  1. what about #9 and Hurl?
  2. Looks pretty nice. My personal favourite was the room where they Recognize the great teams of the past......all 4 of them.
  3. Yes no Coach or GM has ever been let go during the first year after they signed an extension.......
  4. This is where I'm not so certain who is in control. It's not Lulays knee that's the problem. It's his shoulder. He hasn't looked the same since he first hurt it. And he's one hit away from it being damaged again. Do want to go into the season with him as the starter, and no Jennings to back him up even? Lulay didn't look like he could get the team to the playoffs last year. Jennings looked like the future, sure the jury is still out. But that's not the case with Lulay. Jennings and his new agent must see this as well. So does Buono have the power in owning a contract that is cheap, and a proven, yet injury prone Vet already under Contract. Or is Jennings in control by being (as it stands now anyway) the best chance for the team to win. Is Buono on thin ice right now? Can he survive a loosing season, when he has a potential star QB not playing becuase he (bouno) is knowingly being cheap? I don't know. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  5. meh, that's just Buono saving face. It'd likely be the worst GM move on a qb since the ricky ray trade. (not that bad obvisouly, but still horrendous). Jennings is going to get paid. Want to talk about bad PR for player recruitment....let this flow into the season. Buono isn't that stupid. (please be that stupid buono)
  6. It's also not unheard of for star players to renegotiate to help the rest of the team out.
  7. yup, but I'm hoping Wally screws up some how
  8. I think this is a unique situation though. It's not often you're going to find players getting paid a less than a 1/4 of what their peers get for playing the same position and being a starter. Jennings deserves more and I hope Wally refuses to give it him. Cause that means Lulay is starting and that is Great for the bombers!
  9. couldn't agree more. I work for a large company and we just had a new long term plan rolled out. Management started their introduction of said plan by completely pumping the tires of every single aspect of the company. Even ones that everyone knows didn't do too well this past year. But what else could we expect? This is what a business does to attract the right people and the right mind set, and to get customers to buy in. The bombers and the CFL are no different in that aspect. They are a business selling a product. You don't sell things by always looking back at past mistakes/bad outcomes. That's a horrible game plan. Be positive, sell your vision.
  10. you should probably go have a snickers
  11. Um, no he didn't. The CFL said we did and changed the title of his article.
  12. Yeah he's on MTL neg list. But his biggest issue is his arm. So not sure how coming to a throwing league would help out. But it would be interesting.
  13. Yup, I enjoy reading his articles for the most part, cause I'm a homer. But it's pretty clear what his deal is. Getting all upset about it, is silly.
  14. http://3downnation.com/2016/02/26/how-jim-barker-won-free-agency/
  15. I just saw a tweet from @CFL about how the Argos quietly won FA....which is it CFL???? There can't be two winners!!!!!!!
  16. you need to get a stronger stomach
  17. it's almost like the games are different and different player abilities/styles/sizes can make one better suited to one game compared to the other....
  18. but then they would still have 50% of their games were they technically could have an advantage over their opponents. That's significant enough not to do it.
  19. has the CFL played any preseason games in stoon?
  20. 700,000 over? You had better be World beaters for that price
  21. While I appreciate the effort. The problem with this is. THIS IS THE CFL. Believe it or not, most people don't want it to become the NFL. I don't want to watch my team play NFL rules ball (because it's boring, yeah I said it. It's the truth). I'm a fan of the CFL, because of what it is. Not what it could be or what "businessmen" would want it to be. If you can't see why playing NFL rules for some games, then CFL rules for others won't work at all. I suggest you actually take an interest in OUR league and learn why that's one of the most ridiculous things we've heard around here...maybe ever. The CFL motto for a few years summed it up perfectly. "This is our League".
  22. Yup, anonymous player speaks out about stuff that has been an issue in the league going on decades. And discussed for hours on end every year on and on and on. He’s right, it’s not the most Ideal set up. Not sure why there isn’t league revenue sharing. I feel like that would probably help the league in general (though I don’t know the details of why or why not). But saying that, it’s hard to stomach giving up that cash when you see the revenues of teams like TO. The league could probably afford to give out more money for player salary. But this is the first time in a while that they’ve been in a position where they are making money on a regular basis. Yes it’s nice right now, but that after a long time of uncertainty and even some instances where the future didn’t even look like it would happen. But like he said, this is a game. If you really want change, then CHANGE. Do something else with your time. You’re in a position of privilege and bitching about it like this doesn’t lend you an ounce of creditability. It’s a joke. And a slap in the face to the people who have jobs that don’t include games. The fact he decided to remain anonymous, for me, takes away even more creditability. You want to be taken seriously but you don’t have the guts to speak out and stand behind what you’re saying? And you want more of money? Lol he must be joking! You want to be treated like a pro? Act like one. Yup it might end your career. But if he really cared that much, if he really wanted to change things. He’d take that risk. He’d be willing to give up his career to make the future brighter for others. To show others they can speak out too. But no, remain behind a curtain and keep trying to cash in. I love this game. I love the CFL. But if push comes to shove. It’s nowhere near the top of my priorities. It is near the top of first things to stop if I were to hit hard times. We all have to make hard choices in life. My dream job, one that I personally found more fulfilling and quite frankly more important than the job I’m doing now paid me horribly. Like living near the poverty line horrible. But my passion for it and love for it allowed me to make the changes in my life needed to live off of that, it wasn’t easy. And at times it was really frustrating and extremely stressful. And when it just wasn’t feasible anymore. I made a tough choice and changed industries. Welcome to ADULTHOOD you “professional”.
  23. I forgot about Carlos Anderson. Wonder how his injury rehab has gone. He looked like a real threat when he did play.
  24. certainly a tough start. If we can start 3-3 I would take it!
  25. thought he had a better year than Turner. Sad to see him go, was one of my favorites. Best of luck to him! Stupid brother hurting him....really was a turning point in his career.
