  1. Yes and no. They were going home...but also getting significant raises that just didn't make sense (for the most part). Would you have been happy to make Chungh the highest paid Oline like BC did? Maybe I'm not remembering properly, but if he wasn't the highest paid he was damn close to it. Couture may have been the only guy on that list they could have realistically gotten. All the others were getting huge raises from (imo) being on a good team that raised their ability. Drew would have been a nice get, but again...I don't think anyone would have been good with making a Guard the highest paid OL even if they weren't already bogged down with other big salaries. I agree that they haven't done a good job of filling the cupboards/giving legit chances to others. But I don't think any of the guys we lost were worth the money they were being offered else. If I'm Tui, and I don't win the job out of TC..I might be looking at asking for my release. Players only have so much time and he can start in this league.
  2. 100%. Not something that should be ignored for too long. But I'm doubtful players are looking at those and deciding they don't want to go to wpg because the plane they use to travel isn't great.
  3. I don't know. I think the bigger less agile guys played into his strengths more. I think he may have been less productive against smaller LBs.
  4. Don't forget signing with some hockey club too....something like that. Anyways...I hope this recent move pushes his ring of honour induction back a decade.
  5. Once a Bomber....ALWAYS a Bombers....ahahahahahaha
  6. I'm not sure he meant it was an illegal hit. He was blindsided technically as he didn't/couldn't see it coming and then was pancaked.
  7. Oct 17th game against ssk is my bday!
  8. 2 bye weeks in the first 6 weeks....that's brutal
  9. Gauthier is still a solid Special teamer though. He does bring value and can fill in at LB in emergency in game situations.
  10. Maybe it's a 1 day so he can retire....
  11. Lawler and Schoen will be wearing blue and gold in 2025.
  12. I'm not saying he didn't do "fairly well". I'm saying he was a solid qb who for whatever reason could never get over the hump. In the one GC game he played in, he scored zero touchdowns. Mitchell threw the lone TD for stamps that game. He was benched the next playoff game he played in after posting a league best 14-4 record. How is that not the definition of coming up short in almost every big game?
  13. agreed. That pass to Darvin Adams down the sideline just over top of Robertson was a thing of beauty!
  14. sure. His full body of work will show you that he comes up short in almost every big game he's ever played in (in the CFL). That's a solid amount. But with him and Rose on the DL they'll be very good.
  15. not really. By the end of his career, that was his MO. Solid QB but not someone who is going to lead you to a GC victory.
  16. Meh...it's probably a wash. Both are qb journeymen. I'm not sure if I just forgot about this, or never knew in the first place. But apparently in 2019 after Nichols went down the bombers tried to get Glenn out of retirement. But he declined. apparently he did. Stats say he was 2 for 4 for 16yrds.
  17. I'd be shocked if Ott doesn't lock him up before then.
  18. The WR market will be reset this year. No one is going to get a big pay day.
  19. Don't mind these signings. Both solid role players and if Wilson can stay healthy (big ask at this point) he can be a game changer.
  20. **** the healthy QB getting a chance.....the real crime was Bradys use. YES I'M BEATING A DEAD HORSE!!!!!
  21. keeping in mind he also told the coaches he couldn't grip the ball properly. Which just makes the plays that followed even more enraging.
  22. If you're looking at it like you HAVE to replace an Allstar NAT, sure you don't let him walk. But I don't see the need to replace an allstar nat at that specific position. The cost compared to a replacement vs the realistic production just doesn't make sense imo. Spending a lot of cap space on a position like that would be a huge mistake. specifically because finding a field side corner has never really been an issue with this management. I don't expect it to start being one now. Keeping in mind that if he never started a single game last year our ratio remains fine...I just don't see the need unless his $$ makes sense.
  23. generally i'd agree. But I think the 1 position you can let them walk is CB. Especially Field side. He's not at all irreplaceable as an athlete and without him in the lineup even last year our ratio is just fine.
