My bone to pick with Harris’s playing time came in 2016 when MOS pulled him from the game with a scant 26 yards to crack the 1000 yard mark. That was achievable, but as we know, O’Shea calls the shots and numbers are only numbers to him. I don’t know the circumstances in 2013 with BC, but he was only 2 yards short of rushing for a 1000 yards. These examples would have given Harris 6 1000-yard seasons and as Maxwell Smart would say “missed it by that much.” Harris just wants to do his best, and play a role in winning for the team. He’s achieving that and I believe that’s #1 for him at this point of his career.

Interesting because, Calgary, on a short week, gets to play Toronto this week and hope to get things going then. Then Ottawa. Between August 3 and Sept. 7, the Stamps will play the Edmonton Eskimos three times, travel to Winnipeg for a game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and host a surprising Montreal Alouettes team.

Edmonton- own the season series with BC. That was easy. They also manhandled Reilly again. Didn’t think I’d see that again..Poor tackling by the Lions helped Edmonton’s game, but they were the better team. BC - really only have 1 chance left to make the playoffs, next Saturday night, in Saskatchewan, against the Riders. Saskatchewan, on the bye week, must see the same thing on their schedule. A must win next Saturday. They have the better team, overall, but certainly not unbeatable. Fajardo vs Reilly. Right there it seems like a mismatch, but the Riders are on home ground and have a better defence(?) Still, they have a rookie, non-aggressive Coach who’s going up another rookie Coach who’s finding it much tougher to Coach the whole shebang. Winnipeg highlights - Nichols, Whitehead, Harris, ST tackling and blocking and kicking and D-Line. It goes on.. Toronto- McLoed B-Thompson had his best game. It was no coincidence that it was because they featured Derel Walker as a target. 9 receptions for 188 yards. The guy is just flat out good. Other than that..well, there is no ‘other.’ Montreal- Vernon Adams staking his claim for QB. Good on him. Bray and Stanback, Lewis give him support. Tommie Campbell led a tougher defence. Ottawa - another whoopsie for Dominique Davis. But that’s to be expected from a rookie QB. They have to feature Sinopoli more in their offence, but I don’t see much on their roster at this point, and now they visit the Bombers.. Hamilton - Brandon Banks won that game for them as Masoli roller-coated from hot to cold. 2 ST return TDs didn’t hurt. Timely responses for TDs kept this game alive for the Ticats. Calgary - Can you say Begelton? 8 for 119 yards kept it close for Calgary. No miracle win for Arbuckle this week, but he still gave them a chance to win. Not his fault some receivers forgot how to catch.

Everybody’s assuming that Kavis Reed’s firing means that the Alouettes have been sold and that’s what the new group wanted. But what if it’s only related to Reed focusing on a career where where his talents lay? After all, wasn’t it Reed who was recently spotted trying on the new Gainer’s costume?

Not only has this weekend been eventful, but all eyes will be on particular games over the next 2 weekends. B.C. at Saskatchewan, next Saturday night, and the return engagement, on the following Saturday. With Montreal making a claim for authenticity, and a playoff spot, neither Western team can count on a crossover spot, at this time, as in previous years. Some key games next week...Ottawa-Winnipeg, Edmonton- Montreal, and the B.C. - Saskatchewan game. I'm already in my chair waiting..

He will be this week’s designated puppet. Get your pins ready.

One step forward..two steps back?

It’s not that easy. The mediocre bin has been overused this year because of, well, mediocrity. It’ll take awhile to find your particular post.
-
Stay tuned... The team has relieved General Manager Kavis Reed of his duties. The decision is effective immediately. More information will be provided by President Patrick Boivin at 2pm.

Looks like Adams is figuring it out. At least in this game.
-
Holy crikey, Montreal gonna challenge for 2nd place in the East! Nice performance by Vernon Adams and the Alouettes. Toronto can learn from the effort and discipline and Coaching of the Alouettes.

One of the easiest offside penalties to correct but is still one of the dumbest to be guilty of, the old hand, or foot, inside the one yard zone.
-
Could be both, as at the 12:30 mark, Fenner clearly hits head with Hecht..
-
Montreal is looking hungry and ready. “Hey Toronto, we're going right past you guys”
-
Just my observation, but I believe Hecht was protocalled.. He’s seen being escorted to the dressing room 3 minutes into the game after being looked at on the bench.
