Bombers vs Redblacks: Bomber Football Is Back Edition
Bigblue204 replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Looks like Santos-Knox is starting which is great. And I've been a huge advocate of Poop all year and usually hate seeing him sit. But Ottawa is going to be run heavy tomorrow night. And Nevis clogs up the middle very very very well. In the "in case you missed it" thread, the trade put forward by Hodge is A- crazy. and B - based on Nevis not getting the "results". Which I think is garbage. Guy is a run stopper. The middle of the Dline has been difficult to run through all year except for 1 or 2 games. Nevis is a big reason for that. -
Rex Ryan was hard to listen too.
-
I can see hamilton scooping him up.
-
THANK YOU! They've been spewing this all season, going with 8 allows them to be flexable incase of injury. Well here's the injury. No need to change anything. Would be nice to get Poop Oko and Jeffcoat on the field at the same time.

Bombers vs Redblacks: Bomber Football Is Back Edition

Tate is soft. -
Considering Davis is the Bombers back up. I wouldnt be completely opposed to have bridge as a 3rd stringer. But ill take davis over him everytime.
-
What would that be though? Mayne add ten seconds?
-
If hamilton had any kind of offence they'd be winning. Even with the turnovers. Bridge is brutal
-
Just two bad teams playing some boring football.
-
Bruce Johnson
-
I dont think ssk has proven anything. I just think the match up favours ssk over ham. Mostly due to ssk rec vs hams dbs.

????? When did he say that? -
Bridge is bad. But hammys defense is the worst ive seen in a long long time.
-
I unfortunately think everyone here is giving the ticats too much credit. That defense is still bad. And riders O...hell just their receivers will run wild. I hope hamilton wins. But my head tells me the ridirts win big.
-
While some of this matters....in football it mostly doesnt. Any given sunday, is a saying for a reason. Some teams just match up better than others, wpg vs mtl...or cgy vs ottawa for example. Wpg beat mtl....and ott always takes the most of cgy. But ottawa lost to Ham, and cgy lost to Mtl. Both teams bombers have beaten. Saying "this team beat this team so they should be worried" doesnt really apply in football...espcially in the CFL.

"Stand Pat" is subjective. They brought in players to compete. Likely just didn't turn out the way they had hoped. You can't know how a player will do in the CFL until they are herr learning the game/play book etc etc. I also have a feeling Knox has been a bit more of a let down then they are letting on. -
WTF..... It's almost like we as fans don't get to see the entire picture behind what goes on when making decisions..... "sipping their tea" smh.

yes, but none the less they can still take a player down. -

fair enough, My only question is cramps (which they are claiming these were) can pop up out of nowhere. I'm only playing devils advocate here. I do like the idea of letting the play go if it's been blown in. -

in theory that would be great. But sometimes players do get hurt, and try to tough it out but end up going down just before the whistle (granted that's not how is usually goes). So now you're relying on a Ref to decide whether someone is hurt or not. Which as we all already know, will likely end in disaster. -

No one is saying that. No one has said they lost the game because of that. We're just saying it's a **** way to play the game. And at best looks unprofessional. -

Sorry, but claiming that because something has been around a long time, therefore it's justified is lame. Just rider fans trying to excuse poor sportsmanship. You're right that it's not the main reason the bombers lost. It certainly played a role though. Either way, its not something im ever going to coach a kid to do. And i would 100% pull my child from a team that thought this was a legit strategy. The fact that grown men do it (its been a long time since a team has done it to the extent the riders did) is honestly embarrassing, for them personally as well as the league. I can understand doing it one time to help restructure things, but multiple times...ive never been in a situation in my sporting life (all amatuer) were that would be a legit strategy. Im not even sure how/if you fix the rule. Its basically what pro sports has become, do whatever you can to win. Im being 100% honest. Bombers pull that stunt multiple times in a game, id be disgusted win or lose. Rider fans obviously feel a bit more ok with it as the game went their way. However there's not a chance any of them can say its a good way to play any sport. At any level. "I faked an injury so we could win a game" multiple players from the 2017 riders can say that about the LDC. I honestly feel sorry for those "men". -
yes they did. While the DT's where on the field. C johnson had a solid game. To be fair Westerman had the lone sack....but it was while Nevis was on the field.
-
We used them...i wouldnt say they "worked"
