  1. What's not to get? It's about getting more eyes on the TV screens to generate revenue. As an example, I know people who follow a specific soccer team (overseas somewhere) due to a winnipeger playing on said team. They watch the games, follow the social media outlets etc etc. They did none of those things before the Wpg player joined that team/league. Bringing in international players will draw international attention...how much $$ will be generated from it...who knows? But nothing ventured, nothing gained.
  2. I thought collaros was a FA. If he's not, looks like it's just a matter of time. I still think Jennings will be in ssk this year. Reilly BC. Bridge and Glenn in Edm.
  3. This one stings a bit for sure, but I'm not all that surprised. I suspect he still has a few all star seasons a head of him though. Solid player his entire career here even after a bad injury. This is the crappy part of the business. Saying that, if they're making moves like this, they better ******* pay off!
  4. I don't think Huff is going to be in on the Reilly Sweep stakes either way. This is just a good idea on his part. Let BC/Edm think there are more teams interested, will drive up their cost hurting them other places. If there's no Bo this year I can see Huff making a trade for a younger QB or signing someone like Jennings and surrounding him with a bunch of talent. I don't think there's anyway Huff will pay for Reilly.
  5. ****** redneck social justice warriors are just as annoying as liberal SJWs and it's just as pointless trying to discuss/debate anything with them.
  6. THC is not cannabis. It is a single aspect of it. Which is why synthetic forms of THC have a long list of side effects that aren't always associated with whole plant treatments. Doing experiments with only THC is misleading at best and often flat out false, as the other cannabinoids as well as the terpenes present in the plant can alter the effects of THC as well as the ability of THC to properly bind to the cannabinoid cell receptors. The study your quoting did not take other lifestyle choices into consideration. Diet, exercise, careers etc etc etc. It may have also let the participants source their own cannabis, which brings on a whole other list of problems. This is unfortunately extremely common in cannabis studies, maybe false isn't the right word, but these studies are often done with a result already in mind. IE - "Cannabis lowers sperm count" Instead of "Does cannabis lower sperm count?" Also, the original post talked about altering the DNA of sperm, not lowering the overall sperm count. I really shouldn't discount these types of studies, and I'm certainly not trying to point out that cannabis is a miracle etc etc. But the vast majority of the studies done on it are trying to find out why its bad for us, not just conducting proper research and letting the results speak for themselves. Again, nothing against the people who did this study...these types of results are legitimately the only way you can continue to get funding to study cannabis in most countries. It's a fairly broken system.. The legalization of cannabis in Canada will bring about some very accurate results for better or worse.
  7. Yes that's right
  8. The 3rd week was added to take the short weeks out of the season I believe. Otherwise you have teams playing 2 games in ten days or something like that.
  9. You're the only person I've ever heard say that. It's a heated, historical rivalry. And is arguably the best rivalry going in the CFL.
  10. it's almost like the league enjoys promoting rivalries...
  11. I don't mind this schedule at all. Nice and balanced. Not a big fan of back to backs to end the season, but understand it. Could be some exciting football at that time of year.
  12. I personally would love to see another 3 pages of this completely fascinating debate..........
  13. Yeah they reduced the diameter I think last year...? I could be wrong maybe it's still to come. But I remember them making chances that will make the ball essentially an NFL ball with strips.
  14. How many "raw rookies" do that at the NFL level though? Like 2 a season maybe? And then how many are actually good? This is out of hundreds of players. Players who are smart enough, and talented enough to start as a rookie in the NFL, start in the NFL. And players who are even remotely close to doing this, still play in the NFL because they make WAAAAAAAY more money sitting on the PR of a team then they would starting in the CFL. You're making it seem like these players are a dime a dozen. They aren't. They are like finding a needle in a hay stack. Then you need to convince said needle to head north, learn a new a game for far less money then they could be making staying at home playing a game they are familiar with. Even if CFL teams send thousands of scouts out, believe it or not the CFL isn't exactly a high priority landing spot for most college kids, and there is still a lot of convincing that needs to be done.
  15. Doing well in a game they've probably played and been coached in their entire life or a good portion of it anyway. The CFL is a different game, different rules, different places to place a ball, different balls even (though not so much anymore), more players, more movement, different types of D, different types of blitzes, etc etc etc. It is 100% not as easy as you're making it seem, to go from one to the other. Which is why the CFL doesn't have a multitude of QB's coming up that can excel in the CFL.
  16. FTFY might help to explain some things...
  17. yup, couldn't agree more. Mistakes made are often put on the shoulders of players who didn't even make the mistake...they just didn't get the pass off, or dropped the ball etc like you said. In football, mistakes/missed assignments etc have a ripple affect.
  18. cause that's not how football works....? Rec is told to run a route. QB is given options. If he sees a rec open, he throws it with the route the rec is supposed to be running in mind. If one or the other does something different without the other knowing or picking up on it, you get an incomplete pass.
  19. There just aren't a lot of acts that can play in a stadium and are currently touring or touring during the right months anyway.
  20. And no Offensive line.
  21. You know attendance is based off ticket sales and not butts in seats right?
  22. You're making assumptions....follows it up with a bunch of assumptions.
  23. Bolden and Hefney for me. Bolden was just too good. Hefney was just clutch. Best open field tackler in the CFL in his prime.
  24. Murphy was lucky to be a part of such a great organization. Without the riders he wouldnt even have a career in the CFL! Lolololol
