Remember, Rey was already skilled with using her staff. Some of that skill will easily translate into using the saber. Then when the force "awoke" in her, it helped her to be even better. And there is a book out called "Before the Awakening" that explains how Finn was trained to use that same weapon that the other Stormtrooper had that he fought. Couple that with the fact that Kylo was hurt and you understand how he was beaten.

It's not that they don't want Kasdan, it's that he's done with it...for now anyway. I think they have some decent writers to take over where he left off anyway. And yes, Rian will have his limits, but JJ has read the script and said there is some good weird stuff in it. But I'm sure it will keep in tone. I'm thinking the weird stuff will be him really delving into the force. After all, I'm guessing this movie will focus a lot on training both Rey and Kylo (by different masters of course). Man, I can't wait for episode 8.

Crazy how much it made. so much to speculate about over the next year and a half. What worries me, sort of, is that Arian Johnson does weird stuff in his movies. Even JJ said his movie will have weird aspects to it. I just hope it's good weird. And if Luke is her dad, I hope they don't recycle the, "I am your father" line.

I saw that before I went to see it again today. But you can barely hear the voices. I did hear Alec Guiness say Rey though. Enjoyed the the movie more the second time. Another reason I think Rey is Luke's daughter, when Kylo was interrogating her, he said "I see an ocean surrounding an island" which is where Luke is. Not that that is resounding evidence but I just think she is.

I'm just going to make a few points, still going over everything I saw in my head, but I enjoyed the movie to say the least. Firstly, they never state or indicate Kylo is a master. He should have a lot more sabre training for sure considering he's been training for 15 years or so. But even Snoke says he needs to complete Kylo's training. That and the fact that he was hurt was probably why he did so poorly. Finn was probably trained with that same weapon that other storm trooper was trained with hence his ability to use the saber. And Rey was also very good at fighting with her staff, so some of that skill obviously transferred to fighting with the saber. Rey is not a Solo kid. I think Han or Leia would have said something to her if she was. I'm hoping she's Luke's daughter. Someone also stated she might be a descendant of Palpatine. When they said that it made a light pop over my head. When I was watching the movie, I noticed how Rey fought with a lightsaber. She stabbed a lot. The only other person who I've seen fight that way was Palpatine. Again just a thought and I hope it's not true. Anyway. Seeing it again Sunday with the family this time. But so far it ranks 4th for me behind Empire, Jedi and Hope.

When I lived in the city, they would clear my driveway after plowing, but do a crap job of it most of the time. They once left a huge bolder of snow on my driveway that was solid ice. I couldn't break it up or move it. I phoned them up and told them they need to come back and clear it as I couldn't even get my car into my garage, and we had a double garage. In Oakbank they're fast at clearing the snow, but sometimes they do a crap job of it and they never clear your driveway. I have a tough time getting through that pile of ice after I get home from work most of the time. They clear it in the morning and by the time you get home it's solid as rock. Like Goalie said, I feel bad for the older folk that have to clear that, even if they do have a snowblower it's hard.

Hey all, I figured we should start a Star Wars spoiler thread discussion for those of us who have seen the movie. I won't be posting in it until this evening, but those of you who have seen it, go ahead and post your thoughts on the movie in here rather then the Upcoming Movies thread. I'm so stoked. Uggh...I hated Full House after the first season or two. It was just so gushy and everything was too perfect and clean.

Hugh Jackman is making a cameo in X-Men. I've read it in a few places. That being said, that trailer was boring. @Frosty, wtf was that first trailer? Godzilla? And that Chinese International trailer for Star Wars was TOTALLY AWESOME! When I saw it this week I thought it was probably the best trailer yet.

That being said, I'm still on the fence with LaPo. I mean, this will be the first time in 12 years where he has a really good QB behind the line (and he can normally take a hit too). I want to be hopeful, but at the same time...I just get this gut feeling that it's just another meh hire. Our whole coaching staff, GM and scouts just feels very meh to me. I was hoping when MOS got hired that he was going to bring some fire to the team, but I just don't see it. Hopefully they can pull it off and hopefully they bring some decent talent to the table.

His second attempt as an OC in BC was worse. He's trending in the wrong direction. Huh? He was 8-10 in Hamilton and 9-9 in BC. I didn't look at the points scored for both years, maybe that's what you're talking about?

Just an FYI, Lapo did not have any back to back Grey Cup appearances. He was in the GC in 2007 as a RC for SK, then in 2009 as OC with SK, and last in 2011 as HC with Bombers.

Gonna take a lot to like that film. Expecting bad reviews. Star Wars or Star Trek? I'm going to bet that he meant Star Trek. Star Wars is already being viewed by some people and so far it's positive. First screening for the red carpet is Monday I believe.
