Difference is BLM can't throw a ball anymore...not like he could anyways. Ray and Calvillo were beaten and bruised and in bad offensives. BLM has a broken arm. I dont think Harris comes back either....maybe as a back up but that'll be all.

Zach isn't getting more until after 2025. Schoen will need a raise and it will come at the expense of Bailey.

That's really the biggest thing with this contract. And I haven't heard anything about any of it being guaranteed...I can't imagine that, I'm sure there's a decent amount coming to him no matter what.

He's 100% not here for the money. He had offers on the table (ssk among them) that would have made him more $$. Saying that, I know it wasn't an easy or quick decision for him and he struggled to make it. We can keep saying "why wouldn't he keep taking less to stay here?" And the simple answer is.....time. he knows his window is closing, he will want that paycheck sooner than later and I think equally important to him is to have a shot at being "THE" guy. He's never going to get that here.

He's won 9 games...he's been impressive enough imo. But I'm surprised at the timing and price of the contract. The 1st half of the year was the easiest schedule in the CFL by a mile. Imo the Argos should have let the season play out a bit longer...I mean they HAD to re-sign the guy. But I think they may have been able to save a bit on the contract.

The only reason Bailey is on the team THIS year is because he took less money. That won't happen again and I don't see the bombers upping their offer. He's good as gone imo.

As a base contract. Incentives brought it up significantly. "Jump through hoops" to prove he's committed because his actions the year previously not only hurt the on field product but also led to a loss of trust and questions about his commitment to football.

When I took drivers ed, part of it was driving with an instructor and near the end of the course we did a "mock test" to get us ready. I'd imagine this will be similar. MPI isn't just handing out licenses. They still need to do the course and get through it. Part of that course is being on the road with an instructor. My actual test, taught me absolutely nothing.

I completely disagree. That's just not the way this regime works at all. They wanted Harris back in a certain role. He lost the trust of teammates and coaches, and management wanted him to earn that trust back. Andrew didn't see it that way and left. At no point was there an attempt to get in front of public backlash.

It's not like there's a history of players having a great first season, getting big contracts, talking big talk and then falling flat on their face.... Wonder if any of it is guaranteed

I believe the contract that was offered was heavy on incentives. Including a fitness test before TC. Which was due to him not being focused the previous off season (which imo is understandable considering he was going through personal stuff). He also lost the trust of coaches and other vets due to his 2021 issues. They wanted him back, but they wanted him to want to be here as bad as Brady. And he just didn't.

In reference to Bailey. I fully expect this to be his last year as a Bomber. He'll get offered good $$ and likely a better role somewhere else. And I dont think he takes less to stay with us like he did this past off season.

doesn't he have issues with his hands as well? I thought I remembered that being an issue when he was first in CGY.

Only other player I've seen do that was Andrew Harris, I'm pretty sure it was I the 2011 GC game. I've always wondered why it doesn't happen more often.

I was pissed about Zachs ints yesterday. But after seeing replays....im only pissed about two of them lol. That 2nd pick 6 was a solid play by the defender. Who imo is quickly becoming the best safety in the league. That guy always burns us. But it's hilarious reading @lyin' guy cry on riderfans about how smug the bombers (including fans coaches and media) are. Like youre still 2nd place my guy no need to be jealous!
