Creehan has to go... replace him with who?
Captain Blue replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Ya who exactly is he coaching up right now? -
The uniforms were kind of neat but I found them just overly dark. The numbers are far less prominent with just an orange outline separating the black of the jersey.

Creehan has to go... replace him with who?
Captain Blue replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We are long past firing individual people. I say with complete sincerity: FIRE EVERYONE. -
I call BS, Goltz has read defenses at at least an adequate if not average level.
-
Both QBs have strengths and weaknesses. Goltz is athletic and still very raw. He's got good arm strength, allows us to run the zone-read, and makes good decisions. His accuracy issues are overstated here, in my opinion. For all the talk about it, he's two percentage points below Pierce and Hall. That is about about 1 completion difference per game if your QB throws the ball 30 times. I could go on and on about not relying on anecdotes like "Goltz one-hops the ball!" Dude made some bad throws. Overall the percentage still isn't that bad. Hall played well for a rookie. Very composed, definitely a fit for a traditional offense. Compared to Goltz his arm is weaker and doesn't allow us to run zone-read (at least not well). His decision making was solid in the first half, not so great in the second. He chalked the INTs up to miscommunication with the receivers so maybe I'll pick up on it more when I re-watch the game. The benefit I see in Hall is that he pushes the ball down field. That was probably the most aggressive our offense has been with any of the three QBs. Accuracy was good, not great. Goltz at 57.7%, Hall at 60%, and Pierce at 60.4% means that the difference right now between any of the three is negligible. I think there are building blocks for success in Goltz and Hall. Personally I'm a fan of the different things we can do with Goltz and for that reason I favour him, but I am really on team AnyoneButBuck. Both theses two QBs have positives and negatives. The only way to find out if either has long term staying power will be to play them and let them play even when their weaknesses appear.

If we fly a Bomber logo/flag upside down, that's not a copyright issue, right?
-
The refs were horrendous tonight for both teams. I couldn't tell what was getting a flag and what wasn't.
-
Keep calm and fire everyone.
-
First time in a while I've actually been interested in pre game stuff.
-
It's more like I'm at my usual excitement level for football, whereas at other games I'm even more amped.
-
I feel like tonight's game is going to be really boring. I'm just not that excited for it, though I will look forward to seeing Hall out there.
-
Sign him!

Out of curiousity why is the "About" gone?
-
Rather, playing and playing well aren't the same thing. I am sure this staff is so in love with Pierce that he will get another shot, but he won't do anything with that opportunity.
-
I love the colours.

But, but, but...BUCK IS BETTER BECAUSE BUCK IS A NICE GUY!!!! -- Even when comparing boxcar stats such as completion percentage, for instance, Buck has a less than 3% difference. Neither really lighting it up with Buck at 60.4% and Goltz at 57.7%. I would urge everyone to not go off anecdotal evidence - everyone remembers Goltz's passes in the dirt against BC for example - but it's important to consider the work as a whole. I honestly am not sure how people continue to support Pierce.
-
Not a big fan of this move but I'm excited that they seem to be moving quickly on some of these. Mack is fired and already we see Swiston go in for Morley (long overdue), a new kicker that hopefully won't put the ball into the benches so often and obviously Max Hall in at QB.

What Happens If We Beat The Ti-Cats?
Captain Blue replied to Blitzy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You know it's coming. And I'm going to flip my **** when Buck goes in. -
Bringing Vega back would be huge. We can use him all over that line right now.
-
I like that Miller has a strong, decisive hand on the wheel. I just hope he's not prone to impulsive turns.
-
Miller will win me over quickly if he knocks Friesen down a peg or five. Probably not a wise career move but it would make me laugh so hard.

Many, including myself criticized Pierce for not being supportive when he was benched. Can't just criticize Pierce and not Goltz for the same mistake. -

Everyone is talking about this "betrayed" word but considering how Justin answered the question, I think the reporter likely asked him "Do you feel betrayed?" or some variant of that. Still doesn't make Goltz correct for airing this out in the media, but I would bet that knowing this town's media it was a leading question. -
Miller said they'll do a full search, but that Walters will be a top candidate for the position. I'm not completely against it. On the radio just now Walters said all CFL teams have to be built on three levels: 1) QB, 2) Canadian talent and 3rd American talent. We're also keeping Ken Moll as the top scout (or THE scout) at the moment. Walters has potential and while I'd be more comfortable with a more proven candidate, if we can pair the best part of Mack's regime (American scouting) with Walters' Canadian scouting AND his desire to fix the QB position (which is to say, do SOMETHING at the position) then I might be sold. I'm still in favour of blowing it all up, but Walters might not be the worst option out there. Conversely he might not be the best one either.
