I know...

Ok, but even if you remove F4, it's fairly well known that in the Marvel universe children are born with some (if not all) inherent abilities of one of their parents. It doesn't always happen, but most of the times it does. You can read about it here http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Mutant_Biology Cable: Telepathy and telekinesis like his mom Jean (technically her clone Madelyne). His powers are just reduced because of the techno organic virus he has. Legion: Son of Professor X. One of his powers is telepathy like his dad. Rachel Summers: Has Telepathy and telekinesis just like her mom Jean. Can also wield the Phoenix Force like Jean did\does. Daken: Son of Wolverine and has duplicate powers. Polaris: Daughter of Magneto and has duplicate powers. Nightcrawler (as you pointed out): Son of Azazel, similar demonic appearance and ability to teleport. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver: Thought to be Magneto's kids, but are not (mind you, this was a retcon...probably because of the MCU). Both Inhumans now. /nerdness off

Have you read marvel comics before? Most mutant kids do have some inherent abilities of the parents. Cable, Legion, Franklin Richards, Rachel Summers, Daken (Wolverine's son), Polaris (Magneto's daughter), all have similar abilities to their parents. I'm not sure where you're getting that the powers are never duplicated. Also, this isn't Logan's kid. X-23 is a clone of Logan, hence why her powers are the exact same, except she has 2 claws instead of 3. Not sure if they'll follow the comic book story where she has the third claw in her foot.

Wow, Logan looks crazy. I can't wait.

At least he's a good actor. Typical. Are we ever going to see a Star Trek TV show again?

They better. I just can't believe we lost out on a Luke/Han scene. Watching TFA, it seemed the way Han was talking that they either left on bad terms, or Han just felt bad for Luke because of what happened with Ben.
-
To me, that would be the WORST way to kill her character off. Off screen with nothing but an opening line? And you can't compare that line to Luke Skywalker has vanished. Vanish and death are two different things. The whole point of TFA was the search for Luke Skywalker. If they're going to kill her off, do it with a body double on screen somehow and give her a good send off. I believe the reason they automatically dismissed the CGI is that it would disrespect the memory of Carrie Fisher, just like if they did it to any other actor who has died recently. Recasting would not do that. I've read a lot of fans saying they'd have no issue with recast, I've also read a lot that want CGI and others saying to kill her off. But you have to do service to the story too. If the story absolutely needs her in it, then I say recast her. I was against it at first, but now I'm coming around because I want to hear the story the way it was meant to be told, not some jiggered story line that needs to be tinkered and may mess up the entire story arch they were trying to create.

From what I've read in books, I think it's implied that Leia is just as powerful as Luke is, she just doesn't train in the ways of the Jedi. She uses her force abilities more for battle planning, politics, etc... She felt Han die from light years away. Yoda and Luke pretty much stated that Leia is force sensitive. As for her in episode 9, I actually hope they recast her. I think it's what Carrie would have wanted. That's just her personality, the show must go on. Plus the Leia character is more then just Carrie Fisher. No one can replace what she already did, but we need to move on and just tell the story that they had planned out.

I don't think they'll separate Anakin/Vader either. What may have happened with the helmet, is the same thing that happened with Rey and the lightsaber. Perhaps when he touched it, it showed something to Ben. Something dark that's imbued into it. As far as Snoke. I think he's someone new and I don't have issues with that. Hidalgo came out and said he's not Plagueis, neither is he or Kylo a Sith. The Sith are gone. Snoke has been around for a long time, I'm not sure how old his race lives, but he's been around since the prequels it seems. And as I said, he's supposedly 8' tall. Hidalgo also stated that in the book he refers to Leia by her first name. This also implies that he knew Leia before TFA.

Agreed. In looking back, you could almost see that Anakin could have taken the same path as Luke had he not been held down by all the dogmatism of the Jedi and the swaying of Palpatine. They always seemed to be trying to tie him down and force him to be what he wasn't. Obi-Wan blames himself for Vader in the original trilogy, but if you look back, had he kept Anakin away from Palpatine and had the Jedi not been around and it was just Obi-Wan training Anakin, I believe he would have had much more success. Even with his attachment to Padme and his mom. The one difference I see between Luke and Anakin, is that Luke has always been more at one with the force. Whereas Anakin just used it to kick ass it seemed. He never wanted to listen to Yoda about meditation, and being calm. Anakin was a man of action, Luke is a man of wisdom/action. Luke is very much the balance. And Luke/Leia did the same thing to Ben that the Jedi did to Anakin. They kept information away from them. They never told Ben about Vader being his grandfather until 6 years before TFA, then he all of a sudden finds out that information, along with Snoke whispering in his ear, just like Palpatine with Anakin. You know, thinking about the prequels, the ideas behind them were really good. Lucas's ideas and how thing played out were amazing. But his writing and directing just royally messed it up. It's too bad he didn't let someone more competent do those two parts. I also think Disney should hire him back on to bring ideas to the franchise. Don't let him write or direct anything, just let him be the idea man behind it. He links things up pretty well.

I think Anakin has always been fighting between darkness and light. I don't think he ever wanted to be a Sith, and actually hated them, but went to them out of necessity. He loved his mother and wife, and would kill for them, so it's not hard to believe that if you **** with his kid, he's going to hand you your ass. That's where the Emperor went wrong. Anakin's biggest weakness is his love of his family. I think when you see your son love you unconditionally, even after all the crap and evil that you've done, you start to take a hard look at yourself on the inside. Sometimes it just takes one little thing to flip the switch in your brain to make you change the way you think.

Actually the scars aren't very similar. They look similar when people use a photo that has too much shadow. But if you look at what Snoke really looks like you'll see the scar on his head is more in the center rather then on the side like Vader. And the scar on his face isn't a scar at all, but a huge gash. Edit: Also, we saw Anakin at the end of RotJ as a force ghost. Plus, why would Kylo be talking to Vader's helmet if this guy was his Grandfather?
-
Anakin and Snoke are not the same. That dumb theory has been debunked so many times. Snoke is 8 feet tall (not talking about his 20 foot tall hologram projection). Also, if you look at the scar, it's obviously different. Do you think Lucasfilm would mess that up? Pablo Hidalgo has already stated that Snoke is a whole new character.

No, it was never illustrated on screen. It's not even canon, but it's the only reference there is at this point. It's from one of the EU novels that says he uses the force to kind of buff his troops. I mean, if he could use the force to influence the senate and millions/billions of people to believe what he wanted, I don't see an issue to using the force to help your troops out. But either way, if Luke wasn't there, Vader and the Emperor could have escaped and the Empire would have continued. So his contribution wasn't so much destroying the death star as it was destroying the main bad guy who could have restarted the whole shabang all over again.
-
Actually, I read somewhere that the Emperor's ability with the force inspired and imbued the Empire with confidence and power, and when Luke went to stand up to him and Vader, the Emperor's force abilities waned as the battle went on which caused the turn in the tide. So in effect, Luke did have something to do with the battle. Had he not been there, the Empire would have won. If you watch RotJ, you can actually see as Luke starts to win, so do the other two groups on land and in space.

Think of it as someone with lots of money getting the best cybernetic parts vs someone who has to scrounge for age old parts because he doesn't have the resources. Luke was part of the alliance, so their resources were greater. If you look at Vader though, his cybernetics were not state of the art. But that was more because his suit was apparently designed by the emperor to cause him pain. I'm guessing for his failure. Hence why he wasn't put into a bacta tank as soon as the emperor got him back to Coruscant. He just had them install the parts right over his burned skin.

The Harry Potter movie/books end the last scene of them sending their kids to Hogwarts in 2017. Barbed Wire with Pamela Anderson is set in 2017. And in Oblivion, the last Super Bowl was 2017.

Oh DC...get your act together.

Here's a list of celebrities that have died this past year. I think people are thinking this year is worse for celebrity deaths, not for the amount of celebrities that have passed, but because of how notable those celebrities are. http://www.cnn.com/specials/world/obit-2016 Here's hoping this is it for the rest of the year.

Nope. Like I said, just updating as I just read it. That family must be devastated right now.
-
I know. I was just giving an update to what you had said. Hence why I said "she JUST passed away". If it wasn't for your post I wouldn't even have looked it up.
-
Actually they've stated she just passed away. RIP Carrie and Debbie.

Merry Christmas everyone. ...not sure about Rider fans though.
