More on Medlock: “The type of ball that I hit at that time is a tough ball to catch, so I felt bad for Lank,” Medlock said of the fourth-quarter punt that Ottawa’s Ryan Lankford allowed him to recover at the three-yard line, leading to Winnipeg’s insurance touchdown. “I knew it was going to curve left. As soon as I saw he wasn’t going to catch the ball, I ran down… there was a hole so I was just going for it. I was kind of upset and, like, ‘Whatever, I’m going for it.’ I didn’t really care.” Medlock, who has a name for all his special punts, says he only used this one a few times all of last season. He says O’Shea and special-teams coach Paul Boudreau give him the green light to call the kick he wants to execute. Rarely does he punt purely for distance. Wpg. Sun 👁🗨 It’s what we don’t see Medlock practicing that ends counting big time. Let’s not just take his punting for granted..

July 9 Appeal hearing for Simoni Lawrence. By appealing his 2 game he got to play up until this point, without consequence. Perhaps they should include this video of this spear to a sliding QB and increase the suspension..

Yeah, Rashaun Simonise dropped two catchable balls in that game and depending on the direction they go for receivers, I can’t see him being kept on as a National receiver with a performance like that. His biggest chance..wasted.

I absolutely love the way Flag Football is making inroads for kids who want to play football and get a taste for it. The CFL has back regional tournaments in the 9 CFL cities and a Grey Cup tournament. I hope they continue with that program. Its the logical choice for affordability and without the worries of contact before the kids are ready. (It seems also to be a demo sport of sorts, when Toronto plays, as there’s not much tackling going on there too.)

Week 4 Takeaways I remember the predictions for the Sask. - Calgary game. 5/6 writers had Saskatchewan beating Calgary. Reality: nope, not even close Saskatchewan 1-3 beat Toronto B.C. 1-3 a step on the line one point victory over Toronto Even the Crossover playoff spot is in doubt at this point. Montreal, B.C., Saskatchewan, all one step on the line away from the playoffs.. The highest paid receiver in the league, Derel Walker, is being wasted in Toronto..13 targets in 3 games. BC gets a rested, better Coached team (Edmonton) for their next game - 1-4 I reilly don’t like their chances against Edmonton. I believe mike Reilly is finally wondering why he signed there. He only had Durant for a receiver last game. Saskatchewan - bye week. Still might lose. As Brian Bennett quietly moves up the depth chart. "We're not as good as we thought" says Riders' Coach. They have some pieces, but as a whole, they be fighting BC for 4th spot.. Edmonton - Trevor Harris back to getting great stats..Even with great stats, they still might win.. Calgary - travel to the home of the Ticats. Still questions for both teams. Masoli vs Arbuckle. Hamilton losing to Montreal when they were supposed to win. And Calgary winning against the mediocre Rider team. But Calgary, being Calgary, looked a lot better in stepping on Saskatchewan. They have the leading tackler in the CFL Cory Greenwood with 25. Nick Arbuckle - looking closer and closer to being a legit CFL QB. Winnipeg - after what we’ve seen after week 4, this should be an injury relief game for the Bombers and a chance to reinforce their offence and defence. 100 TD passes for QB Matt Nichols - 81 of which are with the Bombers.. Great usage of Nic Demski in the opening Q. 82 yards on his longest TD of his career. I like where the Bombers’ headspace is at right now... As for Toronto, their Coaching staff have a lot of boning up to do, work that should have been done already. How is Chamblin not ahead of this? Releasing Jim Barker started this. Toronto just could not execute against BC. But there still might be some sort of execution coming up.. @grantshaw11 - Yep had those special teams coaches for a year. WORST COACHES EVER!! Wow Ottawa - play Montreal and Stanback next, and since the Bombers rushed for 149 yards, Ottawa’s going to have to better than that. Ottawa did sign Jeff Knox jr., so that does help the defence. #Argos LB Ian Wild recorded 13 tackles for the second time in his career. Only Solomon Elimimian has had two games in his career with 13+ tackles. #CFL How confident are the #Argos in a Jacques Chapdelaine offense? 3rd and inches is a punt situation. They would punt.. 😁 Wow! Montreal just kicked the Argos butt to last place and possibly made it tougher for the crossover...signing Chris Ackie.. Vernon Adams jr. game managed his way to leading the Alouettes to victory. 14 of 25 passes and threw for 202 yards. But, he had William Stanback. Stanback - 203 yards rushing. Very impressive. Know where your flag is Khari. At one point Khari was thinking of challenging a call, but he didn’t have his challenge flag. Somebody had to bring it to him.😳 Hamilton lost Erlington early and suffered..Now that I hear he’s 6 gamed, that will hurt, but, they’re still the best in the East. They also suffered thru penalties - 15 for 179 yards - Montreal had 13 for 154 yards.

The new pricing initiatives from the Eskimos is outstanding. It only makes sense to get the fans, and potential fans in the stadium. It really won’t cost them anything and it invites renewed interest and new interest. Bravo! B.C., Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and even Winnipeg, you’re up..

Wow! Montreal just kicked the Argos butt to last place and possibly made it tougher for a Western crossover...

I remember the predictions for this game. Most writers had Saskatchewan beating Calgary. Reality: Saskatchewan 1-3 beat Toronto B.C. 1-3 beat Toronto when the game was on the line I know it’s early.. But even the Crossover playoff spot is in doubt at this point. Montreal, B.C., Saskatchewan, all one step on the line away from the playoffs..

I swear I heard Reilly whimper when he looked across the field and saw Derel Walker standing there..

I’m looking forward to a good eating show-off at half time. 😜🍔🥪🥞🥯

Ah finally, we get the golden tonsils of Mr Rod Black. Hoozah!
-
I’d just like to think that Saskatchewan will lose, only because they don’t deserve to win and for being rude to the Bombers and our fan base.
-
When I first saw it, it was a penalty and I blew the whistle...and my family was annoyed. And yet from another angle, it wasn’t AS obvious, but by then O’Shea had thrown the challenge flag, and I felt more than 50% that review would show the push off...and it would be called.

Sliders.. It’s almost comical when you think of the the 2 ‘slides’ 2 of the Bombers used yesterday to try and get done what they needed. First there was the run, slide, non-slide performed exquisitely by our Bomber QB. The read of that play and the timing was way off, and we’re lucky he wasn’t injured lower body also. It was awkward at best. You would think a long time QB would have ’the slide’ as one of his go to plays. Secondly, there was the ‘get to ball the quickest legal way (non-leg)’ to force the ball out of bounds and get possession. That was Medlock, sliding from a couple of yards, on his knees, to get there quickly. Always thinking, that man. Treat him to a huge plate of ‘sliders’

I understand the need to use Harris. It would be foolish not to. But, Streveler and Wolitarsky had a connection last year and that could be used again. Hit him fast and short 7-8 yards, then Harris or Demski. Meanwhile, Streveler’s getting what he needs..playing time outside the 3rd down packages. Experience. He’s not ready now, but each snap brings him closer to the real hut, hut, hut.

It was obvious. That was ‘creating’ space.

Odds and Sods - Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Ottawa RB's
Mr Dee replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Was it a northern or southern one? -
Extra Points Miller 7 ST tackles - man on a mission, tied the CFL record for S.T. tackles. Quite the performance. Waiting on Willie J.? Willie Jefferson was creating havoc out there all night long.. Medlock - What can I say about the play of the game? Medlock’s constant practising of back spin punts paid off big time last night and his awareness and hustle to get to the ball, helped stem the tide and regain control of the game. Streveler's strength is his strength. He is one powerful runner. 42 yards passing on 6-8. 44 yards running..2 TDs Harris - Just his ordinary high performance..80 yards rushing, 50 yards receiving. Possession time - 39:01 Bombers 20:59 Ottawa 5 - 65 Bombers TOTAL PENALTIES Ottawa 10 - 110 5 pass knockdowns 4 turnovers unDeniable defence! Darvin Adams and his outstanding catch. They called a penalty but I thought he had scored. Comment of the night - “I probably should have slid earlier” - Matt Nichols Matt Nichols led his team last night. Great numbers and that TD pass was his 100th career TD pass Congrats! Chad Rempel - 200th career game. That’s an accomplishment! Congrats on that too! More on Mike Miller Fenner - I gave him **** for last game, but a nice bounce back game here. Briggs, Wilson and Gaitor part of the defence that has continued the defence of 34 consecutive possessions without surrendering a TD. With Kyrie Wilson starting at middle linebacker for Adam Bighill and Jesse Briggs lining up at weak-side linebacker the Bombers started eight Canadians Friday night Wolitarsky- all that guy does is catch the ball and make plays. What a find! Jackson Jeffcoat - tied for 3rd in QB pressures (not including last night) That’s what I like to see - 8 receivers were targeted in the offence last night. O’Shea challenged Nelson’s fumble to give the officials more time IN CASE there was one angle that gave them a better view. It was an important play and call, that could have been the difference. Still was a long shot though. From the sounds of Matt Nichols’ interview after the game, he’ll be ready to play next week. Mathews? Not so much. “Not a thumb injury. Ring and pinky finger wrapped on his left hand. No update from the #Bombers yet” - Matthew Scianitti

Winnipeg Ottawa 39:01 POSSESSION TIME 20:59

I know eh? That 234 yards against the secondary was, well, almost devastating.
-
That’s why they weren’t looking for him..
-
Fenner. Great comeback game.

Bombers taking their ball back!

Medlock always practices that particular punt. He just put a plug in the drain..
