  1. I think having more than one "wild card" on a team starts to get risky. I'd be okay with having Carter if we didn't already have Gurly. If you have a strong close knit team with quality leadership it is highly likely that the wild card player will eventually become one of the majority. More than one of those types too early on then becomes a greater chance of division within the team.
  2. The play was dead. It was bad call....not bc there was a fumble, but because the refs blew the whistle early. There was no fumble because the whistle was blown before the ball was stripped.
  3. Imo the ref blew the whistle earlier than he should have, but the fact of the matter is that the whistle blew before Harris fumbled. Bombers ball
  4. Bombers coaching has improved. Finally making the most of what they have. Lapo's play calling has become the furthest thing from "vanilla".
  5. I could handle that swap
  6. He could probably shuffle over to mtl for the HeadCoaching gig there. If the Bombers don't start winning again there may be opportunities here.
  7. Has Hazelton officially signed with Edm?
  8. This club is seriously a DLineman or two away from having a legit chance of being Grey Cup contenders. Special teams- best in the league QB- Nichols is smart, calculative, patient and a leader with something to prove. Davis has obviously shown enough and has the coaches confidence to be "the man" if Nichols gets hurt. We all know what Glenn brings to the table. He probably want that Cup more than anyone still playing. Seems content with helping out in anyway to get it. There's not a better third stringer out there. The Oline has gelled and are playing strong. Maybe the best Strong NI RB who would be leading the league if he had not missed last 3 games. One of the best back-up RBs. He didn't miss a beat when called up on. Recievers have had had their fair share of injuries. The quickness, speed and tenacity have been there all year regardless. Now they've added the one thing they didn't have...size and aggression with a bit of swagger. Once Adams is back they will be deadly. Secondary has finally seemed to sort it self out and the cream has risen to the top. I'd easily take Randal-Fogg-Loffler-Heath-Fredrick over any other starting secondary. Strong LBing quartet of Burnett-Legget-Wild-Bass can get the job done Dline needs to be able to push through more and create more hurries if not kills. Westerman can't do it alone. I was hoping Martin was the man, but unfortunately not. One guy could possible open up the flood doors, whether it's pressure up the middle or an assassin opposite of Westerman. That one last piece could be all that's needed. Just my opinion
  9. They've been remarkably generous towards the Bombers lately.
  10. I want Elliott now.... Seriously though, what is the best option for the DL out there now??? Anyone floating around or on the cusp of being released from the NFL (besides the usual two that are never coming)?
  11. Boom! Running with the big dawgs again! Way to go Walters!!!
  12. They obviously haven't proven enough in practice thus far to be able to crack the line up. Gurly and Elliot have proven they can play and play big.
  13. My preference is Gurly, Elliot, then Hazelton in that order for receiver . Then a monster for the Dline
  14. Status quo certainly isn't going to cut it. Every playoff bound teams are making upgrades for a run at the Cup. The Bombers need to do the same. No one said that Dressler needs to be replaced, however I think Gurly and Elliott are definitely an upgrade over Sheppard, Mayo and perhaps even Smith. The DLine definitely needs to be shaken up as well. There has been options presented lately and I'm sure the bombers have tried to sign some of these guys, but Walters needs to try and find a way to seal the deal because those other teams are going to start pulling away.
  15. Receiving corp is too one dimensional. Successful teams have a variety of threats.
  16. Our little guys are getting pretty beaten up.
  17. *Sigh*
  18. From EdTaits column Former Argo T.J. Heath was floored to learn his old team had dumped four receivers after Toronto’s loss in Montreal. “I’m probably just as shocked as they are,” said Heath. “But they’re good players and they’ll end up somewhere very quickly. They’re very good guys. We’re just big kids playing football. We had fun and joked a lot… it was a real good locker room over there and that’s why I think it was so shocking. That’s how the business goes. Hopefully they’ll move forward and continue to play ball.” Heath said he’d love it if those receivers ended up in Bomber colours. “They’re very good,” he added. “It’ll be interesting to see where they land. Hopefully we could get one or two of them.”
  19. I hope the Bombers try to grab two of these guys and aren't sitting on their thumbs . Doesn't sound like Adams will be back anytime soon and could possibly allow to trade/release underperforming/overpaid Smith.
  20. It makes no sense. Especially given that they are hosting the Grey Cup
  21. Mayo and Sheppard have not been the answer and Smith has not impressed for the price paid.
  22. If controlled could be benefitial. I'd risk getting one or two to have a better chance of winning. This club has been lacking edginess for a long time. Especially on offence.
  23. Would be nice though. Can't see how Coombs and Harris would share time. Hoping they sign him next year as a FA for sure
  24. Ah yes....don't see that happening this year. I was thinking recently cut from the Pats.
