CFL cuts
Popp should have taken any shot at the NFL before this year, since it will likely take shine off his star.

CFL cuts
Regarding what? Probably about some Bomber pickups Ya

CFL cuts
I was really hoping we'd get some rumours tonight but it doesn't look like we'll hear anything.

CFL cuts
Ferri fits Etch D. Disagree. Etch wants smaller, faster. Ferri's slowed down and really isn't the hybrid or multi-dimensional player that Etch wants for those weird schemes.

CFL cuts
SIGN MOAR NATIONALS Seriously though, Jade Etienne caught everything thrown his way when I would see him in camp and in his short game reps. Last year I really thought the only thing he needed to show himself as a really good talent was to be featured more in an offense. I would sign him in a heartbeat. Gives us more breathing room to start two Canadian receivers. Wasn't his fault he got drafted fourth overall.

Please, I'm begging you Walters, sign some of these Canadians.

CFL cuts
I would take a look at Wheaton and pretty much any young Canadian OL. Even Canadian DL. Our roster is just so thin.

Calgary vs BC
Both teams looking a little shaky right now. If the Bombers could just pull off a few miracles they might get ahead of BC.

Bombers Hire Additional Staff
Sorry iso, I have to call you on this one. 1) First, quality control coach is about one step above water boy in the grand scheme of things. Its just another set of eyes on the game film, and some of their job is to collect and sort it (from what I've heard, maybe this won't hold true for the Bombers). 2) You would like the staff to "encompass a lot more experience" but both our coordinators have been in the CFL for over a decade (with brief stints out). 3) This hire isn't meant to 'inspire a lot of confidence.' Its a quality control coach. 4) Re: cheap. The Bombers now have added a ton more coaches than last year (hell, almost double) which would indicate that they are spending quite a bit more in the coaching department in previous seasons. But yes, I am assuming a quality control coach came cheap, because its a low, entry-level coaching position...

Roster Cut Discussion
I think, looking at the list of who DIDN'T get cut, it shows that this roster is still very weak and in for a rough year.

The starting offensive line
Flip Knapp and Neufeld if it were up to me. Knapp will be exposed outside.

Only 22,500 tickets sold for home opener
Wish I was going but overall, I think the Thursday game hurts them. Overall I think people prefer Fri-Sat. I know I much prefer those days. For casual fans I think it winds up just being easier to stay in on Thursday night, watch the game and be able to stick in your normal routine of your work week a little better.

QB Kolton Browning
Gotta think Max Hall is a goner after this.

[Merged] 2014 Predictions / Standing Forecast
Calgary Sask Then Winnipeg, BC and Edmonton in some form. My prediction is that the Bombers won't finish last in the division. So right now I'd go BC, Winnipeg, then Edmonton.

Paris Cotton injury update
Was this the injury near the end of the game? Because if so that's a major gaffe by the coaches. He shouldn't have been in there at that time.

BlueBombers 2014 Games TSN Video-On-Demand
Because they sold off all the digital rights to TSN in the last TV deal. Which is great for the league because TSN limits access to the content (it's basically impossible for most of western Canada to access TSNGO at this point) and uses the CFL as collateral to attempt to squeeze cable providers into giving them more money. Oh I know, I just think the CFL should really consider doing the smart thing for a change and try to put a package together that wouldn't run primarily through cable. Any CFL streaming package would divert some money to TSN anyways since they're the rights holder, plus it means more eyeballs for their ads.

BlueBombers 2014 Games TSN Video-On-Demand
I've never understood why the CFL doesn't offer their own CFL streaming package. I would pay to have access to all the live games (well, we do already to for TSN) and the recorded ones. Particularly if they offered coaches' film like the NFL does.

GDT: Winnipeg @ Calgary
Would be an interesting lineup at least. Problem probably lies in the backups there though. Carter and Renaud still are projects.
-
Can we "Worman" Gary Ethchevery?
I am not a fan of Etch but we need to give him time to see if his defense works here. Two preseason games with basic schemes AND probably thirty percent of the players won't ever be in a lineup this year.
-
GDT: Winnipeg @ Calgary
I don't mind it. Might be the best option now. Sucks for Knapp, but they played him at tackle for some stupid reason and he was bad there.
-
Can we "Worman" Gary Ethchevery?
Yawn. Don't like the D but I'm not ever endorsing a coach firing this early. Only makes us a circus like Montreal.

Depth chart for Saturdays preseason game vs Calgary
Honestly if we do find ourselves pressed for Canadian starters at least with this you could sub in Morley. He's not good, but still...at least it's an option. I really want to see Knapp pull on runs though. He's built like a tight end.

Training camp report June 12
I finished re-watching the game today and I think Hall still has a better chance of panning out than Brohm does. For the most part I think Hall would have looked a lot better had his receivers made the plays they should have (and Tarver just sucks so having him gone soon should help). I was actually surprised by how Hall looked the second time around.

Who gets cut first
Wouldn't cut Banks. I'm more concerned about the D schemes than any particular player really, but even those won't be the ones we see in the opener.

Main Camp Day 8
It's a walk through but I am still a little tempted to go, just to see what they're doing and who's playing where.
