👁🗨A reminder Winnipeg hasn’t surrendered a rushing TD this year and just four offensive scores overall. The Bombers are allowing just 16 points and 13.2 offensive points per game, both league lows. Stats guru Steve Daniels might have a good reason why. Daniels notes Winnipeg hasn’t trailed in four straight games – the first time it’s done that since the final four contests of the ’81 campaign – and been behind for just 9:24 the entire season. Subsequently, with teams having to play catchup, they’re more lineky to abandon the run against the Bombers in favour of passing. And with Nichols having completed his last 19 passes versus Ottawa, his streak will carry over against Hamilton. Should Nichols complete his next five pass attempts, he’ll break the league mark of 23 straight completions held by Ticats starter Jeremiah Masoli. 👁🗨 Now’s the time for the LaPolice 5 yard specials...or not. http://rodpedersen.com/the-point-after-week-6-in-the-cfl/

Small hope for Toronto?

From a website called “Awful Announcing” There's a Rod Black Drinking Game that's been circulating for at least five years, and Saturday's missed field goal call fit right into it. “Right down Main Street once more. But it’s wide!” - Rod Black https://awfulannouncing.com/international/rod-black-drinking-game-missed-call-cfl.html

Saturdays’s must win game for the Lions. Riders Canadian offensive lineman Philip Blake is going to be out for a while.“Blake broke his leg, he had surgery this morning, he’ll be out for at least six weeks,” Saskatchewan head coach Craig Dickenson said. Also, LaBatte is not expected to play. Bladek?? Lean fixings for the Riders. Not to worry Head Coach Devon Claybrooks figures he has his Lions covered...“I have all these ingredients for this soup and I’m just trying to season it to get the right taste,” he said to BCLions.com on Tuesday. (Must be leak soup)

I didn’t know but, Regina has their own version of LaRoca where Riders go to do their business, only it’s called La Anexo - Mexican food. Anexo supposed to translate to take out house, but somewhere the take wasn’t translated...

Don’t dwell on it. Those stats include those early games where we seemed to be so inconsistent. The players on Offence are figuring it out, more and more, and it’s showing.

Although the Bombers have scored the second most points in the league and lead with 13 touchdown passes, they’re doing it with defence. Offensively they rank fifth in net offence, second in rushing thanks to Andrew Harris but dead last in passing. Only the Argos have had more two-and-outs. Still, they lead in time of possession. They’ve surrendered the fewest points and have the best takeaway-to-turnover ratio. Winnipeg has forced the most turnovers and has the second fewest penalties. They don’t beat themselves. Kenny Lawler who might be the deep threat they have lacked the last few seasons. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound receiver from California spent the last three seasons on the Seattle Seahawks and B.C. Lions practice roster, from whence he was plucked by Blue Bomber general manager Kyle Walters. https://medicinehatnews.com/sports/local-sports/2019/07/23/inside-the-cfl-bombers-have-been-waiting-decades/

In the Week 7 pick ‘ems, there are no more shut out teams on the MBB board. All teams have been picked to win a game. Calgary 30-2 over Ottawa. Edmonton 29-3 over Toronto Winnipeg 29-3 over Hamilton And BC and Saskatchewan are even at 16 Odd that there are 2 Thursday night games, but I’m looking forward to them.. And how do they match up with their Nissan power rankings this week? I’d say pretty darn close. I’d have BC in last place (trending) but after they humble Saskatchewan on Sat., everything will be fine.

Our offence is just getting started. It has wave after wave of potential with this cast of characters. The only team to throw a wrench into how this offence runs is the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Ok, so maybe cfl 2.0 to Mexico wasn’t such a good idea after all..

Former Alouettes running-back Éric Lapointe hasn’t given up on his desire to purchase the Canadian Football League team — although he appears to be waging a losing battle against brothers Jeffrey and Peter Lenkov. “We care. We have a plan,” Lapointe told the Montreal Gazette Monday about his group of investors. “I’ll continue my fight until the team’s sold. We have everything.” https://montrealgazette.com/sports/football/cfl/montreal-alouettes/eric-lapointe-clinging-to-his-desire-to-purchase-the-alouettes#click=https://t.co/LKeXO55uzm

👁🗨 I like this quote.. "We have a lot more work to do... I don't feel like a 5-0 team, I feel like this team is hungry to win this week." https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/07/22/matt-nichols-july-22/
