He just had to apologize for it. He has to reign it in a bit. -

That was a nice bullet throw by Reilly. -

I like it honestly. The most intelligent part of TSN's coverage. -

Interested to see Reilly tonight. Also I'm already sick of all these teams playing the same opponent for two weeks straight. Only 8 teams in the league, we don't need to see all these repeat matchups already. -

Did you guys know Paredes is going for a record? Rod Black is going for a record on how many times he can reference a potential record. -

Ya I think we may see a lot more creativity with Goltz under centre. We saw them move the pocket way more with him in and obviously they have designated runs in there for him too. The zone-read will become a lot more of a threat now with a QB that can pull the ball. The offensive plays have shown some potential early on, there just hasn't been enough of them consistently. They ran some high-percentage throws on Buck's first drive of the game and even he had some success with them. The playcalling was a lot more "normal" (ie. what we're used to) after that. I wouldn't sink Crowton just yet. I want to see him with a mobile QB in charge. -

What a game. For as high as some in the league are on Bo Levi Mitchell (and Rod Black just finished raving about him), I think he and Goltz are fairly similar. Mitchell's not doing anything special right now, just hitting the reads he's supposed to make and using his legs to throw off the defense. Montreal is a freaking mess. -

HC and QB. He has brought in so much talent at all the other positions but his young QBs didn't pan out and now his second HC isn't either. -

I really like our staff right now actually. The Burke/Creehan tandem is outstanding, the problem is that Burke as a HC isn't working out for us right now. He has more time to turn it around but if he continues with Buck he deserves his fate. -
Interesting. Honestly on my rewatch today I thought Goltz looked better than I thought he did yesterday.
-
More fun: He was in a good rhythm for the first drive of the game then slowly dropped off and then hit his wall again in the second quarter.
-
Bombers aren't sure if Buck will be healthy enough to go this week but even after that here's this great nugget... From the Freep just now: Insane.
-
I think its pretty clear Burke has some sort of major blind spot or ego when it comes to Pierce.
-
Ya definitely...Goltz only threw for 41 more yards (on only one more attempt), posted a higher completion percentage, didn't turn the ball over (compared to a game-changing interception), managed to avoid the blitz and showed more pocket composure than Buck. The situations were different to be sure, but even taking that into account, to pretend Goltz was "not better than Buck yesterday" is one heckuva troll job.

I read Burke's postgame comments online this morning and thought his assessment of Goltz was fairly accurate. Now all I want to know is how bad Pierce's injury is. Paper said he was pulled because of injury and not performance. I was thinking it was a combination of the two. Hopefully Burke uses the injury as an excuse to move on but if they're telling the whole truth and the injury was the only thing that kept Pierce out... /more rage

I definitely want to see how Goltz fares against tougher defenses, particularly with his reads. I think the key thing to remember is that Goltz has shown SOMETHING- we don't know if long term success is in his future but at this point there is only one way to find out.

Just finishing up the second half re-watch.... Will Ford is just not a good kick returner. -

They catch the ball when it's thrown there way. Etienne has some big play potential if we use him right. Kohlert doesn't possess one great trait but he does everything adequately. -
There is not a single reason to go with Pierce unless Burke wants to get people fired.

Oh and also this team is SO boring to watch live. I mean, I love football and I love the Bombers but that second quarter was a snoozer. I stayed 'till the end of the game just because I was so excited to see if Goltz could do anything with the offense. -

If we put Pierce on the field next week (or whenever he's healthy) the whole staff should be fired immediately. He had his one drive right off the bat, then slowly decreased his play to what we've seen by the second quarter. He's done. Goltz looked decent. He's still really raw, but there is something to work with there at least. His head actually moved through his progressions occasionally (once on a really nice deep ball to Denmark). It's time to see if we can make something of him. Jovon looks like he's lost a lot. He's getting beat deep weekly now. Chad Simpson has really ticked me off. Too many fumbles, a lot of horizontal running. He has to run north-south or his value plummets greatly. Our defense is a lot weaker without our two starting linebackers. That hurt us tonight with Ray hitting a lot of short throws. Still, they managed to keep things close at 7-6 for a while 'till Pierce's interception. That pick and then the deep touchdown sunk us. I was talking with some fans around me how 14-6 might as well be 35-6 for us since we can't score at all. Burke talks a lot about benching players or punishing them somehow. That threat has been diminished with a lot of injuries, but I also think he's pointing the finger at the wrong players. He wasn't happy with Denmark but Denmark wasn't getting a lot of throws his way. Now he did and look what happened. We've discussed Pierce ad nauseum, but freaking Mike Renaud is killing us AGAIN with field position. He has been really, really bad for over two years. His directional kicking is awful. The OL's had some struggles too. The easy one for me there is Morley. If Burke is going to rant and rave about sending these guys a message, then he needs to actually bench the players that deserve it. That goes out the window when some of the frequent offenders are still playing. What a frustrating team. -

I just hope we score more than 10 points... -
People always say it'll be worse without Buck but what exactly is worse? Losing to Hamilton? Not getting a first down in a quarter? We've hit the floor.

I didn't find this topic offensive at all actually. I'll see myself out.
