Your comment is a contradiction.. If hes and upgrade we should attempt to sign him at a rate that we can justify. Then why do we pay for any free agents since our system is "different" If he is a great RB, then he should be a great RB on a team that can setup similar situations for him to excel.. But seeing what has happened here the past 5 years, i guess we might not be able to create the situation. So no simpson, or ford.. Then who? I can see us letting ford walk if he is really overpriced, but why Simpson? Inuries alone i suppose/ We may end up with a really shitty RB when we probably need a great RB to take the pressure of our willy.

Because they were obviously thinking they could turn around and turn Glenn into viable assets. I dunno.. If the bombers or any other team were in their position, would they not draft the BEST unprotected QB they could to Guarantee they have at least one suitable starting QB? Then grabbing another future HOF QB in FA only maked them that much more secure at QB?? I'm not sure i buy that they drafted Glenn in order to trade him.. or that they signed Burris just so they could use Glenn as trade bait. Maybe they did, but is seems like the least likely situation. My guess is that they go into camp with all three QBs and see who produces the most with whatever system they run. One only has to look at our QB situation the last 5 years to realize that if you don't have a CFL quality starting QB your record is gonna be pretty shitty. it's not that they drafted Glenn with the intention of getting Burris and flipping Glenn, it's that when they started to pursue Burris they felt they could do it. Now they're paying 2 starting qbs, one who is angry to not be the starter and one who hates when someone else is breathing down his neck. The Bombers being the only other team that needed a starting qb coming out and saying "yeah we're sticking with willy" is a big FU to Ottawa cause now they've got their qb controversy and they haven't even hit training camp yet. Not sure Ottawa Cares.. They can just CUt Glenn if they want to and its no skin off their back.. Maybe after signing Burris they thought about possibly gettings something for glen via a trade (but what GM wouldn't). Sounds like sour grapes from up bomber fans.. And i wanted Burris.. Not sure why this is a big fu to Ottawa. Ottawa did what it took to get the best abs they couldmgetmformtheir club. Good on them. Maybe their plan is to keep, trade or cut Glenn now but I suspect they will keep them both.

People sure freak out. I didn't say I wanted to trade for glen, I was just wondering if this was something they may be considering. Hall and willy have show about the same and hall was in a much more challenging situation with an ass clown for a Hc,and a horrible oc for training camp and half the season. Receivers dropped a lot of balls last year. I hope willy turns into a star, but the sample size is way too small to have any real idea. Too many " next great qb " have come through and nothing about willy has popped out more then anyone else. It might change tho and I'm hoping he is a star. Or he plays as well as Glenn or Reilly BLM etc. That would be way better then we have had since glen was cut.

Willy has the same numbers Mike Reilly did heading into last off-season, and has thrown twice as many passes as Reilly had at that point. No.. Not saying willy is **** because he hasn't started.. You see My blue colored have faded to clear lenses.. Willy may become the next great bomber QB.. but the probability of that statically is pretty low.. He is unproven and until he proves that he is better then Hall or proves himself to be the next starter, Hes what he was.. A backup. I'm hoping he plays at the same level as reilly did.. But i'm realistic in beleiving our o-line is not conducive to slowing down the rush of the game for inexperience Qbs. Sask had a monster O-line Giving their Qbs lots of time to settle into the game and find open recievers.. Vs our offence being built around having outlet passes because we can't handle the rush.. Sask's OL was terrible for large chunks of 2013 due to injury...they had to start Neufeld out of ratio desperation for 2012...remember Willy's scrambling in the Banjo Bowl...must have been due to a monster OL. And guess which OL was better at run blocking in 2012? 2012... Thats two years ago and we were starting buck Pierce, Elliot and Brink. I'm not Down on willy.. I'm just trying to temper my expectations of the Newest Qb to come in. There are alot of factors that influenced his success in Sask and a large part of that was the talent he was surrounded with.. As it stands hes gonna be in tough unless more moves are made to upgrade our O-line and receiving core. Never mind that as of this moment we Don't have a DC and have no idea if our defence will be as dominant as it has in the past suggesting that we may rely heavily on the offence to win games as opposed to expecting the Defense to keep us in the games until the offence started moving the ball 30 minutes into the game.

That makes no sense. I think they would trade for Glenn or give up some kine of draft pick for him, but they won't give Willy for Glenn. Willy is our future. heh.. Willy hasn't shown much more then Hall, yet no one is deeming him the future.. But, Jyles, Elliot, Brink, Goltz and Hall have all been the future to alot of posters here and we in in the future now and non of them are the Starters we had hoped.. I hope he is, but history suggests that its a long shot..

Danny McManus disagrees with you. He might know a little something, something about quarterbacks. He might know something about being a cfl qb in the league a few years back.. But he doesn't have a history (yet) for succesfully spotting and developing cfl QB.. Time will tell and Danny mac was a great HOF QB.. but that doesn't always translate into be a great scout, mentor, etc. I'm hoping he's right.. But i've been hoping for 5 years that the "pros" knew what we needed, could scout, sign and assign roles that players could excel in.. But it hasn't happened yet..

Anyone thinking Winnipeg may turn around and trade WIlly for Glenn? Ottawa has alot of salary tied up in QB. Glen, Apparently, isn't happy with being stuck behind burris based on his contract because its based on the number of starts/ stats. Willy may be able to replace burris in 2 years? I wouldn't be surprised.

If Ettiene wanted to play here.. or we determined to play her, then why didn't he resign last year or earlier this year? If one of your FA hasn't resigned yet this close to FA, either the club didn't want him, the FA didn't want to move or they didn't agree on money and he was going to FA... Not excited about willy... We now have another Backup on the team.. I don't think willy has shown any more then Hall given that Willy played behind a championship oline and offence... Hall, not so much.

We can ill afford another round of "will he pan out" as its simply a tough way to get to starter.. id rather go with a no name scouted by manus then a broken neverwas How many CFL Qbs has Danny mac Found and brought into the league so far? Honest question, i don't know.. It seems a bit strange to me to put faith in a man to spot and sign talent, when they don't have a history of doing it, or atleast not known to me.

Meh... bring him in.. If he sucks or get Injured then cut/ ir him.. If we don't have glenn or another proven starter, bring in the best backups and let them fight it out for "starting" qb on our team.. maybe we get lucky.. maybe all our QB are put in the IR. BUT... we know that the QBs we currently have on the roster would not be starting on any other team. Give up a conditional draft pick? Sure.. but don't go crazy..
