  1. Dennis, Couture are two pieces that could sure help...Trevor Harris while no superstar can win in this league. Lewis at WR, Demski... Etc etc. The pieces are very much available (assuming nothing changes). Add into the equation that it's not at all impossible for players to change teams and become productive (Yoshi?) and...at the very least let FA play out....holds true. It seems very much like damage control. Gotta try to keep those season ticket holders while they still can. Lol.
  2. At the very least...let free agency play out.
  3. That game was way closer than I expected it to be.
  4. My favorite CFL off-season tradition is people predicting standings in January. Lol
  5. Rourke to the Jags https://twitter.com/Bobthemediaguy/status/1614694452253323264?t=vWT0E4BcCfsYVavRrthSZA&s=19
  6. Welp, it finally caught up with me. Tested positive this morning. Felt like I had the flu yesterday. Feeling a bit better today but still down and out.
  7. Yeah could be. That makes me worried about Yoshi though.
  8. Interesting about Dennis. I assumed he'd be a lock to resign with CGY.
  9. There was also the deep pass to Augustine in the 2019 banjo bowl. That pass always stuck out to me.
  10. You know there's far more than being able to make all the throws to starting in the NFL. Can you give an example of his time here where he didn't have the arm strength to complete a pass? I can think of numerous deep passes he hit on the money. I find it hard to believe a guy who could make all the throws in the CFL, is suddenly unable to make all the throws on a smaller field.
  11. I'd argue his game is much more suited to the CFL than NFL as well. More space to make things happen and generally smaller defensive players to run over.
  12. I thought he fell on the guys helmet on his chest too. I figured that likely played a larger roll than the initial hit. Cause you're right, the hit didn't look all that bad/hard. Also, every athlete knows the risk better than we do. Those leagues will not be suspended because of this.
  13. I remember reading a paper about cardiac issues in young athletes back in 2018 I believe. I can't find it now, so maybe it's been retracted. But it talked a lot about this. Essentially young men pushing themselves to such extremes that they were causing damage. Young Men, especially athletes, having cardiac issues is not a new phenomenon. It's increased over the course of the past 20 years or so when athletes needed to be training harder and harder, younger and younger.
  14. TO releases Banks before his roster bonus is due.
  15. Apparently Strev was playing some special teams during the game
  16. "I'm not wrong. The BC lions are allowed to cheat!" FTFY
  17. This unfortunately was not uncommon back then. Not trying to excuse his actions, but it was half a century ago. Times have changed...hopefully he feels guilty about it...Im not sure what could be done about it now, outside of Tyler taking responsibility and providing some kind of assistance. Unfortunately there are a bunch of artists from that era who have songs that literally talk about "sexy" minors. Even as young as 13.
  18. Just REEEEEAAACHING to not be wrong!! I also love the "If every invested entity in the deal comes out and says that I'm wrong....then I'll gladly admit it!" If McEvoy was limited to only a 10% raise why wouldn't he say it? Why wouldn't he say? "We would love to give him a better deal, but under the current rules we're limited to 10%."
  19. He already addressed it. Earlier he said if Rourke gets a new contract it will only be because the CFL/CFLPA allow the Lions to essentially break the rules. So you see, it's not that Tburg is wrong...it's that the league will allow the Lions to cheat.
  20. Yeah appliances (generally important ones) always fail at the worst time. My stopped running the same day I learned I was out of a job at the end of the year. Coming home to a freezing house when you're have a **** day is not great.
  21. Brutal fumble by Wilson. Streveler was putting together a solid drive there.
  22. Maybe...but I think a signing late last year basically put that to an end.
  23. For me, this comes down to what has already passed. We know the PCs were given money to help with Covid (i think that's what it was for..the 85 mil) and we have zero knowledge of what happened to it. Even after they've been asked, nothing. Similar things happened with Daycare and education. Daycare I know the prov gave the payments to the centres...instead of investing in actually making daycare cheaper all the time. Don't get me wrong, I've benefitted THIS month because of what the PCs did. (I didn't have to pay this month) but I would have preferred to pay this month knowing that in the next year or so, daycare costs would be coming down. PCs had also been given money to help with school infastructure...essentially to update it especially the ventilation...again..what happened with it? So my question is...if the Feds are giving provinces money for specific things, and the provinces aren't using it for those things or only using part of it...or using it for those things but not in the intended way. AND the provinces are then turning around and pointing the finger at the feds for the problems those funds were supposed to address. When does it become reasonable to want a solidified plan in place before more money is given out?
