  1. Glen Suitor's favourite word is "handfighting."
  2. Say what you want about Etch and his schemes, but the results this year have been great. There was only two (?) big plays that I can remember - Carter's run and Sutton's - and Sutton's would have been smaller had we wrapped up at any of the many opportunities we had. I think Etch has done outstanding work.
  3. I think playcalling is an easy target. Let me be clear: I have questions about it like everyone else, but I think Bellefeuille has us on the right track. On each play there's 30,000 people in the stands that each have their own idea on what the call should be and then there's everyone else at home too. Some of the success in the second half was a result of better execution by the players.
  4. Perhaps you haven't noticed him since he isn't chirping at the refs and taking a penalty.
  5. Its definitely reasonable to make a judgement on Cotton after four carries today. That or confirmation bias. I'll take the latter.
  6. I think the tendency is to think that how you play one week is going to be how you play the next week. Such a small league and any upset is possible really. I don't think we'll win, but I won't eliminate the possibility yet either.
  7. Good: This team. Good teams find a way to win tough games, even when a bad opponent is giving you one heck of a challenge. Leggett is freaking phenomenal. Same with Randle. Our whole secondary had a solid game tonight. Its amazing what a good returner on special teams can do. Stoudermire has completely changed that side of the ball. Speed, vision, and ball security so far have all been great. I had said previously that Woods had great ball security but wasn't a great threat while Demond was the opposite. Stoudermire seems like the best of both of them. Bad: Agree on Nick Moore. My concern is that his hands have always been the problem with him. Fumbles, drops...seems kind of what the Nick Moore Experience has always been about. He needed to haul down that high pass from Willy. Offense sputtered for most of the game. This one isn't so much a "bad" for today but our OL is still weak and January and Neufeld got hurt today. January returned but apparently was really limping in the locker room. This line is going to be weak until we can get healthy. Ugly: Those jerseys looked like pajamas. Also the 'W' impacted my viewing more than I thought. Perhaps I just wasn't used to it enough. Tom Higgins. He was awful tonight. Didn't challenge the Randle one which probably would have drawn a cheap flag, and then challenged the one after. You would think someone who worked in officiating would know what to do more frequently. He doesn't seem to have any idea what he wants to do with his team either. Not even sure he's really running the team at this point. Glen Suitor - for being his usual ignorant self and not understanding what is and isn't pass interference. He and Tom Higgins are still scratching their heads about that rule.
  8. Do you work in a men's bathhouse? No, just a professional nudist.
  9. Bomber wear would interfere with my suit. Birthday suit, rather.
  10. How much influence does one season have to have though? I think this season has so far shone a light on the debate, but really, I think the argument could be made that in a 9 team league one superdivision just makes it more fair. So regardless of what happens in the crappy East this year, I think this should definitely be looked at.
  11. Sheets is still an Oakland Raider and is being looked at as a primary returner and depth RB. I don't think he'll be back this year.
  12. Okay. So you think there's no point. And plenty of others do. What's the point in arguing about it? We get your point. I feel like a fan petition to change a jersey but have more viability than a petition to the "aquarium people" to make them build an aquarium in Winnipeg. that aquarium petition had over 100,000 names. This petition might have 100. How i envision you right now: I mean, I am trying to figure out how a petition affects you. Don't want to sign out? Fine. But its like you're actually insulted someone would attempt to petition for something they feel strongly about and are determined to shoot it down.
  13. Who do you present an aquarium petition to? The ministry incharge of aquariums? You're a fool. Obviously that was intended for the Aquarium President of Winnipeg Aquariums, division of Aquariums Manitoba. A ministry would just be redundant.
  14. Free Cotton!
  15. Guys, its clearly not the jerseys, its that he allowed a team to attempt to use all capital letters for a name.
  16. He's definitely done a lot of good for this league. That said, the question should be asked whether its from him or just a natural progression. A big TV contract, for example, is great. Was it because of Cohon or simply because football has continued to grow in popularity over the past decade? More likely the latter. He still deserves credit for helping grow the game but I'm somewhat interested to see what a new person can do. The biggest failures for Cohon have been finding ownership groups and fixing the officiating.
  17. Is it at all possible, if there is enough disdain for the uniforms, that Reebok "updates" it for next year's game? I can't see the Bombers, who have poured lots of resources to boast the history of the club be thrilled with having a single-coloured uniform
  18. It'd be neat to see a photoshopped version of a blue and gold helmet. Hopefully not as bold as the Jags one:
  19. I think their all-black helmets look ridiculous. The red ones and the new ones look good.
  20. If we wanted something really busy, this just popped up in the Twitter feed:
  21. Why does ours have to suck so much? Some of these jerseys and helmets are actually nice...
  22. Even the flipping pin has more gold...
  23. At least the gold ones look unique. Not great but not ugly and plain. Gold and digital camo and add some gold trim on the pants and numbers would be neat. Would like to see a photoshop from the front side.
  24. Anyone voting yes must provide pics of a purchase or it didn't happen.
  25. Why can't it be both? And what's wrong with that? No one will be forced to buy them. If they want to spend their money on one that's fine and dandy. What's wrong? They're forcing garbage on the fans all across the league, that's what's wrong. In Winnipeg's case, the unis most fans want & the Bombers promised they'd wear, we never see. Like you, I think these are crap. But I'm going to interrupt you here because they aren't forcing anything on you. Don't want to buy one? Okay. Decide that this is the last straw for you? Fine, don't watch a game. The CFL is in the business of making money. You can vote with your wallet. Spare us though that these atrocities will somehow be forced into your life. Forcing means having to watch them play wearing those things. Tell 17to85, TBurgess, Mike, kelownabomberfan & everyone else who doesn't like the look not to watch if we all don't like them. Nobody else is making the same "force" claim you are.
