  1. Not everything is as black and white as you paint it. Nobody is talking about coaching Max Hall into a world beater, but rather coaching him to the point he is as good as possible, given the conditions physically and mentally, that he has to work with. Also coaching him up to take full advantage of the schemes, and help that he receives, or doesn't, from his offensive teammates. Sure scouting is important...I would certainly hope that they don't bring in players who just "suck". Exactly Blitz. I've seen teams go from losers to championship winners in 1 year with barely any change in the team lineup. I've seen it happen in the NFL, NCAA, CFL, etc.... The right coach that can inspire you to win and do your best is 10X better then having the best players on your team and having a **** coach that does nothing but bring you down and point out everyone's faults. A good coach can inspire you and make you lose your jitteriness before a game. He can make players make plays that normally they'd hesitate to make. These 2 things can make a HUGE difference in a game. Take away Hall's jitteriness and all of a sudden he's a QB that has composure and keeps his foot planted. Sure he can't launch the ball down the field, but even with a weak arm, can makes 10-15 yard plays, and doesn't hesitate when he sees an open man. On the other hand, a **** coach neither inspires nor does he build confidence in his players. He makes his players feel inadequate, and that if they make mistakes they're going to lose their job. So they become jittery, they not only make mistakes, but they make big ones. They drop passes, throw in-completions, etc... because no one believes in them. In turns Hall, Goltz, Elliott, etc... into QB that look like they're crap. Coach's make ALL the difference on a team. I'm not saying you don't need some good players on your team, but any team, no matter how bad they are, can be a lot better with the right coach.
  2. Good coaches make any player better.
  3. Getzlaf, Muamba, Laurent, Cornish, Harris But he's quite possibly 6. Cauchy ahead of Cornish? hmmm.... Your wit is AMAZING.
  4. LOL nice one. Why would Miles stay as a DB coach with the Riders when he'd probably make more coin here as a DC?
  5. Thank you for bringing this thread back. Well...I mean I have plenty of the flu stuff too if people want to hear it... No let's not. I could go on rants too, I think we all could. This is the football forum let's stick to ranting about the Bombers. There's the general forum if people are jonesing to rant about some flu. The human race has survived worse and we're all still here. So I wonder if they've continued interviewing for the other positions or are waiting to start again this Monday.
  6. Thank you for bringing this thread back.
  7. LOL...3.5 million people in Alberta and a whole 5 people died from this with 200 in the hospital? How is that scary stats? That's like telling me I better not drive because there are more deaths from getting in a car accident then from getting H1N1.
  8. New and improved! They should call it H2N2! If he had you bend over and cough then it might have been H2N2 (Hand To Number Two). It's not a pretty thing.
  9. Dude don't make me laugh like that while I'm eating. I almost choked.
  10. You may want to edit your post so that it says 2013. Tanks
  11. And lazy. Don't forget about how lazy he is for not coming here. Reading comprehension for the fail? Less hard work required = easy route. Easy route = lazy. Capiche? First, it's spelled capisce. Second, I wouldn't call any DC position in this league easy. The only reason you think we had a bad defence and that coming here is the "hard route" is because we had a **** DC here that had no idea what to do with a defence. And for whatever reason the great and mighty Burke didn't seem to be helping him at all. Calling a 60+ year old lazy for wanting to stay close to his family is just absurd.
  12. And lazy. Don't forget about how lazy he is for not coming here.
  13. Never, Burke is firmly in the Reinbold class. I think he created a new class of his own. We all thought Reinbold's era was the lowest class. Burke has created a new sub-class under Reinbold.
  14. Matter of fact, the case is not so simple.
  15. Aren't you one of the ones that keeps telling people to stop assuming and making up theories or is that just Mr. Dee? Seriously, why would you come here and freeze your ass off millions of miles away from your family instead of going to Calgary where you're near your family and the totally awesome mountains? There you go again, assuming things and/or making up theories, for the millionth time. And that's a just Mister Mr. Dee, if you don't mind. Oh I DO mind. How DARE you assume that I don't mind!

The guy probably has grandkids. And if so, ain't no way grandma is going to let grandpa move them that far away from them.
  17. Depends what you're looking for. You want led, plasma or LCD? I prefer led myself. And do you want a smart TV or does that matter to you. I personally think smart tv's are pointless. I'd much rather get a basic led tv with something like a western digital TV live media player and then hook up a nice sony or pioneer surround sound to it. I just bought a 58" toshiba led tv from Costco for just under 800 on Black Friday. Was for the family room so I wasn't looking for anything high end. But it's surprisingly a really nice tv. I had a 46" Sony before it which had a really nice picture but that room we sit so far away so we needed something bigger.
  18. That's right, just the GM... Rick Campbell is the head coach. I don't see an OL coach. I wonder if Mike Gibson will be taking on that role as well. Oh right, thanks. I had forgot Campbell was hired as HC.
  19. Man, we lose Dickenson...damnit. O'Shea needs to get his ass in gear and hire some people. Everyone is getting scooped up.
  20. C'mon, enough with the hyperbole. Creehan has had the worst D in the league by a wide margin for two years running. At least Etcheverry has some mediocre defenses to his credit; the one in Saskatchewan in 2009 was fourth in points allowed. Umm...it's either first for us, or none at all. Get with the program...duh. For someone who knows nothing about the guy & relying on others to tell you their feelings about the guy that's an interesting thing to say. I was just imitating you.
  21. Is Desjardins both GM and HC? For some reason I thought he was just the GM.
  22. Is this mentioned somewhere?
