I think he's one of the best coordinators in the league, or at least was when he actually was a DC before taking over. He had a strong argument for being the best one even. He should turn that D around eventually. He does say a lot of dumb things though.

So much to love from this game. Offense has schemes that look solid. Put Willy in position to succeed often. The defense was more impressive than I thought it would be. Lots of speed, and really loved Leggett out there. A few missed tackles so hopefully we can get past those. Special teams was solid but coverage was iffy. O'Shea is going to despise that 13-man call and the big returns. Post game highlight: "Glenn Suitor is wrong" - Mike O'Shea (referring to Banks' injury vs healthy scratch) At the very least there is a lot to indicate we are in for a fun season. It will still have a lot of bumps and falls, but it should be exciting to see this team grow and develop. Its been a long time since I've wanted someone to succeed for the Bombers on not only a professional level, but personal as well. I find myself rooting for O'Shea now both because he is the head coach of my favourite team, but also because I just want the guy to do well.

I thought he was alright, but I don't think he played great. I am looking forward to having Cotton in there. Grigsby still struggled with reads and was slow on cuts, for most of the game. Did better near the end when they ran him on sweeps with a lot of green space to hit.

He looked really composed tonight, very accurate and showed good decision making. From my vantage point up top it looked like the one big error was staring down the receiver on his pick. Seemed to feel the pressure well. I'm excited. It is one game though. I just want to see continual growth. Contrary to what the fans in the bathrooms were shouting, I will not buy my Grey Cup ticket yet.

don't. this is the dawn of the rebuild that the Bombers should have begun several years ago. the Wade/Kyle/Osh thing needs a year to gain traction and momentum. yeah, i know you've heard that refrain several times over the last 2 decades... and that the emotional stamina required to willingly get on the same roller coaster that has made you nauseous over and over is immense (i am a Leaf fan after all)... but the aggregate of the Bomber's moves since Miller came on board (and put Walters in place, and hired O'Shea and allowed him to have a dozen other coaches) has got to have you looking at the team's trajectory and believing in it. (heck... i do) I'm excited overall, but that doesn't mean I think tonight is going to end well.

I wish I didn't have a sinking feeling about this game.

His quotes show how utterly clueless he was last year. In my opinion coaching was one of the biggest problems last year, right beside lack of a good QB.

I've had many good steaks at the Keg. If they serve me one that's over done, does that immediately make them a bad restaurant? If I've watched two other people try the steak they just put on my plate and proceed to spit it out, then yes.

I don't think it's a big deal. They'll still have all their media availability to create their standard articles. Most of the stories are "Player X wants to have an impact this year" or "Player Y hopes to make impression". Being in the locker room doesn't do much for increasing the quality of their work and it's probably nice for the players to not have them in there asking the same standard questions over and over.

What ever happened to Jordan Sisco? His career just didn't work out in Sask.

Ferri fits Etch D. Disagree. Etch wants smaller, faster. Ferri's slowed down and really isn't the hybrid or multi-dimensional player that Etch wants for those weird schemes.

SIGN MOAR NATIONALS Seriously though, Jade Etienne caught everything thrown his way when I would see him in camp and in his short game reps. Last year I really thought the only thing he needed to show himself as a really good talent was to be featured more in an offense. I would sign him in a heartbeat. Gives us more breathing room to start two Canadian receivers. Wasn't his fault he got drafted fourth overall.

Please, I'm begging you Walters, sign some of these Canadians.

I would take a look at Wheaton and pretty much any young Canadian OL. Even Canadian DL. Our roster is just so thin.
