  1. There is no equipment. Flags and a couple balls I guess. Tackle is $290. There are no set practice fields, the games are held on fields that tackle uses from what I understand. There can't be that many refs per game, I've seen this flag football being played and there are never more than 2 that I can see. No facility costs for storing equipment. Coaches are volunteers (They ask if a parent would want to coach at the end of registration). So insurance, field costs and a couple shirts (all of which I pay for to play touch and it's almost half the cost). And like I said this is some how in partnership with the Bombers. How expensive would it be if they weren't partnered?? Or is it just a name recognition thing? I don't know...but I really hope someone in that organization knows that is a problem. I'm very likely going to be signing up, but damn the amount of kids who aren't going to be able to due to only cost...they gotta fix that.
  2. Totally off topic. But I'm kinda annoyed with football manitoba right now. Maybe someone here can shed some light. My son wants to play football but he is only old enough for flag football (which is some how linked to the Bombers as it's called Bomber futures or something close). The cost is $245.00...for flag football!? Why? Tackle is $290. The real kicker here is to play soccer (same amount of games) is $65. We don't qualify for assistance or anything and I'm not trying to come off as if we're hurting for $ either....but damn the budget is tight right now. And $65 is a lot easy to justify than $245!!! Talk about helping grow the game of football....that's gonna continue to be difficult at that price point considering the alternatives. And just for comparison, I've played touch football for close to 20 years and have never payed more than $150.
  3. Yeah it's a delicate situation right now. I learned that the response time for a nuke attack (like between when you learn one is on the way and it hitting the target) is only a few minutes now. Which is ******* terrifying really.
  4. I actually think that's a pretty good pick up by them. Assuming they don't make him play tackle.
  5. Well if Madani says it's happening, it must be true...
  6. More on the CPC will never go after public health: https://twitter.com/doreennicoll61/status/1504114985382862849?t=R7yVzppBJ_uMR7C2-nqDqA&s=19
  7. Again, we REALLY need a WTAF button. cause What the actual **** was that? Wow that was in such poor taste.
  8. Funny I was actually thinking about making the Private clinics/profits pay into the public funding. That actually seems like a pretty solid way to keep things fairly even.
  9. The biggest concern is quality of care. Private clinics would likely have the opportunity to pay their employees (doctors/nurses etc) more than a publicly funded one. Meaning the best doctors etc would only be available to those who could afford to pay for them...and if it starts snowballing eventually you're left with a public system that is over worked, understaffed and under qualified. Even if the public system is well funded it likely won't be able to compete with a free market. I had a family friend who moved south a few decades ago because she got a job offer from a hospital in chicago to do the same job but doubled her salary (I actually believe it was a bit more than doubled) and payed for the moving expenses including their rent until they found a house they liked. Now obviously that anecdotal but it's the premise people worry about.
  10. I didn't say there was no corruption. That's actually kind of my point. We as a society are essentially incapable of keeping corruption out. It's inevitable at pretty much every level of society. Some systems hide it better than others and CAN have checks and balances in place to keep it from getting completely out of control (see our healthcare system), but that usually involves voting and not relying on the free market to decide. And no I do not have an answer to that situation that wouldn't involve loads of chaos. The truth still stands though.
  11. That's just good marketing lol.
  12. I understand what you mean. BUT...if he wasn't going to make change (which I think we can all agree is very much needed in that party right now), he had the opportunity to show that he was able. And imo he fell on his face hard! Woulda coulda shoulda is very much a party line and was 100% given to him as an answer for that type of question. He's towing the party line just like the rest. Never mind the 500K his business got on top of that. I would be willing to bet that he eventually becomes the leader of the provincial party and is no better than the rest.
  13. Technically I agree with you. However, once you add in humans (especially those in charge of making change/progress/being leaders) to that equation it's literally only a matter of time before the system is corrupted. I think that's what a lot of people fear, and rightfully so. I have absolutely zero faith in our governments ability to keep corruption out of anything. I actually think it IS warranted. She isn't just another politician. She is the "leader" of a major political party, one that has very recently come under fire for their support of the convoy. The same convoy who apparently has a lot of members supporting russia. The way the world works now, she needs to be very conscious of what she is or is not doing when it comes to showing support or not for any given cause.
  14. Not sure I'd consider that a "hit piece". I'm sure their numbers aren't perfect, but it would not surprise me in the least if they were close to correct. 87K for BA sounds about right if he's on the 6 game to start.
  15. Right now it's actually not a problem. Both kickers lead the league in field goal percentage and lead the league in punting average. It won't be a problem until the kickers come out and show that it's a problem. All it is right NOW is fodder for forums.
  16. It wasn't long ago that you were saying the culture is gone...lol. Just sayin...we all go through it eventually!
  17. He wasn't let go due to performance his first time around. We had Medlock...so not quite the same.
  18. We really need a WTAF button added on this forum.
  19. I've tried finding info on him, but it hasn't been clear
  20. PBS did an interview with the Mayor of Konotop. They blurred out the portrait behind him because....it was a photo of a Nazi Leader Stepan Bandera. The mayor (Semenikhen) is a well know Neo-Nazi apparently. He said during the interview he's using American weapons to kill Russians. Kind of a damned if you damned if you don't situation. But the west needs to be VERY careful doing this. Especially with the propaganda out of Russia that they are de-nazifying Ukraine.
  21. Yes of course. But Russia (along with most powerful countries) also have agencies where their only job is to implant misinformation and create division. Russia has been real good at it in North America. Just google Russian Troll farms for some examples. I would bet a lot of money the majority of profiles in those convoy forums aren't actually real people.
  22. Not sure about the $$ but certainly the fake profiles to boost #'s in the social media groups/pages/accounts etc. It's been shown that many extremist facebook groups and even some religious ones are run by bots/trolls. My twitter feed in particular has a lot less Trudeau hate and a lot less "vaccines are killing people" posts since the war started.
  23. It's almost like they're Russian themselves...
  24. I suggest you look for them
  25. Not really. He only played 1 quarter I think...before having his season end due to injury.
