  1. Aw, I wanted him here.
  2. I don't care what DC we end up with. My gut says we get no farther then 9-9.
  3. Maybe as OC or QB coach. Trestman won't be an NFL head coach ever again. Never say never.
  4. Is that why he ate turf so much? Sure, okay. A CFL team will always play a guy who knows nothing about reading coverages out there as the long term starting qb. Ever thought a piss poor offensive line had a lot to do with it? Buck got the **** beat out of him every game because of the pylons blocking in front of him. This year it was so much better for Willy. Oh wait... Except it happened when he was in BC too so...

  6. Huh? I assume you're joking.Me too.. I have a very hard time believing that we are even remotely considering moving on from Willy or short leashing the guy..And the fact that I watched the entire press conference and O'Shea didn't allude to Willy being on a short leash at all. What O'Shea said between 5 mins 30 and 6 mins 20 in that news conf is hardly a ringing endorsement of Bellefueille or Drew Willy. I just re-watched that part and I don't see how that could be interpteted as Willy being on a short leash. "I think the biggest issue is trying to find a defensive coordinator and how that affects the other staff members" "We started something with Drew Willy" "To be fair to Drew, if you keep changing coordinators on a quarterback, you can set him back" "We found a good young quarterback" "It's my preference to keep going" Seems pretty clear to me. Drew is obviously in the doghouse. You missed the part at 6 mins 3 secs where O'Shea quickly transitions away from endorsing just Drew Willy and reminds everyone that the Bombers have a stable of 4 good young QBs - as he puts it. And if you think about what he says regarding the OC position, he's actually saying if we had more experienced QBs then someone other than MB would be a viable option as OC. He's saying that it's not that MB is a great OC, just that bringing in a new system out would set back the development of the QBs. Obviously management talked about the option of a new OC. And what part of any of that is an indictment of Drew Willy? You need to look more carefully at what I said. Earlier in this thread I talked about Bellefueille and Willy, both. And what I said specifically about the QB is that I read from OShea's comments that DW is on a short leash. He's still #1 but Oshea isn't sticking his neck out like he did when Willy was first signed. If he doesn't quickly and consistently perform, I take from OShea's comments that there's good young stable of replacements. To me that spells short leash. Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else. I just watched the presser and I didn't get that feeling at all from O'Shea. I think you're reading something that is not there.
  7. It's Christmas Eve. Like anyone's going to be on here tomorrow.
  8. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah (even though it's over tonight), to all. Hope you all have a great one tonight and tomorrow.
  9. There's a full length indoor field in Winnipeg at the U of W? I didn't even know that.
  10. Indeed O'Shea's comments during the Etcheverry departure news conf suggest Drew Willy will be on a short leash.Huh? I assume you're joking.Me too.. 11. If a new up and comer is doing as good as someone who's been around for a long time, then I'd take the up and comer. Because chances are, he's only going to get better. Again, I'm not talking about him as the OC for Winnipeg, just in general. The fact that MB has had many chances to prove himself and has crapped the bed every time, yet people keep giving him more chances for some reason, and KJ has gone 8-10 with Hamilton, then 9-9 with BC (with Kevin Glenn of all people), yet people don't want to give him a chance...it blows my mind. I think he still needs some more years under his belt, but I think he'll eventually develop into a good OC.
  12. This. KJ could read a defense really well, hence why we think he's got what it takes to be a good coach. I think he just needs a lot more experience under his belt. Head coach, probably, but offensive coach not. I love how some of you will give MB a million chances to prove that he has something no matter how many times he's shown he's very mediocre, but KJ get's a couple of shots and is deemed a crappy OC, yet his record is almost the same so far. You guys blow me away with the way you think. Did you not read that MOS is probably bringing back Marcel? How does that change your opinion of MOS instead of dumping on us? In other words, go complain to the HC & not us. I am talking about those here who are saying that MB should get another chance, but then turn around and say KJ shouldn't be an OC. If that isn't you, then I'm not speaking to you. And I mean KJ as an OC in general, not specifically in Winnipeg.

  15. LOL...nice ones. If Buck becomes QB coach, I hope he can coach a pocket passer like Willy. Hard to say whether Dahlquist was a good QB coach or not for the CFL. Brohm and Marve seemed to do well while Willy seemed to regress. But was that the fault of the QB coach or the fact that he got pummeled every 5 seconds during games? Marcus Howell...was he a bad coach or did he just have crappy receivers to work with (or was it MB's crappy play calling)? I think it was just the receivers, specifically Bryant and Kelly...and then all the injuries to Lewis and Watson. The amount of missed or dropped balls was bad, and I'm not talking about the ones that Willy overthrew. And here's a question. Willy often threw to Bryant, yet he said himself he has an issue reading past the first and second receiver. Why in the hell was Bryant either one of those!??!
  16. I'm with you. I gotta get out and do an excursion, or snorkel, or something. I sit on the beach for 10 minutes and then I turn to my wife and usually say "so...are we going to do anything?" She usually tells me to play in the sand with the kids. So I usually get up and go exploring at that point. Then my oldest usually follows me now that he's 8 and we go exploring in the rocks or something. I just can't sit around doing nothing. I need to walk through the jungle, or check out the ruins, or snorkel.
  17. When was that said? O'Shea said the new DC will not pick any player personal going forward. I meant when was it said by the Bombers that Hall wouldn't fit the system. O'Shea said it on the coaches show. Not those exact words. He said there was no place for him in our defence. That was mid year though, when we were running Etch's system.
  18. I think she meant prostate exams.
  19. Might be the only one (haven't read through the whole thread yet) but this is the reason I don't want Bene here. Be too easy for the Bombers to make him HC and he sucked as a HC. In what way did he suck? Not that I want him as head coach, but he did pretty good win/loss wise. BC 2012 13 5 0 .722 1st in West Division 0 1 Lost in West Final BC 2013 11 7 0 .611 3rd in West Division 0 1 Lost in West Semi-Final BC 2014 9 9 0 .500 4th in West Division 0 1 Lost in East Semi-Final
  20. I hope so. I don't want Brohm to be another McManus. You know, where we let him go and then he's becomes awesome. Willy is signed here for now, but that doesn't mean he'll stay if he feels like we're not giving him the best shot at the championship.
  21. I think the real question here is... who in their right mind is up at 4:16 am?!?!I'm in Punta Cana right now so it was actually at 6:16am Up at 6:16am on vacation in a warm and sunny destination with your electronic internet device, posting on a message board. Your priorities are clearly different than mine. Get out there and enjoy, dude. You only live once. My job on vacation is to get up early and put our towels on the loungers so we get a good spot on the beach (yes we play the towel game). So I get up a few hours before my GF and have a few hours to kill early morning. Awww...boooo...hissss... I kick internet sand in your face.
  22. So....how about them Bears...
  23. Names don't matter, it's just a fact…the other guy is always better. Some sort of rule of thumb. You're in the wrong place again Dee. They're talking about Brohm in the other thread.
  24. Stubler won't leave unless he's fired. His family lives close by and he wants to be around them. The dude isn't young anymore, and his wife probably wants to be around the grand kids and the family while he's coaching 10-12 hours a day.
