That's not Glenns thing and never has been. Glenn was always a guy that went along with the rest of the team. Willy reminds me more of Khari Jones than anyone. Different qbs for sure but the miles and miles of heart, very similar. Kharis team mates loved the guy I get the sense that WIlly has the same respect from his team. Yeah, they need to put Willy on the side of the transit buses like they did Khari. Then we can all pointed at the buses and say "HEY, look at that bus, it has a huge Willy". ...I dunno, I couldn't think of a better pun.

Odds and Sods - Game 6 - BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Picked this one out because I felt it's worth mentioning the Bombers are one of the best teams in the league in the red zone. The real red zone or the Salisbury House Red Zone? The latter seems to be anywhere on the opponent's side of midfield. Salisbury house of course. -

Im starting to dislike Cotton. He was like a newcomer on this offense out there considering he is the starting RB. I would like us to promote Marshall up, move Scott as #2 and sit Cotton for now. I hate to be negative on such a positive day, but that's probably because MB's running plays aren't very good. His plays do well with Marshall cause Marshall just pounds it through. -
YEAH YOU GUYS!!! Psshh... That was for Mr. Perfect. Anyone know where he is BTW?

Odds and Sods - Game 6 - BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Was just going to post that the head first dives were to keep opponents from landing on his knee. It was intentional. I was screaming at Schultz for being a moron yet again when he was bitching about Willy not hook sliding.... Yeah but he rarely ever slides. That, and what if he gets cracked in the head or something worse. I think he was thinking that the D isn't supposed to hit the QB when you slide, so it's always better to slide. But life doesn't always work perfectly, and it's true, they may have gone after his knee and sacrificed a penalty. I'd hope none of them would intentionally do that, but people are stupid and you never know when one of them is going to go full ***** on you. -

Picked this one out because I felt it's worth mentioning the Bombers are one of the best teams in the league in the red zone. I'm talking about TD's. And also, I'm not saying their bad, I'm saying they could be better. There were a few missed opportunities last night where they were so close. -
Downloaded it last night. Might install it this weekend.

Odds and Sods - Game 6 - BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Just a few things I loved about last night: - Willy played great. I love the statement he made with that first run on BC. He basically came out and told them "what hurt knee?". The guy is a warrior. And I love run he made where he used the Oline as a shield. The guy needs to learn how to slide though. He's a tough guy, but that will only take you so far before someone decides he's going to put a pounding on you for going head first. - Darvin Adams played a great game. Made the catches when he needed to and made some big plays. This boy is a keeper. - Veltung did a great job last night. I loved watching him catch that long pass to the right side that most receivers would have missed. - JFG as usual played well too. I'd love to see him out there more often. - Marshall. What can I say...he smashes through the defense like he was a wrecking ball. Imagine what he could have done with 10 more touches. - Defense played well. Would like to see them stop the run better though. As well as not letting receivers get wide open. They are progressing though and they made some nice interceptions, tackling is getting better and they broke up a few plays really well. - And yes, the crowd pissed off Lulay nicely. - Still need to work on their red zone scoring. - Not sure I agreed with O'Shea for taking that penalty, but it ended up working out for them. But that was more luck in my opinion. - Still taking stupid penalties as well. Mostly in the first half. -

And keep using it though out the game, and not forget it. ...one could only wish. -
That was pretty cool. She is an awesome lady. Thanks for posting. Too bad she wasn't coming to the Winnipeg Comic Con. It's getting bigger every year.

cro·ny·ism ˈkrōnēˌizəm/ nounderogatory noun: cronyism; noun: croneyism the appointment of friends and associates to positions of authority, without proper regard to their qualifications. Cronyism is only if you hire someone you know into a position they aren't qualified for. If O'Shea hires someone he knows to be a DC, and the guy is a qualified DC or is an up and comer who everyone knows is going to be a DC soon, that is not cronyism. If Noeller hires 17 to be the on air talent, that's cronyism. Cause we all know he sucks at everything so he wouldn't be qualified for that.

Noeller, make sure when you become sports director the first thing you say on the air is... BOOOOGGGGEEEEEEERRRRR

I'm sorry...did you say something Atomic? -
What has this got to do with the subject we're discussing? You have me confused. I dunno. Goalie mentioned how many cups we had been in and I started off correcting him...then I went off on a tangent cause it started to open my eyes to how fairly equal we were to others in cup appearances. So I derailed the thread...since it was stupid anyway.
-
Also, we're tied with Edmonton with the most Cup appearances at 24.
-
Just for the count, we've been to 5 Grey Cups since we won in 1990. Just as a comparison (starting 1991): Calgary: 9 (5-4) Montreal: 7 (3-4)/Baltimore: 2 (1-1) BC: 5 (4-1) Edmonton: 5 (3-2) Saskatchewan: 5 (2-3) Winnipeg: 5 (0-5) Toronto: 4 (4-0) Hamilton: 4 (1-3) Ottawa: 0

Also, maybe in the BOD as well. But that's starting to fizzle out now as well.

Team Losing Because Of Coaching Decisions
Logan007 replied to TransconaBomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That's my point. "Better than Brink" did not equal "good QB", just like "Marve is better than Brohm" does not mean "Marve should be starting because he's so good". Many who want rid of Brohm think that Marve will come in and light it up, but like Elliot he could quite easily stink it up, and the coaches must believe that is the case based on not playing him and explaining how he is deficient in the areas they need him to be stronger in. Elliot's riskiness was not just riverboat gambler mentality, it was a fundamental inability to read the defence and exploit it. That was proven by the lack of success on any other team that took a chance on him afterwards. He was not a good QB, and "better than Brink" was such a low bar that people falsely elevated his ability to play because of it and pinned unrealistic expectations on him. I fear the same scenario with Marve now. My point is that Elliott hardly stunk it up, he moved the ball effectively but threw some ints in the red zone. Rather than working to correct that as a normal coach might do, he got the under the bus treatment cause the coach was pissed off as he often was and he liked to bury players who displeased him. No Joey Elliot stunk it up... 7 TD's, 15 INT for his career. You wont win too many football games when you throw twice as many Interceptions as Touchdowns. He didn't have a QB Coach, and Lapo was kicked out halfway through the season when Buck was hurt and Elliott was starting and we had just lost a huge amount of players to injury. He was actually showing promise on the game right before Mack fired Lapo and then went a bit downhill from there, especially in the red zone. But he was able to take the ball all the way down the field. If they had been able to actually work with him and correct his red zone play, he'd have been a decent QB in this league. But no one ever did. And who knows what Lapo could have done with him had he not been thrown under the bus by Mack. Also, in BC, wasn't he brought in behind Lulay and Glenn? -

Usually mac fans are more vocal and like the announce that they switched over and comment on how great macs are because they want to justify paying triple the price for a name brand. I like to compare it to the women who try to justify spending 250 dollars on a pair of jeans that look and work exactly the same as a regular 30 dollar pair. I own a PC laptop it was like 350 dollars which in mac equivalence I think I'd get a wirless mouse and keyboard for my money. I may be the wrong person to ask though since I really only use it to write papers, use excel and think or swim. I can't see buying a 1200 dollar computer to do that but who knows. But I'm gonna be dammed if I'll let you disparage hot girls in expensive tight jeans. That's the reason I get up in the morning and they aren't gonna look as good in jeans from old navy. Screw jeans. Yoga pants are where it's at.

Please explain. Trying to remember the details. The computer would not boot up. Called MS help line since it was some sort of update that seemed to lead to the issue. The guy on the phone, who did not fill me with confidence but assured me he was an expert said he had to format the HD. I said well wont that erase everything on my HD and he said yes but they were going to move my content into a protected section. So he walks me through doing it and I said "I really dont think this has actually done anything." He promised, vowed, guaranteed it had. Format the HD. Whoops, everything is gone. He ended the conversation with "Well, I really dont know." My own fault for trusting him I guess. Gotcha. I don't know a lot of people who call MS for help, which is why I was curious when you said that. Also, what a tool he was.

I rarely ever have issues with my PC or laptop at home. I think I've had one hard drive die on me in 10 years (although that's just luck of the draw most of the times). Heck I rarely have hardware issues with anyone at work either. And usually the software issues are because people do stupid things to screw up their machines. I tend to find people who have issues with PC's are the ones who turn them off and on all the time. Sometimes multiple times a day. Or the ones that like to toss around their laptops like a frisbee. With the switch to SD drives it makes chances of failure a lot less. At least the ones we use. And the ones with software issues are usually the ones that like to install all this "freeware" and games that are out there. Or go to sites that are questionable.
