  1. i thought all qbs looked equally crappy... i also dont have a score card or video footage to reference like the coaches do so i too tend to listen to what the coaches say over forum denizens/media.. i dont think the o-line played well.. at all.. and from what i understand, edwards was the only consistent reciever.. *shrug* i still think coaches and coordinators are the.best judges of whos doing their jobs and i cant see why they would willingly lie about players performances... especially when hes been brutally honest in the past... This is called an "authority bias" - people want to trust the people in power, even when there is evidence to suggest otherwise.
  2. Maybe he thinks that if he says it enough it'll come true.
  3. Just fire Tim Burke. He honestly has no idea what he's doing.
  4. Listening to Troy Westwood is the equivalent to reading Paul Friesen.
  5. If we are going to suck (and that is clearly the stage we are at) then at least do it with young QBs so we can see if they have any potential. For this reason, I'm okay with Goltz, Hall and Boltus (and likely someone else since Hall could be out).
  6. You liked your own post...
  7. Hahahahaha you never disappoint.
  8. When is Brown not ready to fire anyone? That's kind of his thing...
  9. I'd be okay with Brink here. If we had decent coaching to use his athleticism he could be at least an adequate placeholder. Not a big Porter fan but I will support anyone but Buck.
  10. This is what ticks me off the most about people that just blindly hate Mack. They criticize him for things he doesn't deserve criticism for. The man built a currently 1-6 team, and one that has sucked for two years now. There is plenty of legitimate things to criticize Mack for. That does not mean every move (or non-move) he made was wrong. Fans at this point just love to revise history here and blame literally everything on him now. I could not stop facepalming through half this thread.
  11. HOLY. ****. This is the right move, but you will have to excuse my shock. I'm not used to the team making logical decisions..
  12. Right there with ya. I can't wait for them both to get far, far away from this team.
  13. Super. We lost to Hamilton when our defense was good and our Pierce-led offense sucked. Now we've got a crappy defense and a Pierce-led offense. Pierce is genital herpes to this team. He's not good for you and he keeps coming back.
  14. Tried and true. Now that he's gone Mack will be treated as the devil to every issue, regardless of whether it's his fault.
  15. You guys aren't going by your real names? My birth certificate is Captain B. Blue. The B stands for Big.
  16. Said we need to give our young QBs time to grow...
  17. Playcalling will be the biggest change, in my opinion. Terminology will be a big challenge for Bellefuille, he'll have to stick with it. Many of the players have said that the playbook isn't that different from what other CFL teams run.
  18. Let's hope so.
  19. Which means they'll have Buck back in just in time for Labour Day... and a fifty point loss...
  20. Not sad to see him go, though I don't think he deserved all the hate he got. OC is always an easy position to criticize. Interested to see what Bellefuille can do at the OC spot (who didn't see this move coming, honestly?). We have gone from one of the least experienced OCs to the most in one move. Time will tell if Bellefuille can do anything to save this offense. First decision for him will be to figure out who starts at QB. Have to think he goes back to Buck (/vomits). Burke and Creehan better figure out that defense quick.
  21. Ya who exactly is he coaching up right now?
  22. The uniforms were kind of neat but I found them just overly dark. The numbers are far less prominent with just an orange outline separating the black of the jersey.
  23. We are long past firing individual people. I say with complete sincerity: FIRE EVERYONE.
  24. I call BS, Goltz has read defenses at at least an adequate if not average level.
  25. Both QBs have strengths and weaknesses. Goltz is athletic and still very raw. He's got good arm strength, allows us to run the zone-read, and makes good decisions. His accuracy issues are overstated here, in my opinion. For all the talk about it, he's two percentage points below Pierce and Hall. That is about about 1 completion difference per game if your QB throws the ball 30 times. I could go on and on about not relying on anecdotes like "Goltz one-hops the ball!" Dude made some bad throws. Overall the percentage still isn't that bad. Hall played well for a rookie. Very composed, definitely a fit for a traditional offense. Compared to Goltz his arm is weaker and doesn't allow us to run zone-read (at least not well). His decision making was solid in the first half, not so great in the second. He chalked the INTs up to miscommunication with the receivers so maybe I'll pick up on it more when I re-watch the game. The benefit I see in Hall is that he pushes the ball down field. That was probably the most aggressive our offense has been with any of the three QBs. Accuracy was good, not great. Goltz at 57.7%, Hall at 60%, and Pierce at 60.4% means that the difference right now between any of the three is negligible. I think there are building blocks for success in Goltz and Hall. Personally I'm a fan of the different things we can do with Goltz and for that reason I favour him, but I am really on team AnyoneButBuck. Both theses two QBs have positives and negatives. The only way to find out if either has long term staying power will be to play them and let them play even when their weaknesses appear.
