yikes that is expensive. calgary, Edmonton, who cares. all of Alberta, sixty or more years of living on oil, and still that's all they have going for themselves. Zero diversification. One of these days, probably sooner than later, that's going to backfire. in a big way. Not me saying that, it's people in the oil business. Drive around Winnipeg, there are thousands of small businesses that employ ten to a hundred or more people. there is an amazing entrepreneurial spirit in this City. Drive through Calgary, there's nothing like that at all. just a bunch of brand new, gigantic houses. and roads and freeways to them. Alberta, outside of the cities, is physically a very beautiful place, I'll give it that. I guess Alberta gave us Nickelback, (good band), but they left didn't they? you've still got the band the Stampeders though. think they stuck around. Unfortunately our infrastructure is absolute trash and could never handle a larger population then we have now. Unless they so something radical like build a sky tram like Vancouver. ...to start.

What are you talking about!?!? I just drove through Calgary this summer and it was filled with potholes.
-
And Winnipeg is a **** hole too. Weren't you complaining about Calgary in another thread?

Yeah, agreed. I just posted it cause it looked neat. But I'd want to be there for longer then a day. I could do a one week all inclusive to Cuba (including flight, hotel, drinks and food) for less than that. You're either exaggerating or picking a shitty resort. If you go when it's not peak season (travel in Oct-Dec) , you can definitely get those kinds of prices at decent resorts in Cuba. Yep, in December before Christmas, and it would be a decent resort...3.5 to 4 star. Ah ok...sorry. My mind is in January-February mode since we're trying to plan a trip to a resort during that time. Can't take another winter without a trip down south somewhere.

See, that's weird, because most of the streets I drove on were a million times better then any streets here. Yes some of the streets had pot holes, but nothing compared to Winnipeg. Mind you, I didn't drive all over the city. But, I mean, Calgary streets suck pretty bad too.

Welcome to fan bias. It's the same type of crazy behavior that makes someone suggest Tino Sunseri is equal to Drew Willy. That's not what I said. Read it again really slowly. Here's what you said recently on the the Riders forumn. "I am sure we could care less what some Joe Sixpack Bomber fan thinks." "Pretty lame to come on a Rider board and post this crap." Being green or being a hypocrite.....hard to decide which is worse. Being green...it's always being green. You can always wish to be green Mork. Why would I wish to be then a hypocrite?

Ok I gotta ask. Why does it seem people hate Edmonton? And I mean the city, not the team. I've been going there since I was a kid for trips as my aunt use to live there and we always had fun. But I told a co-worker who use to live there that we were going on vacation to Edmonton and then Banff and she was like "ew...why are you going to Edmonton?". And then when I was in Edmonton, some guy that use to live in Manitoba saw my Bomber plates and drove up to us to say hello. I said "you've got a nice city here" and he was like "nah...I don't really like it here". I didn't have time to ask him why because the light changed. So...what's with all the Edmonton hate?

Kind of cool. Too bad it's only one night. http://www.bluebombers.com/2014-bomber-fan-trip

Both teams made multiple mistakes in each and every game so what is your point exactly? For F sakes, in the last game alone the Riders fumbled the ball twice on third and short! Add to that a myriad of penalties on the Riders in the first game and a punt return given up for a touchdown in the LDC. It seems that as fans we love remembering the screw-ups that our team made but so quickly and easily dismiss the other team's blunders. I wouldn't call a punt return touchdown a "mistake", that'd be like calling a rushing touchdown allowed a mistake. The other team gets paid to play too. What I'm talking about is fumbles. Interceptions. Plays that swing field position and momentum. You may have won all three and credit is certainly deserved for that but let's be honest for a second ... you didn't win a single game by more than one possession. Your margin of victory in each game was either 5 or 6 points. We turned the ball over seven times in the first game, twice in the second and three times in the third. That's 12 turnovers in 3 games compared to only 3 for Saskatchewan. Your turnover ratio was +9 and you only won by a combined margin of 17 points in 3 games. You don't think turnovers were a BIG factor? Not only that but we had over 100+ yards of penalties the last game. That right there can cost you the game. Kind of like the Riders in the first game at IGF on a short week? No wait, the Riders won anyway. Come on guys, focus on pounding the Lions. Umm...we just view the game, we don't actually get to play. Exactly! Typical Saskatchewanite...making no sense. FYI I said it CAN make you lose the game, I didn't say it was the only reason. Stop making it sound like the Riders are way better then the Bombers. They only won by less then a TD all three games. Oh and hey, congratulate your player for dodging that missed holding call when "what's his name" ran the punt return back for a TD.

There are in fact people saying exactly that. If it was 200 rushing yards given up combined with 200 or 300 passing yards they might have a point but the fact that the total offense given up was like 300 yards and the riders managed only a touchdown means that defensively the Bombers managed fine. Yeah they gave up some run yards but it didn't cost them the game. There were tons of chances to score more points and they missed them, How about taking a 15 yard penalty to back them out of field goal range? Get a field goal there and suddenly a field goal at the end of the game ties it rather than taking a shot for the endzone. The blocked field goal, that was a mistake by the blocking plain and simple and without that the game could easily be a win. They made too many mistakes in this game on special teams and that was the difference. I'd say that the Bombers won the other two phases of the game, but they got beat so bad on special teams it cost them the game. I didn't say no one...I said most people. Yes, there are a few people saying it's completely the fault of the run D (which isn't true), but if you read people's comments, they're saying it's a factor, not the whole reason.

I dont think he knows what it means when you put quotes around something LOL, I didn't even think of that till you just pointed it out. I knew something didn't look "right" about that sentence.

Personally, I miss a breakaway receiver like Milt. Not specifically that amazing, but someone who's got some wheels on them that can turn it up a notch when the ball is thrown deep. Wouldn't mind a better RB. A bit of Canadian help on the Oline as others have mentioned. If we're just talking players, then only a couple of changes on D (*cough*get rid of Kuale*cough*) should be sufficient. Other then that we just need to mold a bit better as a team, and grow a bit.

Which part of our run defence distresses you the most? The fact that they gave up 196 yards ? or that it led to one TD being scored on the defence? The reason teams run the ball is to kill the clock, SASK won all 3 games vs us mainly because we couldn't stop the run regardless of what O'Shea says... Yes other factors contributed ( blocked FG for a TD ) but running kills the clock and gives the other team less time to score points. No, you're wrong. We did not lose all three games because we couldn't stop the run. Did you not watch any of the games and are simply going on the message that the run defence is not good? I saw lots of yards being gained on us in three games, that much is true. I also saw 5 turnovers in one game to none for Sask. Do you not think that had a bigger bearing on that loss? How about today's game? we did stop the run in the 4th quarter - twice, but we failed to execute to win the game. If we had scored, do you honestly think Sask. runs the ball? If Sask. does not get the benefit of ST mistakes (16 points) and is actually down in the game, do they stick to running the ball and killing the clock when it netted them 14 points total? I don't think most people are saying we lost because of our Run D. I think they're saying it had a factor in our losing. Chewing up the clock means our offense was not on the field possibly scoring a TD. There are obviously multiple factors in why we lost, most specifically our ST. But, them burning up the clock with the run was a contributing factor.

Wow you guys are just like Mike O'Shea!

Name calling is going to happen on a football field. Tweeting something to someone is one thing, but when you're on the field crap is going to fly back and forth. These guys need to suck it up. This isn't even news. -
Who said the run is not a problem?
Logan007 replied to Maudie fingerjammer's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
From what I'm seeing: - Our run D is crap. Admit it. If we had a better run D, our offense would have spent more time on the field. If our run D was better, would that have made a difference in the game? Possibly, if offense had more time on the field, we'd have been able to take more cracks trying to get it in the end zone. - ST is just awful except for Stoudemire. He's the shinning light. The big question I have is...why wasn't he out there on every punt and kick return? Sorry I may have missed something like him getting hurt. I was at a party with people who wouldn't shut up while I was watching the game, so I missed the commentary. - Reffing. Specifically one call that could have changed the game for us. The huge missed holding call on the punt return. He might have taken him down if it wasn't for that sloppy missed call, and we could have won the game. - Willy. I love him, and I know he'll be great, but he's making some rookie mistakes. Whether that was MB that told him to huck it down field in the second last series or if that was just him that wanted to show boat, I don't know. But scoring a td AND managing the clock should have been the primary goals at that point. - Penalties...a ridiculous amount of penalties. Our guys need to reign it in. That was over 100 yards worth of penalties. This is just unacceptable and needs to be cleaned up. Just my .02 cents. -
What?I dont know if its grammatically correct. Lol.But both players are burried and forgotten and rotting on the depth chart.... well, like dead. lease on life?? I LOLed anyhow.....so great. This part of the thread totally bottled my mind.. That's a mute point. Uhhhhh.. Nooooooo... It's a moo point.. It's like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter. "It's moo" Am I the only one that caught the Friends reference? Oh, and it's moot point, not a mute point.

I don't know what their stupid Mascot's name is. I try to keep relevant information in my brain. Anything Saskatchewan related is immediately ejected.
