I think you're forgetting he signed that contract while still a backup to Rourke. They were so set on VA being the #1 they went out and got Evans too. Like others have said his contract has been re-worked. Also what a weird ass hill to die on lol.

I hope to God Saks lands Brown. The amount of money they'd have tied up in that position (assuming they'd have to out bid ott) would very much hamper their ability to shore up all the other areas of need.
