That's a bit of my point... do we want Watson blocking? Or hope that a third import SB or Pontbriand can fill that role... Why wouldn't we want Watson blocking? He hits like a truck, when he sneaks out after blocking he is an excellent threat and why put a slower, reliable guy on the outside when you can put a home run sprinter hopefully with good hands or a huge target with good hands? Just seems like change for the sake of change... Also, Watson loves the physicality of his spot.. Since he appears to be fragile.. Don't want him to break a nail blocking.

That a pretty big leap to say that marvelous was way better then brhom and hall. At most he ran 15 plays with 4th stringer on the field. Marvelous may become the next big cfl qb, but suggesting this with any certainty from 2 appearance is ridiculous. To me it sounded like hall and brhom were battling it out for 2nd.

shhhhh.. Don't question the team.. People will think you are a negative nancy and call you out :/

Only 22,500 tickets sold for home opener

i know i'm in the minority, but i enjoy watching games from home. I can enjoy the game with my 4yr old. pause the game and give him a bath before bed and read him bed time stories etc. then i can skip all the comercials to catch up. I get to see all the replays and have things pointed out that i would miss at the stadium. I was at the last TO game last year and it was a great experience to be in the stands, but i found i missed parts of the game and was not as involved. That being said, if i had more friends into CFL football and who wanted to go to a game, i would go. I will take my 4yr old this year for a game since he is interested and wants to see what it looks like in person. -
Seems to me that Fords best asset as a runner was his speed.... He wasn't terribly elusive but if he got a hole he had the speed to hit it and run a long way. In that video ford was caught from behind by a db I think at the goal line. Maybe the db is fast.. But would think ford should be faster? I drank during games to lessen the pain.
-
I forgot what will ford did last year. 2 kickoff returns for a touchdown. Doesn't have pull away speed that i recall but can make some people miss. Light years ahead for blow disel http://www.bluebombers.com/video/index/id/94815

Brohm passes Hall on the depth chart?
Adrenaline_x replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I dunno.. I like Max Hall. I like what he did last year with the **** storm that was blowing. But If Brohm is better then so be it.. i want the best players possible on the team. That being said. Willy looks alot better then the rest.. But i think to really gauge the difference between the remaining three qbs, we would have to see them playing with the same players on offence against the other teams starters on defence. The most fascinating thing for me, which hasn't happened here in a while, is that after the half our team marched down the field with relative ease and scored a TD. Its seems its been 2 and outs mixed in with long drive and stall out for a field goal. hopefully the offence continues to build on what we have see soo far. -
Didn't see this posted yet. Cool.

If you are hit while throwing, how do you eat the ball. You can only really eat the ball if you are setting up to throw... Looks to me like he was throwing when he was hit and the ball did reach the back of the endzone.
-
The blitz left what looked like man coverage in the back and the receiver had single coverage in the middle of the end zone. Hall put the ball up in the area. I've seen an awful lot of touchdowns scored against us that way. I would think that the receivers or play calling would have caveats for dealing with the blitz. Ie play is called, Recievers and qbs read blitz so the route the receiver runs should be shortened/modified to deal with the blitz. Where can i rewatch the game? looks like it locked on tsn videos.

Paris Cotton has made the final roster?
Adrenaline_x replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
For that to happen, you'd have to have receivers blocking. Besides, how often does that sort of thing happen in the regular season? This year, its going to happen almost every game... Against us (i kid) -
its nice to not be arguing over who should be starting each week (unless our willy become impotent)

IE. O'Shea was not happy with Halls int at the end. I finally got around to watching the game and yikes that was a poor decision to make. Eat the sack there and they might win the game. I'm glad that you are finally seeing how mediocre Hall truly is. So please no more comparisons to Ricky Ray and dropping passes into the receivers hands. Halls noodle arm and stone legs simply won't cut it. that's an interesting take on what I said.... quite frankly I think Hall looked OK until that int. I didn't see a whole lot from Brohm that would put him ahead at this point other than the fact that the int was just a brain fart and Brohm didn't make any of those this game so to me Hall is still the #2 guy but I think O'Shea is not happy with losing that game and rightly so, they gave the game away with dropped passes and sloppy tackling and other assorted mistakes. I've found that the only time Hall throws INT's are when he tries to throw as he is being hit. He threw a few like that last year and again in Calgary... Looks to me like the "noodle arm" that gets INT's thrown only comes out when he tries to throw when he should be eating a sack (or when he should've had more time to throw) Not sure that was such a horrible choice though. Assuming your receiver comes up with the ball its a touchdown. If not its most likely an incomplete pass. At worse its intercepted.. which is was.. but I can kinda understand hall throwing the ball. he has limited time to play late in the game and the receivers were dropping catch able passes.. he tried to do it on his own and through it up as he was hit.. should have ate the ball and kicked the field goal.. but i dunno.. i think the majority of the time the reicever breaks off their route when they see the qb in trouble and comes back to the ball. The receiver on that play kept running after the defender stopped as he saw where the ball was going and the reciever then threw up his hands.. Hmmm.. dude, go fight for the ball.

That and alot of people move there from elsewhere for government supported/funded/related jobs. Ottawa has alot of commuters as well.

That was classic! My 4 year old said " Yah, I want to arts and crafts. Can we do arts and crafts too? "

Thanks for the reading material while popping, but it all ****. Etch may suck and so might the blues defense. I will withhold judgement to later into the season. But.... It was said earlier this year that etch's wasn't good against the run and after two games, there was no response from the blue when the other teams were running for 10-30 yards at a time. Pass coverage doesn't matter if the running backs are moving the ball.
-
Marvel made beautiful spiral on the run. Our receiver dropped a lot of passes in all our qbs. Brutal. Our defence need to learn to stop the run. Vanilla is a horrible excuse. Even if u are running a simple scheme u should be able to stop the run at some point.

Well.. i didn't use one on purpose. I had them hidden in my underwear in on my inner thy. I guess when i started running the friction between my legs must have caused enough heat to light them up. All 8 of them in sequence. Not to worry. I was lucky enough that the friction also caused the scotch tape to release from my legs hairs allowing the now lit smoke bombs to slide out the bottom on my pants as i ran.. I wish i had it on video as i looked around once to see if i was being followed and about every 10 to 15 feet i could see plumes of smoke. So.. i can't say for certain that the smoke bombs are the reason for the fire trucks.. but they do burn for a solid 80 seconds.. assuming no real wind, the smoke will linger for a long while

Prop the security guard up in the seat next to you and make it look like you guys are in deep conversation.... ****. I panicked. The people yelling sounded frantic.

Just as an update. I fell asleep in the sun a woke up a bit dehydrate and sun burnt. So far none of the players have made any mistakes from what i've seen. Infact the team on the field looks unbeatable. I'm now kind of hiding as there are some police around and other bb employees walking around screaming the name "John?" After some quick checking it looks like the security guard laying on the ground here has john listed on his vest.. I think its time to get out of here.. Hopefully my home made smoke bombs work.. If i have to leave town, i will try and head to Calgary tonight and provide some reports.. wish me luck!
