  1. You forgot to hashtag #JoeMackForever He never even picked from the same board as the media.
  2. You forgot... By the power of Zeus, I never thought I see that again...
  3. Grigsby signed with the Ticats. They were able to pull him away from selling cars at the largest Kia dealership in Florida.
  4. Yes, and Jesse Palmer too. In 2013, the Calgary Sun reported the Als had Vince Young, Seneca Wallace and Russell Wilson on their negotiation list.
  5. Why is the title week 5? We're 3-3...
  6. The don't promote it as 100% proceeds going to amateur football. I don't see anything wrong with it. Any money the club doesn't make on the 50/50 is money that we'd end up paying in another way.
  7. Grant was 29 at his hire date, 30 for the first game. Riley was 33 when hired by the WBB. I think the O'shea hire was smart and still support him. This is a young team learning how to play together and learning how to win. Alas, the BB "fans" are once again cheering for the 3rd string QB and wanting a new coach. Some things never change. PS No CFL team has ever won the Grey Cup in July.
  8. Did Brohm do a bad job on short yardage? Maybe the coach is listening and the short yardage QB IS the 3rd stringer...
  9. Well yah, but you must know established Canadian RB's are a dime a dozen. I believe the ludicrous justification around here was that Messam didn't play S.T. and at the time the Bombers were being well served by Carl Volny. I don't believe Messam has the character that O'Shea requires or the budget that Walters requires. He seems to be all about Jerome (stats, money, playing time). Plus. he's not an every down back.
  10. "Yeah. Mother Nature's a homer." - Duane Ford
  11. Just like the MJHL, CIAU Basketball and CIAU Football in Winnipeg. CIAU volleyball and hockey does do better for attendance, but not by much.
  12. Ever thought ticket pricing may be the main issue here? That what we pay for in $$$$ to have our seats doesn't match what is displayed on the field? It's all about perspective. Two teams play at every game. Most of the time the visiting team has been worth watching. Just turn your jersey inside out.
  13. In 2003, I had season tickets in Section 0 Row 20 I believe. The seasons tickets were cheap ($250 each), on the 2 yard line in the lower bowl and the fans friendly around there. The stadium is really wide (due to the track), so the low seats kind of look through the players on the sidelines. There isn't a lot of covered seats in the stadium. Most if not all are season ticket holders (top 5 or 6 rows of the lower bowl). Be prepared for quickly changing weather (sun to rain, to monsoon, to sun within a single game) and the weather can change in an instant. Free parking is a bit of the walk to the stadium (none within 6 blocks of the stadium). The close neighbourhood to the north could be a little seedy at times. Have a good one. Get used to the "Another Eskimos... First Down!" and the 40's style Go Eskimos song at the 1st quarter. 50/50 pots can be huge, and if no one claims in 5 minutes, they have redrawn. That might have changed now, but did happen with a $41K pot one time.
  14. Is he? I didn't watch the game but people who were watching the stream said he was inconsistent. I trust the coaching staff whatever they do will be the right choice. Inconsistent maybe, but he was still more effective than anyone not named Willy. 6.9 yards per play in which he was involved and 14 points scored overall. No matter how you look at it, Marve has been able to move the offense and put points on the board on a consistent basis. It would be absolutely foolish to cut the guy. You remind me of Roadgriller and his fetish for Goltz. BTW I'm not saying Marve is anything like Goltz. Except Roadgriller had ZERO stats to back up his love for Goltz. Goltz had plenty of TDs. Those are stats. Plenty. IMO, Goltzdeserved a better chance at starting. Named one week, 3rd string the next.
  15. Fixed it for you.
  16. I sat there for about a minute trying to think of a Titans player... The only one to come to mind was Cortland Finnegan... who hasn't played there in 4 or 5 years... clearly I'm not in mid-season form... My guesses are Smith and Johnson. Every team has at least one player with either last name.
  17. why do you get 2 points on a safety? Why 3 when you kick the ball through the uprights? Why 6 when you advance the ball into the endzone? Because it's in the rules that's why. You shouldn't get a point for missing a field goal, but yes a rule is a rule. Throw back to our rugby roots or not .. the concept of rewarding failure sucks. Yup. Apparently we can make the OT an Arcade game, but the loser point stays. There are loser points in hockey for losing in OT or the Shootout. And that rule has only been in place for a decade or two...
  18. Hey, it's not like Wally left a pile of manure in his yard when McCallum missed a kick.
  19. Essentially cutting a NI kicker who hit 90% of his kicks last year in favour of an import before a pre-season game is played is a pretty bad start. Wally probably has his eyes on someone that will shake loose from another team. Younger, faster, and cheaper...
  20. Remember that what Kory alleges and what can actually be proven might not be quite as cut an dried as you seem to think. Let me give you a few examples: 1 - not providing independent doctors: Is there a requirement for the employer to do this? Did the player undertake to have this done on his own if the team refused? If it is required that the team provide this service and refused, did the employee ask for the union to get involved? Who defines what an "independent doctor is? 2 - not providing the best helmet technology: what exactly is "the best technology"? What metrics are used to come to that decision? Is adequate technology sufficient? (Does the company have to supply a cadillac, or will a chevy do?) 3 - Disseminating misinformation: Specifically, what information are we talking about? Just because the employee disagrees with the employer's opinion does not make it "misinformation". Can it be proved that the team knew that the information they were providing was inaccurate and yet did so anyway? And those are just a few things off the top of my head. I'm sure that there are many more. Again, bear in mind that just because a lawyer says something doesn't make him right. That's why there are courts and that's why plaintiffs actually lose from time to time. The big factor is which concussion causes the damage. The first one? Where were hey playing when the had the first one? High School? College? Maybe it was the last concussion? Do you think players are always honest with teams when they get hurt? How about their injury history?
  21. I was there.
  22. TuscaloosaBlue couldn't be Tuscaloosa Taman by any chance? Anyone want to bet for subs?
  23. I predict that the refs will not be beaten this season.
  24. I was surprised in 2012 to see the Grey Cup on NBC Sports on the hotel TV in Miami.
