  1. He wants to prove to everyone else he still has it. But isn't that exactly what the Bombers wanted? For him to prove it via a work out? There's only 1 reason he wouldn't want to do that. Good luck to him, I hold no ill will at all. He's an all time great and it sucks his time with the Bombers ended this way. But I feel like the Bombers made the right call even more now. I was waiting for someone to say this. That's just kinda what happens with emotions. But I also don't think anyone is dumping on him. Just speaking truth to what the situation is(according to the article anyway).
  2. Honestly I'm surprised he wouldn't want to show them he's in shape/capable etc. Why wouldn't he? There's really only 1 answer that makes sense.
  3. I saw that but didn't think it was sour grapes. Just motivating himself
  4. They also used Briggs and Gauthier pretty often on Defense during the 2nd half of the year. So there are options to help fill the CND void left by Kongbo.
  5. I'm not saying Oliviera is as good as Harris. I just think it's insane to suggest that a rookie should be as good as an all time great and that you should ride a 35yr old RB until the wheels come completely off. You know there are more factors in play to down field passing than just the RB ability to block as well and like I said he was likely to see things that he hadn't in the past. It's not surprising/it's common sense that they didn't leave him out there to dry and get a qb killed. Yes you build to win now...that's the goal. That doesn't mean never moving on when you have a viable/cheaper/younger backup. I'm fairly confident Walters and crew know what they're doing.
  6. I don't understand the Oliviera can't block narrative. He picks up blitzes just fine. People need to remember Oliviera was a rookie last year, not officially, but he was. Of course he was going to see things that were completely new to him. That doesn't mean he can't block lol. He also had the same amount of 100 yrd games as Harris did.
  7. Good for Harris. TO is a great spot for him. Isn't that Foster kid a Canadian as well? I can see Harris doing pretty well there, though I think it will be in the pass game more than the run. Good luck to him, except in week 4. The Game that really shifted the Bombers Fortune was that great come back against MTL. Harris' will to get into that endzone will always be something I remember. That win really kick started the franchise to get to where it is now. He's a legend in my eyes for that game alone. Hope we are able to honour him sooner than later.
  8. I'd honestly rather go with a straight up rookie instead of Harris. That guy just bothers me lol. I don't know why, he obviously produces (yards) and knows the game...but he's just weird man.
  9. Sayles is very good. Stove is as well. I'm not sure if it's a wash completely, cause Stove just seems to get after the ball carrier. I'm the most optimistic about that spot having no noticeable change in production.
  10. Castillo rumoured to be heading further West....think it was Edmonton if I'm not mistaken.
  11. He was absolutely a difference maker for the Elks last year when he joined. One of the lone bright spots on that D.
  12. I gotta credit to Mike for calling Adams signing out back in the day. I remember him saying he hoped the Bombers picked him up from TO. I had no idea who he was and was skeptical, but it turned out pretty good. Darvin is legit one of my all time favorite players, I love the edge he constantly played on.
  13. Oh right. I forgot about that
  14. I'm surprised that Edm decided to stick with Walker and not Elingson Considering the year they both had. But hey, their lose is our gain!
  15. I keep seeing the argument both in here and online that says "I thought the league had no money" or something along those lines in reference to high ticket salaries. People know that the salary cap doesn't change if you spend a good chunk of it on 1 player right? Like Edmonton doesn't get more salary cap room because of Lawlers contract....we all know that right? His contract does not reflect the financial situation of the CFL in general...again we all know that right? Also the revised history in the thread is cute. Lawler was far and away the best receiver in the league last year, while playing 1 less game. He's a big loss that will not be easily replaced. We can pretend that we have his replacement already here but history shows that likely isn't the case, ditto with Elingson coming on and being more productive.
  16. Hammy also signed Jackson. Interesting irons didn't look elsewhere
  17. You're assuming he doesn't already know this
  18. Why would wade be needed? Would Oshea have a better handle on things, player relationship wise.....and if for whatever reason THAT relationship was torn, why would the club even want to bring Harris back?
  19. If Moncreif doesn't land in SSK I'll be blown away.
  20. I don't know if they can honestly. Not sure why Bob would think it would hurt the league...the team signing those yes...and maybe because they'll likely be less competitive than a balanced team that is what he meant...but otherwise I'm not sure how higher salaries is a bad thing.
  21. They just resigned him. I don't think they're in a spot to spend money for fun.
  22. I don't know...his 1st year and bit here weren't exactly stellar...coincidently our Oline also sucked then. When our Oline started to come together, Harris took off. It really does need to be both, not one or the other...unless you have a guy like Charles Roberts
  23. I don't see how the Elks make any sense either. They have their starter and a solid back up who imo should be their starter over Wilder.
