You said last, not me. And hey, if he WINS, then there can't really be any debate, can there? I believe my sarcastically written comment indicates that maybe judging Goltz on wins and losses isn't completely fair, seeing as everyone including him will have to share in the blame. I fail to see how any young QB can succeed in this scenario, but that won't stop fans from burying Goltz (and then Hall, once he gets the nod again). Great QBs thrive on adversity. Mediocre QBs make excuses and beg for patience. This is nothing more than just motivational talk masquerading as wisdom. Unless he can block, throw and catch at the same time, Goltz is reliant on others around to help him succeed. There are things he can control, clearly, and needs to do so to have success. That does not mean if he doesn't thrive in this gong show on Sunday he can't become more than what he currently is.

"One last chance"? With a crappy offensive line, new and/or awful receivers and an OC who's been here three weeks, how can he NOT succeed in that scenario?! Oh, and the opposing team is one of the league's best. What a great situation for Goltz!

Greg "The" Peach Signs with Bombers, Freddie Harris Released
Captain Blue replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Ok but how about when you're throwing 50% in practice and in games? Then what? If he's not improving in practice then he's not going to get any better in games. Please. I've been to practice and training camp dozens of times over the last 3 years and he looks the same as he did on day one. Overthrows and underthrows the most balls of any QB we've had here in that time. It's naive to think it will get better by playing in games. Well then if he's looked the same to you then I guess that's settled. I will definitely not believe the other reports that Goltz has improved, since you have now clearly said he hasn't. Believe what you want to believe... I really don't care. I know what I've seen and the coaches' reluctance to start Goltz backs it up. Our coaches are definitely known to make smart decisions on personnel. -

If Collaros looks good does Toronto re-sign him and protect him? This is going to be interesting.

I am just curious to know why this team hates Goltz so much. Out of the three has the best physical skillset (obviously you need more than that) but he also provides a lot more flexibility in the game plan. Boltus possesses a similar skillset and they just brought him in, yet Goltz doesn't get any love. -
The Legend of Khari Jones
Captain Blue replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Khari was great, until age and injuries caught up to him. -
That is one craptacular starting WR lineup.

What a terrible ruling. Complete and utter BS.

Greg "The" Peach Signs with Bombers, Freddie Harris Released
Captain Blue replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's not so much that I dislike the move for this season - Peach if healthy will be better than Harris - but I'd rather approach the rest of the season as a training camp. I want to find long term solutions, and Peach isn't likely going to be one. I understand why they prefer this method though, as my job isn't on the line. -

Pierce being hurt is a blessing. This team is an utter mess, and with all the new players, the QBs who get the practice time are the ones that need to play. It's a sad state of affairs but with Goltz and Boltus the only guys out there with several new players and presumably some new schemes from MB you have to roll with what you have. Hopefully Hall gets out there soon. At one point the QBs had to practice zone-read handoffs. Now I haven't been to camp for a while so perhaps they do it everyday (likely) but it also struck me as something that indicates how far we have to go. DeAngelis and McKnight kicked field goals after practice. Both were solid from inside and at 40, a little shakier outside the 40. DeAngelis dropped one about 10 yards short at one point and then McKnight followed that up by putting one maybe five yards short. For the most part they were a lot stronger than those two kicks indicated.

Hi Capt, who's on WIL spot ? Right now we have McGee and whoever is 36 mirroring Muamba 36 is Sheffield Did you caught this? Stayed right to the end but I don't remember if I saw Creehan yell specifically. Plemons and the DL was in front of me for a bit and he was really vocal.
-
Ya he and Kelly were both there. Kelly is 19 and MSW is 17. Kelly is exactly the guy we all remember from his time in Hamilton. He's big, not extremely fast but he caught the ball when thrown to. MSW was smooth out there, very fluid. Neither got much time with the 1s.

Wallace Miles working with first team

Sorry now in are Dunn and 42

Watching live here... Goltz taking all first team reps since we only have the two QBs dressed. He looks okay. Hopefully they go with him.

Palardy and Isaac Anderson released
Captain Blue replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Man this kicker situation moved quick. I always thought Burke liked Anderson a lot, maybe that changed after he sucked in his game time. -
It seems Tim Burke really didn't like Palardy - and it seems likely that Mack continued to force that roster move. Two kickers in a matter of weeks already.

Burke: Happy with Buck's play on Saturday
Captain Blue replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This is such flimsy reasoning. Weak. You can see with your OWN EYES that Buck isn't playing well. Do you also believe everything politicians tell you? Or that lawyers are always telling the truth? I sure hope so, because unless you can show me your law degree or that you're secretly Stephen Harper we should all just close and eyes and accept what they say as gospel. its a double edged sword.tho.. why do you assume hes lying? Because he's given me plenty of evidence suggesting I should question his decisions. i also saw hall and goltz not fair much better.. i assume you did too.. "Not fair much better" = better. you nor i know EXACTLY what plays were called and/audibles...we also don't know if the o-line executed properly, if the receivers ran the right routes or if the rb blocked the right gap.. So? I don't need to know the exact plays to know that Pierce can't read a blitz and makes terrible decisions on the field. so without knowing even half of this info, isn't it safe to assume your simply guessing or going by your own opinion? id take a coaches take on it over your or my own opinion any day... why? guess im just a dumb ole follower (even though I'm probably on par with you or close to it football knowledge wise and after watching the same game) For the sake of not personally attacking you I won't reply to this. -
Wonder how healthy he is. Couldn't stay healthy at all as he bounced around the NFL.

He's a journeyman. Most journeymen don't amount to much, I'm afraid. First you criticize Mack for quite literally everything related to this team - and then you go and criticize the approach that you've clamoured for.
