  1. We aren't discussing whether or not he would be a good DC. Just whether or not it would be unrealistic to expect him to know how to Design a Defense along with another DC (Etch), which is what your original statement was. That it would be unrealistic to assume so. I'm simply stating that since he's already shown he can take on field experience and transfer that to a playbook via Special teams. It isn't unrealistic that he could also do that for a Defense. Whether or not it would work out is another discussion all together. If he were a former DC at any level then I'd agree with you. As he wasn't I don't. So only DC's can recognize or design defensive schemes then? I'm betting that lots of defensive position coaches can, to various degrees do it, and I'm willing to bet that some players can too. I know this because there is no "magic" that happens once someone is named defensive coordinator. They are not suddenly able to do things that they couldn't do before, it's just that they are now being paid and given the responsibility for doing it. So does O'shea have a background that might allow him to help a DC put together a defensive package? Of course he does. Arguing that he doesn't is just plain silly. Would O'Shea be really good at doing it? Maybe, maybe not. Sure that's how it works. Once someone has enough experience points they level up and gain new skills that they don't have access to before. Oooh someone's got himself a Post of Burning +1 /nerd off. Your nerd is never off.
  2. Agreed. The girlfriend has a tough time with some of the graphic violence in this. It can definitely be dark sometimes. Have been a big Donal Logue (Bullock) fan since his arc started on Law and Order: SVU and Ben McKenzie since the OC days. Both really great actors. The kid playing Cobblepot should be getting Emmy nom's....he's been outstanding from Day 1. I love Logue. I remember first seeing him in Blade back in the 90's.
  3. Not sure if you know this, but the DC movies and TV shows are separate universes. When they make a Flash movie it's going to be a different actor playing Flash. It's not like Agents of Shield and the Marvel movies where it's all the same universe. We're not even sure if Supergirl is in the same universe as Flash and Arrow. So far in TV land, Arrow, Flash and the Legends of Tomorrow (hasn't aired yet) are the only 3 shows that co-exist with each other.
  4. If you do not think every episode of the Flash is totally awesome, then I can no longer buy into any of your critiques of any show. BEGONE FROM MY PRESENCE!
  5. What a load of crap. How do you uncover new coaches if you don't even give them a chance. If they deserve it of course. If everyone thought like you than we wouldn't have up an coming coaching talent like Jason Maas, Dave Dickenson or Marcus Brady. The same can be said for current coaches like John Hufnagel and Kent Austin. If Buck Pierce has the right aptitude and smarts. Why not? Same goes for Marcus Howell. A guy like Pierce has worked one on one with many different OC's over his college and pro career. I'm sure he's picked something up over those years. Absolutely right. The new guys that have been given chances, on both sides of the ball, (ex. Thorp, Maas, Brady, Condell) have shown well, either through an extension of their coaching staff, or completely on their own. How will we ever see new ideas besides the old X's and O's, if we don't seek out new thinking? Fresh offensive ideas, as yet not tried. The RedBlacks no huddle offence, as opposed to our stale no offence huddles. A "keep them guessing on D offence", as opposed to our "we know what you're going to do playbook". How about fresh and new as opposed to stale and re-cycled. I remember a quote from a defensive player when they were done thrashing our offence. He basically said "we knew exactly what they were going to do". That's basically been our Offensive scheme...for years. Unfortunately, O'Shea won't be able to go where no man has gone before, because he's got to hire that "name" and hopefully get it right this time. Yes, but who were the guys who were teaching these guys beforehand. Maas had Milanovich and Brady to learn from Brady had Trestman and Milanovich Thorpe has been coaching since 2003...not exactly a rookie. But still had Chris Jones, Rick Campbell, Kavis Reed, etc... to learn from. Condell has been coaching since '95 in CFL and College ball (again, not sure how he's a rookie to you) Pierce has learned from....Marcel Bellefeuille. Yeah...that's a great teacher right there. I wouldn't mind him having a few more years under someone like Condell or Brady, so he knows what an actual offensive attack should look like. Howell has had LaPo, Crowton and MB. Again...not the best teachers, but at least he's been around for a while. Either way I'd like both of them to have learned from someone better then MB.

Let me fill some of that air in between your ears instead of acting like you knew what I was saying. Did I say that rookie coaches shouldn't get a chance? No. We'd run out of coaches if we didn't. What I was trying to say was the BOMBERS don't need a rookie coaches right now. You ***** about not getting a cup, yet you want to take the chance and give Pierce a shot. No thanks. I don't have the faith in him yet like you might, and I doubt he could do it. But I'm not saying that someday he won't be ready. If you haven't noticed, we haven't had a great deal of success in the last 10 years with rookie coaches taking the big roles. All of you whining about giving Buck a shot. If they did that, and he failed, all of you who said we should give him a chance would be the same people crying for him to get fired and "why did we ever hire him". Have none of you learned anything from all the rookie QB's we've thrown into the fray that have failed? You can't rush things, if you do, they'll more then likely blow up on you. Give him time and let him learn from someone other then a crappy OC. And no to Howell as well. I still stand on the fact that we need a non-rookie at OC right now.
  7. Wow...that list is...a bunch of crap. Dyce would be the only person I'd want here, but as a STC. And Khari as a QB coach. Big hell no to Howell and Pierce. I hope they don't go that route as we don't need more rookie coaches right now taking command. I'd rather have LaPo then Howell or Pierce, and that's not saying much. I'm hoping there's more on that list, but they just aren't saying much yet because the other teams are still playing.
  8. Give me Bob Dyce. YES! Bring back Bob Dyce as our STC. That would be awesome. He needs to come back home in some capacity.
  9. Thief, I said Condell earlier in the thread. IDEA STEALER!!!
  10. Oh, and a big NO to Buck as our OC. For crying out loud, I'm tired of friggen rookie coaches on our team.
  11. Totally agree with this. Remember why we fired him in the first place. Yeah, Mack fired him after 7 injuries to some major players, especially on the Oline. Then they finally started to trickle back in and things were starting to look up again and Mack threw him under the bus. That being said, I'm not saying I wanted Lapo here, but the dude got a bum wrap. Just like a few of our other coaches in the past that produced. As for Khari, I think he's better then MB, but he's still not that great. Not yet anyway. But I'd love to have him here in Winnipeg as QB Coach for sure. I'd love Brady, but I just don't know if he'd leave Toronto for Winnipeg unless we were to give him lots of moolah. I could say the same about Condell, not sure if his contract is up yet though.
  12. Why would he want to leave Toronto to come here? Other then a butt load of money of course.
  13. Khari is the receivers coach in BC. Cortez is the OC.
  14. Poor Rich. All he wanted to do was create a thread about multiverses crashing into each other causing temporal distortions in our timeline and you all RUINED IT!
  15. Uggh...I have nothing left to say other then that.
  16. Goldfinger was awesome. Sometimes it's a bit hard to watch the old movies now, because of how much better the action sequences and filming are nowadays, but they're still cherished in my heart. I'll always remember my dad letting me stay up and watching them with him. He loved Bond. Not the new stuff, but he loves the old Bond movies still.
  17. SKYFALL!?!?! LOL...the only good part about that movie was the last 5 minutes when he walks into the "old" M's office with Moneypenny there. I do, however, love Fiennes as M though. Great casting there.
  18. Ha! I loved Roger Moore. He was awesome. Same with Connery. Those were my two favorites followed by Brosnan. I find Craig to be too much of a thug.
  19. I won't watch Spectre until it's out on video. And I didn't like the Timothy Dalton movies, nor did I like any of Daniel Craig's movies. I find him to be one of the worst Bonds. Or maybe it's just the way they're doing the films now.
  20. You are incorrect good sir.
  21. That looks pretty cool. A little too much "U.S.A. IS THE AWESOMEST!!!" but otherwise cool.
  22. Well that was one page I never needed to see. That was a whole lot of disgusting.
  23. I'm out of the loop here. What is this you speak of? This some kind of date rating site?
  24. What if my butt was made of gold?
