  1. My Wife and children are perpetually annoyed at how often I rewatch that amazing game!!
  2. Was that the game Duraint started crying?
  3. Kinda interesting that Santiago is listed as a WR.
  4. MBT and Nichols could have easily gotten the Bombers to a 3rd place finish with a quick playoff exit. Could have been well worth the price!
  5. Yeah, they came back positive for "Grey cup MVP" with a large amount of "Most outstanding Canadian" apparently the side effect won't be seen until next year. Should show around his finger as a big ass ring.
  6. What did the last GC winning QB get as a signing bonus?
  7. It's not a justification, it's a factor. And "bad contract" is your opinion, not mine.
  8. And without the Grey Cup factor.
  9. I'd suggest getting your glasses fixed They will bring in a few guys for TC. But I'd be very surprised if it isn't those two come week 1.
  10. Nevis/Willie/Adams and I'm satisfied.
  11. I really hope the Bombers are not even thinking of offering Nichols a contract now (and I suspect they aren't going to). MBT/Nichols are on the downside of their career. Bombers need a backup with potential. They have one now. No need to **** with that.
  12. Prepare to be disappointed then. He will 100% be the back up (outside of Strev coming back).
  13. I mean, if you can get two guys with their talent level. Why not? That would be the ideal situation. Except maybe for the response of media/fans when one has a shitty game. I'd like to see Collaros and Mcguire to start the year personally. With Mcguire getting significant time in the pre season and regular season games. Really want to see what that guy is made of.
  14. We will have to agree to disagree about what "throwing someone under the bus" means. Telling a player they won't be pursuing them before FA starts, as far as I see it anyway, is the right way to do business in the CFL. Let them know where you stand, Nichols can now focus on his next step instead of waiting on something that may never come.
  15. MEH. Just another hyped up NFL guy who is "definietly a ratio breaker", without any experience in the CFL and mediocre success (if that) in the NFL. I don't expect him in Winnipeg, I also don't think he will be anywhere near the level Farhan is projecting.
  16. And how have the bombers thrown anyone under the bus?
  17. And honestly that's just too long
  18. Isn't that the biggest issue with basically everything CFL though? The best talent will go where the money is. It does. But he's heading there. Tells you about his potential.
  19. I completely disagree. Streveler isn't a pocket passing QB. He's a football player. He can take those hits, just the same way any receiver/running back could. And he proved it when he was running over linemen and linebackers. Could he get hurt? Sure. But that's football.
  20. As much as I don't like it. I completely agree. The NFL is seeing a new trend of athletes being used anyway they can be. Streveler fits that bill. Maybe he won't stick, but he most definitely will get a shot.
  21. I do agree with you, but Hansen was regarded as the most pro ready player in the draft. It wasnt like he is out doing his potential.
  22. Good point.
  23. I'm not sure what you're arguing here? Yes the Ratio increases the wage of players who may be less talented then their counter parts. That's not a secret or what anyone was saying. And the reason Olineman are often drafted for developmental reasons is because it's easier to develop an olineman and there's a larger pool to pick from. Add on top of that more positions to fill on the team, and it's easier to hide a weak olinemen than it is a less talented QB.Maybe adding QB's to the ratio would help. BUT then you'd need to take into consideration injury and replacements. Are you suggesting that if there is a QB who could perform as well as or better then let's say, Mcguire, they wouldn't get a shot simply because they're Canadian? Or are you saying teams refuse to take the time to develop Canadian QB's and you don't understand why? - I think this is true. And I think there is good reason. 1) Most CIS qb's just don't have the physical attributes to be a PRO qb (Arm strength, overall size/strength etc) 2) There's only so much space on the team for QB's, so why spend time developing someone who is clearly not on the same level as his competition (who will still need to be developed themselves)? Especially when it won't help the ratio of the team? All things considered, like number of available positions, overall talent, ease of development Canadian QB's just don't make it. If there is a Canadian QB who can play at this level he will get an opportunity - see Brandon Bridge. He's a great example of a guy who has all the tools and guess what? He was given an opportunity. In fact, he's been given multiple opportunities.
  24. That's most likely due to poor management. When your selling out stadiums, you should be turning a profit.
