That article is 100% click bait. End of story.

That's too bad. Gotta sting going through the entire season and being held out for something like that. Just gut wrenching. -
CFL Awards (Still Schenelys To Me)
Bigblue204 replied to Pete Catan's Ghost's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There is no longer any debate about it. Stanley Bryant is the Greatest Offensive Lineman the CFL has ever seen. -
Baseball/hockey.....sure....I can understand where you're coming from. At a football game..? That's a bit of a stretch.

I know it sucks that the prairie teams will be floating the league basically, but keep in mind that Rogers/Bell etc are very large corporate entities with very little "human" decision making capabilities. Single owners like the Braleys of the world can understand why their team took a hit year and year and even be ok with it. Companies with stock holders DO NOT. They see only 1 thing and that's the amount of $$ they made or lost. End of discussion. No if ands or buts. And if a section of said company is only losing money year after year after year, they will let it die or sell it off. The league can't afford to lose a team right now. So what it comes down to, is making sure those companies don't see red after Q4 when it comes to the CFL.

Not to derail the thread, but of course there's an idiot on twitter blaming this on the vaccine lol. -

just not 3 plays in a row I think hamilton tries to establish the run. They'll use a lot of motion and get a few different guys involved. While I don't think it will be a repeat of the WF in terms of turnovers, I do worry that Collaros's luck with poorly placed/timed throws has ended. He got away with quite a few bad throws this year (especially deep) that I hope he gets figured out this week. -
Agreed. CFL wired used to be fun to watch, this year it has been so boring I stopped watching mid season. They don't show anything new and most of the time the players that are mic'd up are so boring they add nothing at all.

Yeah the article definitely plays up the victim hood. I really hope Tony gave it to Gainey after catching it, cause I've played football with him (Tony) and his hands are suspect at best lol. So if he caught it, it couldn't have been too bad!! lol. Saying that, there's no doubt in my mind that the ball would have been a rock. Anyone who thinks differently just needs to go outside today and toss a real football around a bit to find out.
-
lol. I could see this being true if Gainey tossed the ball into the crowd like literally every other player - lobbing it high and far. That's typically what occurs. But that's not what happened. Those fans don't sit 15 rows up or even 10. They are in the first couple of rows right behind the bench. If Gainey was celebrating and whipped the ball, perhaps he was trying to throw it at the wall (and just missed) like some players do....i could believe that. But to say he was celebrating by chucking the ball (apparently hard) into the first 3 rows behind a bench is a bit of stretch, but also a very typical Tburg response. Also should be mentioned that those fans are relentless (which I love) so I could absolutely see them getting under the skin of some players. It's happened in the past. Again, these guys are not row 5 and up. I believe they all sit within the first 3 rows directly behind the bench. I know because I watch them all game long from my seats and have for a few years now.

Some yes. But not all.

people who don't actually know what war is about always bring this up. And it's shocking the disconnect that's apparent. Choice vs no choice doesn't seem to connect with them. They also seem to forget that the one thing that helped bring them out of WWII was a massive collective effort from multiple countries and individuals gladly giving up their own freedoms even when faced with certain death, to help out those who didn't have a choice. There also seems to be a lot of people who very much want to be seen as oppressed. And any inconvenience regardless of how trivial is now being used as a war cry!
-
Not quite. There are very real people who have had very real consequences dealing with the bolded. Trauma/health issues/death etc etc etc. I'm not saying everyone who mistrusts though agencies have a lived experience that would warrant it. But some do. Hence writing people off who hold those concerns is not a valid response in my opinion.

Oh ok. I didn't know that. Makes me feel better about his future with us!

This is assuming Eli is allowed back in the country next year.

If you find yourself painting people with a broad brush, you're probably wrong. Nothing involving humans is black and white or wrong vs right...thats an idealistic way of looking at the world and a bit ignorant. Likewise if you don't believe that any conspiracy theories are true you're also ignoring facts and provable science. People have trust issues with Government, big oil, pharma etc for good reason. And to simply write those reasons off as hysterical thoughts from unscientific minds is asinine.

If your goal is to reach someone using logic on social media, you're already doomed for failure. It's not your job to convince total strangers online (who may very well be children/bots/foreign agents etc. These conversations are only appropriate in person or maybe over the phone. Anything else is a waste of time.

This pandemic has shown that we are even more removed from the World wars than I thought. The amount of team work/buy in/giving up ones own freedom all for one cause, that took place during those times is so much greater than what we have now. People have no concept of how it could be possible to do something quickly and on a mass scale. I got into a debate around retro fitting ventilation systems to make them more effective against Covid and my buddy was convinced it was FAR too large a job to do and there would be no way to get everyone on board. I gave up trying to convince him that it is possible.

me and my buddies have been calling him Speedy B**** for a while now -
It wouldn't surprise me to see him back here. Collaros isn't going to play forever, and I dont think it would be insane to suggest the bombers would replace McGuire with Streveler.
-
Without knowing the specifics I'm not going to hold it against Eli. Maybe he had a severe reaction to the 1st shot etc etc. I don't know and or care. At the end of the day, it's more detrimental to him than the team.

Another stellar showing by TSN and their CFL coverage. Get a notification about them live streaming the coaches interviews. Great, this will be nice to listen to during my morning routine....I wait online for 30min before it starts...which it does...but its in the middle of one of Coach Os answers....whatever, maybe there was a delay in getting the feed up and running. Buuuuuut then it also ended in the middle of one of Coach Os answers lol. Could you imagine that happening in any other league? Lol Those studies are almost always quoted wrong. If those who are vaccinated become ILL then yes, their viral load is similar to unvaxxed for a very short period of time (24-48hrs). But those people will hopefully be isolating themselves.....those who are not sick, but are infected have a much lower viral load than those who are not vaxxed and infected (but asymptomatic).

There's an on going message these days that everyone's opinion is valid. And that's just not true.
