  1. He stands 6'5" and weighs 215 lbs. Could be a FB for the Bombers. He worked out as a receiver and will do the same for the esks He has the athletic pedigree, and if he makes it in the CFL, maybe with the Bombers, it would be the second CFL/NHL brother combo. For a guy who didn't play any college football I find it hard to believe he is a CFL contender... if he was that good why didn't Dobie recruit him (or maybe he did and decided to play bball instead?)... this could just be a case of the name getting a try-out... My guess is that he just felt he was better at basketball and so chose that for college. Who knows? Nothing wrong with taking a look, either way. Ya he was pretty good at basketball. He played college ball at Brandon and then looked around Europe for a pro deal for a bit.
  2. Pretty sure he wants an X receiver as an import from the free agent camps, not the draft. Its possible, but the article was discussing Canadian WRs in the draft. No it was discussing both the Canadian draft and the free agent camp. Several issues discussed in one article. Read it again. The part about the X receiver is under the free agent camp section. think it is nonspecific enough to refer to either Canadian or American receivers playing the X spot.

  4. I can't see us taking Demski but the homer aspect of it makes it kind of cool. Sounds from the article though that Walters would be more interested in an X receiver and that is likely not going to be a spot Demski plays.
  5. I'd lock him down for another three or four years.
  6. I've read quite a bit from Rider fans on Miles, and some of it is definitely concerning. I am not sure I buy all of it though, particularly since almost everyone seems to speak highly of Miles other than them. Guess we will see what he's like in camp and through the year.
  7. I really hope Swiston does well. Kid worked really hard here.
  8. I would LOVE to bring back Wallace Miles - for a reasonable cost of course. Still think he can be a tremendous player in this league.
  9. I think we had a pretty great day today. A really good left tackle, and a solid right tackle. Then depth WR, LB and DL. Works for me. Sounds like the deals were all pretty reasonable too. Paying just slightly more to Bryant than January has to be considered a good move, January was far weaker in my opinion last season.
  10. Ugh. I have a gift card that I've been holding on to so I could buy what I thought would be new, royal blue jerseys this year. If this doesn't happen I'm going to be really ticked off.
  11. Cory Watson looked like a future superstar but between all the injuries just could never piece it together. At this point in his career I don't think he'll ever manage to stay healthy for long parts of the season. I wish him well in Sask. This trade is pretty solid for us. We move up quite a bit higher in the draft - in what I'm lead to believe is a deep class - and yet manage to bring back a young, Canadian WR who was thought of highly in last year's draft. Now that we've got several high-ish picks this year, I think we could strongly look at taking a non-lineman at 2nd overall. If I'm being a true homer, I want Demski at that spot. Lots of time (and free agency) to figure all that out though.
  12. Honestly took me a few seconds to realize that this referred to Fred Stamps and not some sort of sentence error that involved the Stampeders. That tells me what I need to know about Fred Stamps right now as a player.
  13. Great signing, more good work from Walters.
  14. The Sun has several uses. Reading it for actual analysis is not one of them. All the uses involve fecal clean up. Penton usually has good info so his twitter is valuable. I can't remember I actually visited their website or read a paper copy. It's useless.
  15. I like Hall > Benevides, but what is interesting is that Bomber brass seems to as well. They are going after some big names with those two and both seem to be interested in coming here. That's a positive.
  16. Are we really complaining? This is a good thing. It shows the Bombers are going to be able to make those payments and that they are making enough to afford them. Somehow, despite so many media members screaming, the sky didn't fall.
  17. Stewart was really good here. Always liked him a lot.
  18. Another good move. He's a good player, fits well here. Love that we are signing our Canadians. Baby steps as we improve that aspect of the team.
  19. He took a leave from the Bucs due to health issues, if I recall. Cortez will really help the offense but we'll see what happens at QB first.
  20. I would love to see Hall's effect on this secondary. Hope he wants to leave Sask and head over to the good side.
  21. I think Brohm winds up back here.
  22. I still think our offensive (and even some defensive) issues stem from the personnel and not coaching. Like how our running game looked a whole lot better with Cotton over Grigsby suddenly. Our WRs for the most part underperformed. Guys like Kelly and Bryant are not going to help create a viable offense.
  23. Strikes me as a downgrade to go from Cortez to Chapdelaine, though Chapdelaine still isn't a bad option. Will wait and see what happens if they get Benevides, but I'm not sure I see the end goal from the Rider perspective. Still strikes me as scapegoating the coords, particularly if they DON'T come away with Benevides as DC.
  24. Cause it matters so much considering it's ******* december.....smh Just goes to show the rampant dysfunction that still exists in the Bomber front office. Power struggle for a month and a half over firing a coordinator. Why are you married to this idea that the length of time it took to make the announcement automatically means there was a power struggle? That's a pretty huge leap, based on complete lack of facts to support that. I guess when you leave the fan base twisting in the wind for 7 weeks after the season, it leaves a lot of time for speculation. My bad, I guess. I should just buy my tickets like a good little boy and stop questioning anything the Bombers do. Lemmings Atomic. That's all they are. Can't question because you're not loyal. Can't ask why things are taking so long because you're impatient. Some fans would jump off a 500 meter cliff if Walters told them so just because Walters told them so. Relax he'd say, you'll land on your feet. Won't hurt a bit. They'd believe him. I'm just glad the guy is gone so we can move forward with a coach who can actually build a defense. Besides, like the majority of us didn't think it would end this way? There are so many strawmen in this paragraph you're going to have buy some farm land. Nobody, literally nobody, is saying you "can't question" the team or franchise.
