I think you are bang on. I believe a lot of it was perspective. The coaches last year pretty well lost most of the guys in the locker room and a lot of the guys were playing for themselves and not the team.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Lions, Stamps, Ticats, and RBs, all went hard after Matthews too

Stewart, JJ, and Simpson were names I heard.

Is anyone else worried that one of the other cfl teams (most likely Ottawa) are going to scoop up Matthews? I can't help but think the Bombers are going to lose out on signing him. He would definitely open things up for Moore and Denmark, but you'd also think that teams would end up so focussed on the passing game that Run would finally be able to get going.

I believe The Bombers are making a huge mistake if the pass on Hall. It is guaranteed that Hall would make the rest of the Dline more dominant.

All three of our National receivers are solid. Popp also knows that the Als are pretty strong at receivers(internationals) and could use one of them to strengthen other areas of weakness.

Fair enough. I agree he is a dominant receiver who isn't afraid to lay his body out there and throw a huge block for a team mate. What would the Als want from us that the Bombers would consider? Sears and a draft pick/neg list? He seems to be in the doghouse now. The rights to one of our NFL National DL? What/who could the Bombers afford to give up that the ALs would want? Having said that I think the only way I would make any trade for SJ Green is if the club could not sign Matthews.

Consider how often Watson actually plays and the progress of our other National receivers. Just a thought. The Bombers could probably also squeeze out a draft pick too.

With all of the recent NFL cuts and more to come in the next day or two...who should we be keeping an eye on? Any updates on who is the Bombers neg list?

Semi-related: I have one of these....the first year Reebok took over after Puma....and it's unstitched, whcih drives me nuts. So 17to85 and I have been in discussions as to who I should get stitched on there. I have a Doug Brown jersey, a Khari jersey, a Milt autographed jersey that hangs on the wall only....got a Stoddard one awhile back....would Brian Clark be appropriate? Maybe Wickman? Tom Canada

They should wear their uniforms from 2004.

I can't believe Suber is still on this team and he hasn't been traded. He's still a decent player who could probably start on some of ther other teams.

Dressler is the better receiver, but do you want to put all your eggs in one basket? If the Bombers were to sign Dressler they probably wouldn't have any cap room left to sign any other nfl cuts if they became available?

If I recall correctly the issue some had with Hall last year here before he was traded was that on two different games Hall was asked to sub out and he waved off the bench refusing to come off the field.

Cotton sits, Romby Bryant is let go. I'd prefer to have Matthews though if both were available. I think he would fit better with the receivers we have and would probably be a lot cheaper. He could add a whole new dimension with his height to the current core. Dressler would be an amazing addition who would probably already have some chemistry with Willy, but I believe he would have to come at a crazy cost.

Where is knapp?

He'd have to be more productive than anything we have. Then we could keep one of Grigsby/Cotton and let them develop. I would love for the club to try and find a RB like Messam, whether they are a National or International. It's always nice to have that guy who can Bulldoze up the middle and a waterbug guy. We all know how effective it's been in the past.

Sheets would be a good option if he wasn't able to crack the Raiders. It would be nice to have Alex Hall back too. I think he would help tremendously against the run.

Anyone know how Sheets is doing? I believe he is with the Raiders.

I've been pulling for Woods to become our Chad Owens, but he hasn't even come close. The club desperately needs a returner that can be a threat each and every time they touch the ball. I thought we had that in Washington but he can't hold on to the ball. Woods looks to be slower than last year and runs more sideways than forward. Is there any decent returners from last year that aren't with anyone?

Suber and a third to Calgary for Peach? Maybe a conditional second round pick from Ottawa or Toronto?

How long before Suber is traded/released?
