Ah, but Anakin was only to bring balance to the force, which he did, by destroying the Sith. I think the Sith are done with and now a new force of darkness has arisen. The Knights of Ren. I also think part of the balance was Luke. He brought Luke into this world, and he is the balance in the force. I.e. he will be like a "grey Jedi", much similar to Qui-Gon. Very unorthodox in certain Jedi ways that were considered important in the past. Like feeling love, having some passion without it overcoming you, etc...

Ah, this is where I read about the height of Snoke: http://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2016/12/star-wars-episode-viii-rumor-a-more-practical-snoke.html For Star Wars: Episode VIII it appears, at least in part, that Snoke will not be a character generated in a computer. Instead he will be a huge puppet around seven to eight feet tall, taking several people to operate and a man inside a suit to make him walk. Stylistically, it seems as if Snoke may be CGI generated for the holographic communication sequences, but when he has scenes in Episode VIII next to real flesh-and-blood humans like Kylo Ren he will be a practical puppet with facial features operated by the crew. We don’t know exactly how much screen time Snoke has in Episode VIII and that makes it impossible to say he’s almost always a puppet in the film or CGI. But we do know the puppet is pretty impressive and appears to be articulated in such a way it seems it is more than an elaborate stand-in. We suspect that the film may show us some of Kylo Ren, General Hux, and Phasma meeting with Snoke after the destruction of Starkiller Base. It has been confirmed that the film begins mere moments after Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With a lot of the film taking place on Ahch-To where Rey and Luke are, it seems as if we might get the juxtaposition of Luke and Rey between Snoke and Kylo. It would seem the puppet Snoke would be more powerful and interesting to look at than a CGI character, of which audiences are continually critiquing the visuals. So I doubt he'll be anyone we've seen before.

Oh, and the planet where Vader's castle is, is actually Mustafar (confirmed by Pablo Hidalgo). Same planet he got his legs chopped off.
-
Kylo is 30 years old in TFA. He was born right after RotJ. Rey is 20. That rumor I just told you about the guy kneeling down in front of Vader in the bacta tank is false. I just read Pablo Hidalgo's tweet about his name being Vanee and that he is not Snoke. Still, Snoke could be a long lived race, and like you said, had met Yoda when he was young. He's obviously old enough considering he's supposedly been around since the prequels.
-
Oh, some people were even thinking that Snoke is that guy that bowed down to Vader in Rogue One. And others are like "no he's too old"...unless he's a long lived race or knows the dark side and has the ability to keep himself alive. But I doubt it.
-
Could be, but how many 8 foot tall human looking people have we seen in Star Wars? Personally I don't like the theory that he's that tall. Just seems weird. I keep thinking he's going to be that being who was the dark side in Clone Wars cartoon, if he is actually that tall. I don't know. There's just too much misinformation out there sometimes that you can never get any real clues.
-
That's been around for a while. It's totally false. I believe Snoke is actually a very tall humanoid character which is why they had to make him from CGI. He's apparently something like 7 or 8 feet from what I've heard (and I'm not talking about his hologram). That's even what Andy Serkis said when he was getting ready for it which is why they're doing mocap.

Sorry, I didn't finish my sentence. I get people walking into my office and for some reason I submitted my reply thinking I was done. When I say stand on it's own, I mean more that it should have nothing to do with the broader star wars universe, as in it's its own heist film. It shouldn't be trying to tie itself into anything other then Episode 4.
-
Correct. Geonosis was in Attack of the Clones, and Mustafar is where they began building the first Death Star. And, I agree, it was best to leave out any connection to the new sequels. It was important this film kind of stand on it's own.

He's the droid that Star Wars deserves, but not the one it needs.

I don't recall seeing that droid.

I watched it again Sunday. I guess I'm just not a huge "war film" fan or something, but the first half of this movie bored the hell out of me. I was almost falling asleep during the movie. As soon as the second half turns it on, my brain ignited. I really liked everyone's performance. I don't know what it is, about that first half but it just takes me out of the movie. I'm not really a "Saving Private Ryan" fan, so maybe the writing just doesn't get to me. That being said I still like the movie and am glad it has a different feel then other Star Wars movies, because it's good to see something fresh and new to change things up a bit.

I found Tarkin and Leila, although amazingly done, were noticeably VFX. But as technology gets better, they'll eventually rerelease this movie with even better VFX of the two of them that you won't be able to tell are cgi. I thought Vader also wasn't done very well. Just his movements and what not just didn't feel like Vader. I get making a character your own, but when it's suppose to lead right into another film, you should try and copy the body language as much as possible. There were a few other things I didn't like that were minor like the repeated lines of "I am the force, the force is with me". That was so annoying. Otherwise the story and acting were good. Pacing was off at the beginning but picked up in the second and third act. And the space battle was amazing. I could get into more but I'll just say, although I didn't like this as much as The Force Awakens, it was leaps better then the prequels.

Exactly. I was watching Collider Movie Talk on the youtubes, and they were talking about Marvel vs DC as far as their plan. They stated that DC doesn't really have a plan, they're just tossing everything out there, and it's probably because they don't have one clear leader who is in control of the DCEU. Marvel on the other hand has Kevin Feige who is the prime architect behind this and is directing this thing according to his plan and rarely diverges from it. They already know which movies are coming out for the next 3 years and have a base story of how things are going to go. DC is just going "ok, we're making Justice League...what are we going to do with it?" with not much of a plan about how everything else ties in. Sure, you can definitely see that the movies are part of the same universe, but they can't even decide when The Batman is going to be released, or if there's going to be a Man of Steel 2, or who's going to direct Aquaman. I mean come on...get your **** together.

I'm not really into this thread, but I found this on Reddit. It's a really good video on our gun laws and what it takes to even own one. It's pretty strict. https://video.vice.com/en_ca/video/armed-and-reasonable-how-to-buy-a-gun-in-canada/583368df3cfc32027c0a4284

Aw you beat me to it. I was just going to post it.

Uggh...I'm going to eye roll at the Sirens movie. Geez, DC needs to get their act together. They don't even have a set plan, dates keep changing, etc... It's sad because I'd love to see a really good DCEU. At least I have the TV shows.

Oh good, You didn't post spoilers. LOL...I was leary about entering. I've heard there are actually quite a few surprises and spoilers in the movie. I'm not sure what, other then what TUP already mentioned. Yeah, let's go ahead and treat this thread as a spoiler thread. In which case, I'll see Mr. Thread again after Friday evening.
-
Yeah, I wish I wasn't either.
-
Yeah, cause The Phantom Menace wasn't a clone of SW4 at all.
-
I've got two sets already. One for Friday and one for Sunday with the family.
-
Really, because so far the word on the street is that it's better then The Force Awakens. Apparently George Lucas even really liked it.

3-Year Contract Extensions For Walters and OShea

It's live now. When asked about his coaches and if he'll resign them, he said he needs to look at contracts but that he likes consistency. I really wish they'd drop Hall and bring in another DC like Thorpe. -
Last, but certainly not least (looks awesome), Spiderman: Homecoming trailer:
