  1. Is Masoli looking better than Collaros? I didn't get to see the latter play.
  2. Can't see anyone getting fired as a head coach in season. MAYBE Higgins if they really were to fall apart, only because I think Montreal doesn't really know what they want to do. I would wager we will see an OC fired though in season.
  3. I just tuned in a little while ago after getting home. I continually think the West will have a crossover team- IF they don't all kill each other.
  4. Grigsby is a bad blocker and I still would like to see Cotton in.
  5. Agreed... however anything with Jon Benjamin can pretty much be labelled "hipster" Really? The dude is freaking funny. How are we defining hipster? Archer is fantastic, cartoon or not. Community, Archer, AD, 30 Rock...all shows that are "smart-funny" and not laugh-tracked crap.
  6. I am pretty excited for tonight. If memory serves, we were the first team to lose to the Renegades so I'm hoping history doesn't repeat itself here. Dave Ritchie said you didn't want to be the answer to that trivia question.
  7. So basically, what I've learned is that you don't like humour...
  8. Community > Modern Family #sixseasonsandamovie FYI: http://uproxx.com/tv/2014/06/holy-crap-yahoo-just-saved-community-and-picked-it-up-for-a-sixth-season/
  9. Arrested Development is better, I wouldn't be able to pick a winner between 30 Rock and Modern Family.
  10. Ottawa will be competitive tomorrow because they've got a good QB, and I actually expect their defense to look a little better than Toronto's. I would be surprised if this was an easy victory. Then again, I don't mean to brag, but the Bombers are 1-0 when I'm in attendance this year so maybe I just have that effect...
  11. Sucks for us, but I don't blame him. Turner has been nothing but a good employee on and off the field for us. This is more important than football.
  12. So much Buono love...can we just get rid of this crappy meme that Buono can't be questioned? There's no doubt that he's one of the greatest coaches of all-time, perhaps even the best, and his track record of evaluating talent is superb. Still, everybody makes mistakes, Buono included. His team has their own set of flaws to deal with just like any other team.
  13. I'm interested to see how this plays out in the locker room. Banks helped recruit guys like Nick Moore.
  14. If Banks was serious about what he's said, he would have accepted a lesser role here to help the team win. As an injury replacement he could have been valuable. They clearly don't feel he's on board with that and he doesn't sound like he is.
  15. Definitely a mistake by Walters, but you know what, at least he admitted it and moved on quick. Fix the locker room and maintain it. That was a huge project after last season. It's unfortunate it came to this, but I'm stoked so see O'Shea remodel the team psyche.
  16. I wish we were in the East...
  17. I still am hoping for Etienne.
  18. Play the best players we have. Despite the potential image damage to the franchise (which I don't think is a big deal), players will be happy that the best players get on the field. After all, the best sales pitch we can do for future free agents is show that we are building a consistent, winning team. Still, if they trade him, I would bet something comes out later that we don't know now. There has to be more to it. Even if he's not starting, you'd think they would keep him around for depth once injuries hit in the long season. Something just doesn't add up right now.
  19. To play a bit of Devil's Advocate here, the sample size for Banks as a Bomber is extremely tiny. Yes, he definitely dropped off in BC last year, but when comparing him to guys like Dunn and Sears (who has been injured frequently), I'm not sure I agree with the thinking that our current players are so far and away better than Banks that he's expendable.
  20. This looks bad, but hey, better to admit a mistake than to let your ego get in the way and keep saying it'll work. I don't think anyone will trade for him, which is unfortunate. I'd keep him around a bit longer, but perhaps they're not happy with how he will handle a reduced role?
  21. I think he's one of the best coordinators in the league, or at least was when he actually was a DC before taking over. He had a strong argument for being the best one even. He should turn that D around eventually. He does say a lot of dumb things though.
  22. So much to love from this game. Offense has schemes that look solid. Put Willy in position to succeed often. The defense was more impressive than I thought it would be. Lots of speed, and really loved Leggett out there. A few missed tackles so hopefully we can get past those. Special teams was solid but coverage was iffy. O'Shea is going to despise that 13-man call and the big returns. Post game highlight: "Glenn Suitor is wrong" - Mike O'Shea (referring to Banks' injury vs healthy scratch) At the very least there is a lot to indicate we are in for a fun season. It will still have a lot of bumps and falls, but it should be exciting to see this team grow and develop. Its been a long time since I've wanted someone to succeed for the Bombers on not only a professional level, but personal as well. I find myself rooting for O'Shea now both because he is the head coach of my favourite team, but also because I just want the guy to do well.
  23. I thought he was alright, but I don't think he played great. I am looking forward to having Cotton in there. Grigsby still struggled with reads and was slow on cuts, for most of the game. Did better near the end when they ran him on sweeps with a lot of green space to hit.
  24. He looked really composed tonight, very accurate and showed good decision making. From my vantage point up top it looked like the one big error was staring down the receiver on his pick. Seemed to feel the pressure well. I'm excited. It is one game though. I just want to see continual growth. Contrary to what the fans in the bathrooms were shouting, I will not buy my Grey Cup ticket yet.
  25. don't. this is the dawn of the rebuild that the Bombers should have begun several years ago. the Wade/Kyle/Osh thing needs a year to gain traction and momentum. yeah, i know you've heard that refrain several times over the last 2 decades... and that the emotional stamina required to willingly get on the same roller coaster that has made you nauseous over and over is immense (i am a Leaf fan after all)... but the aggregate of the Bomber's moves since Miller came on board (and put Walters in place, and hired O'Shea and allowed him to have a dozen other coaches) has got to have you looking at the team's trajectory and believing in it. (heck... i do) I'm excited overall, but that doesn't mean I think tonight is going to end well.
