained for staff and the "service level" or whatever you call it from the patient perspective has been terrible. I'm thinking the physical and mental health of the whole public at this point is a serious factor to consider, do we all isolate and many people become physically unhealthy and suffer long term mental health issues in hopes that one day it magically goes away? From my own world with my friends and workplace, the people who I have known to have COVID all followed the rules strictly and were double vaxxed wearing masks and staying at home and yet they still ended up being infected. Physically I know a whole lot more people who have put on "COVID" weight then people who have lost weight in the last 2 years. Mentally I've noticed a huge impact on my children and many other parents I speak with have said the same. The cancelled activities and the isolation from interaction with other kids has really taken a huge toll on the kids. This year my eldest was ecstatic to go back to school in Fall and then once again back to school last month from the extended Christmas break. These kids are suffering and I always get a kick about reading online when people usually non parents say "Keep the kids at home, close the schools, what's wrong with the Gov't for trying to spread the disease". The ignorance is unbelievable. I look back at my days at school and I remembered the bullied kids who were ostracisized and basically ignored and left alone and reflecting back and seeing how they progressed over the years it was terrible how much mental suffering those kids had and I totally wish that no kids would ever get bullied (suffer mental health issues) because it really shaped who they become in a serious way. I look at my Dad who was supposed to pass away 2 years ago from Cancer and is still hanging on and the amount of severe depression the man has had over the last 6 months its terrible. The guy having to spend half his time now in a clinic/hospital getting treatment and then only for him to be told that he has to stay at home all by himself and can't visit friends or his grand kids and basically rob him of any sort of joy in life. It wasn't fun trying to get the guy to stop talking about having no will to live anymore. I've also talked with friends who had parents who this year went away fully knowing the risks with basically the same attitude of "I only have so much time left on this planet". I am so very thankful that I have a good job and I can work home, but I can only imagine the folks who work jobs that depend on foot traffic (retail/restaurants/other) and having a massive strain on keeping employment, getting sufficient hours, dealing with the rising cost of goods, etc... At some point you have to pivot the course of action and just deal with the fact that at some point everyone is going to get infected by whatever different kind of strain the keeps coming out and they need Plan B or maybe the next evolution of how to deal with this crisis. The Provincial Gov't or probably more so the Federal Gov't have really dropped the ball on expanding or evolving our medical care in dealing with this and really should be held accountable. Maybe it's time we go to semi-private medical care or come up with a radical solution for those who are not vaxx (tax them heavily?) who knows. All I know is that everything closing down on an annual basis and then taking needles every 6 months is not working and isn't a proper long term solution. Ideally we live in a utopian society where nobody dies and everything is great, but unfortunately that's not reality. If we want to cut back on the annual deaths in Canada then we can save numbers by banning alchoal (nearly 1500 people die from drunk driving per year) , ban unhealthy foods (who knows how many people die from obesity related deaths) , ban cigarettes and/or other potential cancer inducing foods, etc.... Clearly this isn't going to happen because unless we want to be completely limited on our enjoyments in life. At some point you need to have a balance and I think that point is happening now so in my opinion I don't blame some provinces for opening up. End of rant.
  23. So they don't want to run an offense with zero backs and a 5 receiver set
  24. Once again... can we not use Harris in a Demski role?
