  1. Nichols sure. But I'm not convinced Arbuckle is anything more then a product of a solid system. He hasn't really impressed me all that much honestly.
  2. Naylor now talking about how the XFL might just put a franchise in Canada. lol He just can't let go.
  3. Sports Net (and some TSN employees) are challenging fans who complained about the XFL talks to "put their money where their mouth is". And honestly that straight up pisses me off. I've spent a damn fortune on this team, but my spending habits are the problem? **** right off. Sure they're mostly talking about the major markets that are lacking....but the logic bending that needs to happen, to assume fans who took the time to care/complain about those issues are also the fans that dont spend enough is ******* insulting. Tim from sports net even talked about how successful other domestic leagues are...well (I'm assuming) completely ignoring the way their media/social media accounts treat those leagues. I'm so sick of TSN/SN and the CFL blaming the fans for the ******* mess they're in. Fans have been complaining for years about lack of innovation from the league and the lack of actual support from the media, but noooo it's all on us? **** you! Ok rant over...
  4. This (Bolded part) applies to how much we know about Roster management as well. As far as any of us know, they've tried to get Jennings/Franklin/Glenn/Allen/Dunigan to come back. They don't tell the fans about players they weren't able to sign. And again at the end of the day, it's up the the Vet player to WANT to come here to fight for a back up job which will likely end up being a PR spot. Good luck! As for the grooming QBs. This regimes score isn't great, but they do have 1 qb who won a back up job in the NFL and is hopefully on his way back before October. I'm willing to give them the benefit of doubt with McGuire. Something else that is forgotten, Mcguire by most accounts out played Streveler in the 2019 preseason. Obviously there are a lot of factors in those games. But he has still shown that he can sit in the pocket and not look out of place.
  5. exactly Steve. Bodog knows rider fans are dumb enough to dump money onto that bet. It has very little to do with actual playing ability.
  6. I just can't fathom the amount of stupid it takes to make comments like that. "Like all liberals". Wtf.
  7. A thing that is often forgotten by fans, is the team needs the vet player to WANT to come here. And in the case....come here and sit on the PR. Also I believe the report on Jennings is that he just doesn't put in the work needed to be a successful qb. And the culture of this team doesn't gel with that type of attitude.
  8. It's really going to be interesting to see what happens when they're put back up. Pallister said toppling them was a waste of tax payer money cause now they have to be repaired/put back up. Which to me seems like an extra waste of money considering there is no chance in hell they aren't vandalized even more once that happens...outside of a 24/7 security team watching them...which would also be a waste of money.
  9. Basically what I'm trying to say. If you're offended at a statue being brought down or the way it was brought down. You should buckle up. Because I believe it will be getting much worse (unfortunately there will be numerous compounding issues as well) because those who hold the power will not be giving it up willingly (even if they say nice words/pass nice laws etc). Hopefully I'm wrong.
  10. "I have no problem with getting rid of statues or changing the name of schools but do it lawfully. I don't agree with vandalism. Burning down churches solves what, exactly? Besides turning off mainstream society who believe in law & order. If things are to change then anarchy won't propel the change. It'll set back reconciliation. Eventually, I think that people who would support the cause of reconciliation will eventually get turned off." Those are your words right? What do you think reconciliation will entail? I'm saying that I don't believe there will be reconciliation without vandalism/violence/law breaking. I think it is an unfortunate outcome of reconciliation. I'm also saying that those are the things that bring about major societal changes like reconciliation. At least throughout history. I understand people think we can move forward with reconciliation with nice words/policies/laws etc. I just don't think that will happen. Because for true reconciliation to happen, there would need to be a power swing/change. And like I mentioned, those in power don't just turn it over. I saw a meme online that said something like this: "You came for our children, we came for your statues" Quite frankly we are extremely lucky that only statues and buildings have fallen. I'm not sure I'd show the same grace if it were my children being discovered.
  11. Just go look at a map of what the Spaniards conquered and what the brits conquered. I'm not saying the other empires didn't do a lot of bad ****. But the British are in a league of their own.
  12. I agree that most Empires leave a trail if **** but...if you don't know the British empire is far and away the worst out of the bunch I dont know what to say. Do it within the system that put up the statue in the 1st place? That denied survivors? That stole and killed children? You honestly think that would happen? Lol. It's always the people who want to "save history" that have a seemingly complete lack of understanding of human history. The powerful NEVER give up that power willingly. NEVER. There will be no reconciliation without major upheaval. That includes laws being broken, violence, riots etc etc. It's nice that people believe these things CAN happen, but that's just not how the real world works unfortunately. And yeah it's gonna suck if the hive turns on me and mine. It won't be fair, it will be scary and it will be hard. The same way it was hard for those who had their kids stolen from them. What goes around comes around....unfortunately it's not always on the people who deserve it most. Again, that's reality. I've been saying for years that it's only a matter of time before the western world is held accountable for the sins of it's fathers....its going to happen. 100%. And at this point it's not gonna be fair to those who committed no horrible acts. But life ain't fair. **** happens that isn't fair all the time. And people can continue to say it's not right, it's not lawful, 2 wrongs don't make a right etc etc etc. All these things to protect what we all have now. The society we enjoy, the freedoms etc...are all on the backs of someone else. It is only a matter of time before it's our turn to carry a load...be ready cause it's gonna suck. We have a lie in our society that we aren't our ancestors. That we wouldn't do what they did. All the while...we are supporting very similar practices, they just happen on other continents. Out of site, out of mind. "In 100 years should we be judged for what we are doing now?" Is often asked...and if you don't think the answer is 100% overwhelmingly, undeniably YES. I'd urge you to step out of your comfort zone and really look at what we have done to eachother.
  13. They will not! That's why (in part anyway) statues go up, and then they come down. This isn't some anomaly new to this generation. It happens throughout history. And again, this was about 1 thing. Removing a monument to a murderer of children. I find it baffling that anyone would protest such a thing.
  14. Lol yeah all those history lessons taking place in front of statues. I wonder where the classes have been taking place since covid hit? Man we should really invent a place where people can go to really learn about humanities past. Both good and bad. We can have statues, and displays and even plaques that provide descriptions for those things. I even have a name for it, we should call them museums! I know its an odd word, but trust me it'll catch on. For real though, statues come up and they go down. That's some history for you. Further more, the specific statue that started this conversation had nothing to do with teaching history and everything to do with honoring a *****. So **** that *****. And I truly hope that in 50/100/500 yrs time humanity will look back at us and think, wtf where they doing? That's called progress (well hopefully progress and not regression). I want humanity to get better not stay like it is.
  15. Yeah, we should really get on with it and bring those ******* things down. It's not hard to figure out. If you were involved in genocide or child rape/murder/kidnapping etc you don't deserve a monument. Bringing those down isn't about holding someone accountable. It's about NOT glorifying them for their unspeakable acts. Honestly I just don't get what people are so upset by? What will it take if dead children don't do it for you? Why are people so defensive of a ***** of person and a system that she headed?
  16. Why does it HAVE to accomplish something though? Is it not good enough that we removed a monument to a person who headed a state led genocide? She was the leader of a system that helped kill/rape/etc etc etc children for christ sake. I honestly don't understand how people don't see the pain behind the actions. If my children are killed, I'm doing everything I can for the rest of my life to destroy the person responsible. This is just a part of mourning, sometimes you break ****. **** the queen, **** that statue.
  17. If we can get 14 games out of him, before the playoffs, I'm good with that.
  18. I've seen the reports but I didn't see anyone say it was covid. Has Toews said that it was?
  19. Jefferson Jeffcoat and Adams are in the City!! We're so close!!
  20. I think we have the replacement for Rose already. Though I'm not expecting the same impact. I'm concerned about Sayles spot. Letting him get signed by BC was a mistake in my opinion. Very under rated player.
  21. He's saying the bar is wearing the big play chain.....
  22. Ive mentioned before that I was "lucky" enough to learn about assimilation schools early. I stopped celebrating Canada after that. It caused some tensions with my family when I brought up why I dont want to...thankfully like many others, the discovery of the children brought out the empathy from my family and this year they won't be celebrating Canada day. Instead just quietly reflecting. I've now got a built in excuse to not celebrate today, as it's my son's birthday! 7yrs old! Since we first watched them in the hospital room I've told him the fireworks are for him!!
  23. He's decent on ST. Banks doing more complaining IC. Not sure if he wants to play this year...I get it, I honestly do. But damn that guy complains alot!!
